Abstract: Disclosed is a silent, soft-close compact hinge comprising of a hinge cup pivotally connected to a hinge body via a hinge arm. A set of coil springs biases the hinge to a closed position. A damping mechanism is removably attached to the hinge cup and acted on by the hinge arm. A set of spring sleeves are fitted to the coil springs to insulate the movement of the coil springs on the hinge arm providing the closing bias. The hinge body is comprised of three separate plates adjustably connected to each other with cam screws. The position of the hinge body with respect to the hinge arm is adjustable in three directions without the need for removal or loosening of mounting hardware used to attach the hinge body to a furniture piece.

Abstract: A radio connection apparatus configured for use with a radio comprising an accessory connector arrangement is provided. The design includes a radio connector comprising physical radio interconnection hardware configured to fit with and physically fixedly join with the radio and a pouch connector including a pouch connector plug configured to fit with and physically fixedly interconnect with a connector formed within a radio pouch such that physical removal of the radio from the radio pouch causes a corresponding physical removal of the pouch connector from the connector formed within the radio pouch. The radio connector and pouch connector electrically interconnect with a processing device such that signals are transmitted between the radio and the processing device.

Abstract: A rotary shelf assembly for a blind corner cabinet is provided. The apparatus is easily reconfigured to accommodate left and right-hand configurations and does not contact the partitions of the cabinet during stowage or deployment. The apparatus is comprised of a center pole secured to a cabinet frame with a universal frame bracket. The frame bracket has a set of opposing flanges attached to a base through which the center pole extends. A rotary coupling is secured to the base of the frame bracket. A rotary support engages the rotary coupling and rotates about the center pole. A shelf is adjustably and slidably attached to the rotary support by a set of slide assemblies. More than one shelf can be independently rotated about the center pole from a stowed position to a rotated position. Each shelf can also slide linearly along the set of slide assemblies to a deployed position.

The wearable item comprises a substrate that includes wear-susceptible areas, wear-susceptible indicia, and/or a combination of wear-susceptible areas and indicia. One or more wear-susceptible areas incorporate markings and/or indicia such as words, pictures, symbols, which progressively “wear away.” These phrases, symbols, and pictures can relate to emotional and/or psychological obstacles and impediments, which are adversarial in nature.

Abstract: An apparatus for an improved toilet bowl cleaner with removable cleaning brush head. The apparatus provides a more simplistic design than previous toilet bowl cleaners with removable brush ends by providing an actuator release button and trigger assembly that functions primarily with a series of rods and springs.

Abstract: A thermal insulation system can include a body of heated material at an elevated temperature. A layer of porous insulating material can be placed adjacent to and in fluid communication with the body of heated material. The insulating layer can contain distributed liquid water in an amount sufficient to cool the insulating layer through evaporative vapor flow toward the body of heated material. The amount of water can be sufficient to provide water vapor for inhibiting the diffusion and adsorption of hydrocarbons from the heated material. The insulating layer can include a continuous vapor phase. A heat sink material at a lower temperature can be placed adjacent to the insulating layer and opposite from the body of heated material.

Abstract: A frac plug includes a body having an outer surface, a first pocket in the outer surface, and a second pocket in the outer surface. In addition, the frac plug includes a first sensor removably disposed in the first pocket. The first sensor is configured to measure and record a plurality of pressures. The frac plug also includes a second sensor removably disposed in the second pocket. The second sensor is configured to measure and record a plurality of pressures. Further, the frac plug includes a first cap releasably coupled to the body and closing the first pocket. Moreover, the frac plug includes a second cap releasably coupled to the body and closing the second pocket. The first cap includes a port and the second cap includes a port.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for maintaining a steady flow rate and pressure of a carbon dioxide stream at high pressure when a low-pressure source of the carbon dioxide varies with time. Liquid level in an accumulator that is sized to accommodate variations in supply rate is controlled by sub-cooling of liquid entering the accumulator and heating in the accumulator, the sub-cooling and heating being controlled by a pressure controller operable in the accumulator.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for monitoring a digital media receiver (including receivers for television or other type of digital media) to determine whether it is necessary for a receiver to re-connect in order to continue receiving a predetermined channel or stream. This invention is useful in digital media monitoring systems and in situations with many receivers connected to the same signal source and predetermined channels defined to be output by each receiver. One embodiment of the invention uses an auditing receiver that constantly scans the upstream channel-map, guide data, service information or system information to determine if the connection parameters required for receiving each predetermined stream have changed. Some examples of connection parameters include packet identifiers (PIDs), radio frequency (RF) channel and uniform resource locator (URL), depending on the type of broadcast and stream.

