Abstract: An anhydrous, three-phase powder-like cosmetic product comprisinga) 10 to 60 weight % of a gel phase comprising ethylene/acrylate copolymer and an ester having the formula ROCOR, wherein R is an alcohol or fatty alcohol having a molecular weight of 60-400 and R.sub.1 is a fatty acid having a molecular weight of 120-500;b) 30 to 60 weight % of a powder phase comprising filler, color, preservative and substantially spherical silica particles having an average particle size of less than 15 microns; andc) 10 to 20 weight % of an oil phase comprising cosmetically acceptable alcohol esters of fatty acids.

Abstract: A cosmetic eyeliner composition in the form of a liquid is provided which is especially adapted for use in conjunction with a wick-type nib pen which delivers eyeliner through a capillary action, which eyeliner composition includes a pigment intermediate formed of FDA approved inorganic eye product pigments having an average particle size of about 5 microns or less, a water-soluble organic polymer film-former, such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and optionally one or more plasticizers, and a carrier for the pigment intermediate, which carrier includes water, plasticizer, preservative, and an alcohol and optionally a moisturizer and/or humectant. The eyeliner composition of the invention will pass through the wick of a wick-type nib pen by capillary action without clogging the wick.
Abstract: An improved lipstick formulation is provided which is creamy, shiny and soft, which includes relatively small amounts of organic high staining dyes and yet maintains its structural integrity and has excellent color laydown and long wear properties and includes an acrylates copolymer powder together with conventional lipstick ingredients.
Abstract: Press molded cosmetic compositions are prepared by first forming a paste of the composition with the aid of a gum containing aqueous solution and then extruding, pressing and drying the composition into one or more various shapes.
