  • Patent number: 5906332
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for the transfer of a thread (1) carried in a low pressure air stream being delivered to a rotating spool (7) with which a capture apparatus (4) runs in synchronism for the pick-up of the thread (1) which is set before it by a thread dispensing unit for this purpose. This thread dispensing unit exhibits two thread guides (31, 30) which hold the thread (1) at right angles to the travel path of the capture apparatus (4). Respectively, the first thread guide (31) forms a hold-back element which acts to restrain the thread (1) during the formation of a reserve winding in the spool border and to release the thread (1) for the formation of the normal winding. This first thread guide (31) is governed by a controllable drive (33), with the help of which, the open side of a thread guide groove (312) of this first thread guide (31) is pivotable out of a thread restraining position (S.sub.1) into a thread release position (S.sub.2).

  • Patent number: 5901546
Abstract: With channels for the conveying of fibers, fiber slivers or yarns on spinning machines, problems are encountered in their manufacture. The channels must be made with a certain inside contour, where at the same time the quality of the surface inside the channel must be very good. The high surface quality is required in order to ensure trouble-free conveying. A channel is therefore proposed which is made as a tubular component, consisting of a metallic material and which has been produced by forming its interior by a medium under pressure. It is proposed for an open-end rotor spinning device to form the conveying channel separately from the other components of the lid of the rotor housing and to insert the channel into the lid. It is proposed in that case to use a channel according to the design shown above.

  • Patent number: 5899057
Abstract: For an opener roller for an open-end spinning device provided with a basic body by which it is connected to a supported shaft for rotatable support, it is proposed that the clothing be attached to the basic body via a clothing holder, whereby fasteners are used. For the fixed allocation of the clothing holder to the basic body it is provided that the attachment of the clothing holder by means of the fasteners be effected from the side of the opener roller which is facing the shaft bearing. The face of the opener roller away from the shaft covers the shaft, so that this face of the opener roller is also an even surface.

  • Patent number: 5855110
Abstract: For an aerostatic bearing (6) of an open-end spinning rotor, in which the bearing material consists of a wearable material, a wear indicator (9) is provided on the bearing plate (601) of the axial bearing (6) so that the state of wear of the axial bearing (6) can be checked by simple optical inspection. The wear indicator (9) can be integrated into the running surface (610) and be made e.g. in the form of a blind bore (91), so that the presence of the bore indicates that the wear lies still within the admissible limits.

  • Patent number: 5829101
Abstract: A fleece guidance system is provided to convey a fiber fleece to the nip of a pair of calendar rollers. The system includes a funnel having a fiber sliver channel defined therethrough which tapers towards an opening adjacent the nip of the calendar rollers. The channel has a longitudinal axis therethrough which is angled relative to a plane through the axes of rotation of the calendar rollers. Oppositely facing guiding segments are configured on the funnel on opposite sides of the opening. The segments have a forward edge which extends into the nip and define lateral guiding surfaces for the fiber sliver exiting from the opening. A plane through the forward edge of the guiding segments and the opening is essentially perpendicular to a plane through the axis of rotation of the calendar rollers.

  • Patent number: 5815887
Abstract: A process and device are provided to introduce a fiber fleece through the nip of a pair of calendar rollers. Pressurized air is directed to a cylindrical segment of a sliver guiding system down stream from a tapered conical section so that the pressurized air draws the fiber fleece through the sliver guiding system without requiring lateral venting or expansion of the pressurized air. The pressurized air vents from the front end of the cylindrical section adjacent the nip of the pair of calendar rollers.

  • Patent number: 5799476
Abstract: In order to increase the operating efficiency of the spinning machine and in order to generate a response suitable to the hierarchy or quality of the error message in case of an error in the yarn or in another electrical or mechanical device of the spinning machine, the parameter signal of the yarn obtained by a measuring device (20) is transmitted to an evaluating phase (21,22) which emits error message signals. These are attributed in an attribution section (23) to pre-defined error groups (A,B,C,D). Each one of the output signals of the attribution section represents a group of errors and generate (automatically) graduated responses for the elimination of errors.

  • Patent number: 5799374
Abstract: A spinning machine for the doubling or stretching of fiber bands with a rolling section having lower rolls which are secured in journal blocks, and wherein the upper rolls may be also secured on said journal blocks with pressure means for the loading of said upper rolls, it is proposed that the pivoting axis of the pressure arm for the placement of the pressure means to the upper rolls be arranged in such a way that, when observed in the running direction of the fiber band, said axis lies behind the rolling section. Advantageously, what is achieved thereby, is that the spinning machine can be maintained in a considerably simpler and quicker manner. Following the upward pivoting of the pressure arm, the entire area of the rolling section becomes freely accessible. The pivoting geometry of the pressure arm can be so varied, that the upper rolls can be easily restored into the guides on the journal blocks of the lower rolls.

  • Patent number: 5796635
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for rapid measurement of thickness or mass of a fiber sliver in a draw-frame or card (so-called "regulation"). The object of the invention is to accelerate the process of measuring according to the state of the art while maintaining measuring precision and even improving it. For this, a process for rapid measuring of the thickness or mass of a fiber sliver in a machine processing fiber slivers, such as a draw-frame or card, in which the primary measuring signal (u.sub.1, u.sub.1 ') of the measurement indicator is taken via a signal-influencer which modifies the primary signal by segment or point before transmission in the form of measuring signal (u.sub.2, u.sub.2 '); the modification is predetermined by a characteristic line stored previously by segment or point which is based on a relationship (K1) measured by point between defined predetermined thicknesses at the measurement indicator and the primary measurement signal (u.sub.1 u.sub.1 ') measured at that moment.

  • Patent number: 5771542
Abstract: A process for direct ascertainment of setting values for point of autolevelling and/or amplification application (R, K) of a draw frame or carder with adjustable drafting of fiber sliver in which the autolevelling of the adjustable draw frame or carder is provided at least with one pilot control (10) in order to change the drafting of the fiber sliver (20) is proposed. The process accelerates optimation but not so that it may produce an inherent restlessness in the autolevelling of the draw frame. This is achieved if a function (a, b) is found through several measured values (CV1, CV2, CV3) of a quality-characterizing magnitude such as CV-value, the minimum of which (am, bm) results in an optimizing parameter such as the point of autolevelling or amplification application (R0, K0) for the autolevelling (10) of the draw frame or carder.

  • Patent number: 5761773
Abstract: A fleece funnel is provided for use in textile drafting equipment to receive a fiber fleece conveyed by a pair of delivery rollers. The fleece funnel includes a long side disposed adjacent to the delivery rollers. A funnel area is defined in the long side for receiving the fiber fleece. The funnel area defines a planar guiding surface in a planar substantially concave impact surface. A funnel opening is defined in the impact surface and a funnel channel is in communication with the funnel opening. A ramp surface is defined on the long side outside of the funnel area. The ramp surface meets the impact surface and defines a common contour line with the impact surface so that air forced out of the fiber fleece balloon formed as the fiber fleece is conveyed into the funnel opening is drawn away from the funnel area towards the ramp surface unimpeded by planar components of the fleece funnel.