Abstract: A dual trigger member to release a disposable microfiber cloth or non-woven cloth from a flat mop combined with a yoke and a rotatable handle affixed to the yoke. The flat mop with yoke and rotatable handle and dual trigger allow a user to easily change a disposable cloth without touching the cloth. Further, the yoke allows the handle to rotate 180 degrees relative to the yoke and the perpendicular direction relative to the mop and allows a user 180 degrees of range of movement of the cleaning tool during use resulting in less energy exerted by the user.

Abstract: A method of minimizing vapor transmission from a constructed permeability control infrastructure can comprise forming a heterogeneous hydrated matrix within the constructed permeability control infrastructure, the constructed permeability control infrastructure comprising a permeability control impoundment defining a substantially encapsulated volume. The heterogeneous hydrated matrix includes a particulate solid phase and a continuous liquid phase which is penetrable by a vapor having a permeation rate. The constructed permeability control infrastructure is operated to control the permeation rate by manipulating an operational parameter of the constructed permeability control infrastructure. Additionally, the vapor can be impeded during operating sufficient to contain the vapor within the constructed permeability control infrastructure.

Abstract: Disclosed is an adjustable face plate mounting system for adjusting the position of a face plate attached to a pantry pullout apparatus. The system comprises a slotted bracket adjustably attached to the face plate, a standoff assembly attached to the pantry pullout apparatus and slidably engaged with the slotted bracket, a fastener fixedly attached to the pantry pullout apparatus, and a set crew movable within the fastener and abutting the slotted bracket. A first embodiment of the standoff assembly includes a pair of standoffs and coordinating removable fasteners. Another embodiment of the standoff assembly includes a single standoff and fastener paired with a pin. The face plate is adjustable in three dimensions with respect to the pantry pullout apparatus and surrounding cabinets.

A set of mounting holes are spaced along the web of the bracket and correspond to existing holes in prefabricated cabinets or closets over a range of industry standard sizes. A guide flange extends from the web proximate the middle of a first edge. End flanges curve around the ends of the first edge. A pair of spring flanges extend from the web on a second edge opposite the middle guide flange. A universal slide assembly is removably secured to the mounting bracket between the flanges. The end flanges and the spring tension of the spring flanges hold the slide assembly in place. Different closet organizer components such as tie racks, pant racks, and belt racks can be affixed to the slide assembly for slidable deployment along the vertical partition out of the closet.

Abstract: A tourniquet for restricting a flow of blood in a body part is presented. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, the tourniquet comprises a first elongated member, and a second elongated member in slidable engagement with the first elongated member. In addition, the tourniquet includes a tensioning mechanism connected to the second elongated member, wherein a compressive force is applied to the body part upon applying a tensile force to the second elongated member using the tensioning mechanism. The tourniquet is suited for emergency use, and may be applied by using only one hand. Thus, the tourniquet may be applied, manipulated and tightened by the wearer, even if the wearer is limited to the use of a single hand.

Abstract: A technique for context-dependent annotations to database views may include receiving a query including a data selection criterion for retrieving data from a commercial data store, identifying a first view containing a first data set based on the query, displaying a result from the query to a user, and receiving annotation content from the user linked to data in the first view including view-related information to reconstruct the result as displayed to the user when the annotation content was received. The technique may also include receiving a query for a second view of the commercial data from a second user, where the second view includes at least a portion of the first data set, and presenting the second view of the commercial data to the second user, together with any of the annotation content associated with the portion of the first data set included in the second view.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bioreactor for large-mammal lung tissue. The bioreactor is capable of hydraulic driven negative-pressure and positive-pressure perfusion and ventilation. Perfusion and ventilation is delivered at physiological rates and is easily controllable. In one embodiment, the bioreactor comprises a support scaffold to support the size of a large-mammal lung tissue. In another embodiment, the bioreactor comprises a pleural sack that provides a small isolated fluid chamber which surrounds an engineered lung, thereby minimizing the amount of culture media needed. The present invention also provides an in vitro model for examining the function of a test agent and compositions and methods for alleviating a lung defect in a large-mammal.

Abstract: An undermount drawer slide mounting clip releasably attaches a drawer to a drawer rail assembly mounted in a cabinet carcass. The apparatus is capable of effecting positional adjustments of the drawer in three directions without removing the drawer from the cabinet carcass. The apparatus is comprised of a body slidingly engaged with a bonnet. A trigger pivotally connected between the body and the bonnet. A spring loaded catch slidable within the bonnet and acted on by the trigger to releasably attach the apparatus to a drawer rail assembly. A threaded spindle rotates within the base and adjusts the horizontal position of the drawer. A ramp adjustably connected to the base adjusts the vertical position of the drawer. A plunger extends from a housing connected to the body to adjacent the drawer rail assembly and adjusts the depth of the drawer.
