Abstract: The present invention provides an insecticidal composition comprising, as active ingredients, (a) at least one pyrethroid compound and (b) an N-arylpyrazole compound such as 5-amino-3-cyano-1-(2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-4-trifluoromethylsulfmylpyrazole, and an insecticidal method which comprises applying the composition.
Abstract: Process of protection of building already built or going to be built, whereby an effective amount of insecticidally active amount of compound is spread around or under the said building at discrete locations. The insecticide may be an arylpyrazole.
Abstract: The invention concerns a synergistic fungicide and/or bactericide composition comprising dodine and a derivative of the anilino-pyrimidine family. The invention also concerns a preventive or curative method for fighting against phytopathogenic fungi and/or bacteria using such a composition.
Abstract: Precious metal values, e.g., platinum, palladium and rhodium, and, optionally, other valuable elements, e.g., one or more rare earths and cerium in particular, are recovered from a wide variety of compositions of matter and articles of manufacture, for example waste or spent catalysts such as vehicular postcombustion catalysts, by (i) optionally comminuting such composition/article into a finely divided state, (ii) intimately admixing the composition/article with sulfuric acid, (iii) calcining the resulting admixture at a temperature ranging from 150° to 450° C., and (iv) leaching the calcined admixture in an aqueous medium, whether simultaneously or separately, with H+ ions and chloride ions, whereby obtaining (1) a solid residue substantially depleted of such precious metal values and, optionally, of such other elements, and (2) at least one liquid solution comprising such precious metal values and, optionally, such other elements.

Abstract: The invention relates to new 1-arylpyrazole hydroxylamines and hydrazines of the formula
wherein the structural variables are as defined in the specification. The subject compounds are especially useful as pesticides, for controlling arthropods, especially insects, by systemic action.
Abstract: A recombinant adenovirus in which the expression of a nucleic acid sequence coding for at least one homologous or heterologous gene of viral origin is placed under the control of an inducible promoter, is disclosed. The use of such recombinant adenoviruses for preparing AAVs, and a complementary cell line and preparation method therefor, are also disclosed. Furthermore, pharmaceutical compositions containing such an adenovirus are disclosed.

Abstract: A method of increasing protein expression encoded by a foreign gene in plants which comprises treating a locus comprising the plant or the seed from which it grows with aldicarb. A method of controlling pests at a locus, which locus comprises a plant containing a gene which encodes for Bt endotoxin, the method comprising the application of aldicarb at the plant or at the seed from which it grows. A method of controlling weeds at a locus, which locus comprises a plant containing a foreign gene which encodes a protein imparting tolerance to an herbicide, wherein the herbicide is applied in locus to plant, the method comprising the application of aldicarb to the plant or to the seed from which it grows. A method of increasing the time during which an herbicide may be applied to an herbicide tolerant plant, which method comprises applying a systemic pesticide to the plant or to a seed from which it grows.
