Abstract: Occupancy sensing using ultra-wideband (UWB) keyless infrastructure is provided. Channel impulse response (CIR) measurements are received from a plurality of UWB transceiver nodes arranged about a plurality of locations. A classification model it utilized to predict occupancy of each of the plurality of locations based on CIR tensors formed from the CIR measurements for each of the UWB transceiver nodes.
Abstract: A method of image segmentation includes receiving one or more images, determining a loss component, for each pixel one image of the one or more images, identifying a majority class and identify a cross-entropy loss between a network output and a target, randomly selecting pixels associated with the one image and select a second set of pixels to compute a super pixel loss for each pair of pixels, summing corresponding loss associated with each pair of pixels, for each corresponding frame of the plurality of frames of the image, computing a flow loss, a negative flow loss, a contrastive optical flow loss, and a equivariant optical flow loss, computing a final loss including a weighted average of the flow loss, the cross entropy loss, the super pixel loss, and foreground loss, updating a network parameter and outputting a trained neural network.

A diverter assembly is disposed in the chamber and is configured to control fluid flow through the valve housing. The diverter assembly includes a first part including first through openings and a second part that is axially aligned with the first part, the second part including second through openings. The diverter assembly includes an elastic element disposed between the first diverter part and second diverter part, the elastic element biasing the first diverter part toward the lid and the second diverter part toward the base.
Abstract: A method for transferring a motor vehicle from an autonomous driving mode, in which the motor vehicle is guided autonomously, into a manual driving mode, in which the motor vehicle is guided by a vehicle driver. In the method, pieces of information for supporting the transfer are ascertained with the aid of a cognitive model of the vehicle driver, the cognitive model describing at least one perception process of the vehicle driver with respect to a driving situation and at least one decision-making process of the driver with respect to an action option. A device configured for executing the method is also described.
Abstract: A method for generating synthetic measurement data indistinguishable from actual measurement data captured by a first physical measurement modality. The first physical measurement modality is based on emitting an interrogating wave towards an object and recording a reflected wave coming from the object in a manner that allows for a determination of the time-of-flight between the emission of the interrogating beam and the arrival of the reflected wave. The method includes: obtaining a first compressed representation of the synthetic measurement data in a first latent space, wherein this first latent space is associated with a first decoder that is trained to map each element of the first latent space to a record of synthetic measurement data that is indistinguishable from records of actual measurement data of the first physical measurement modality, and applying the first decoder to the first compressed representation, so as to obtain the sought synthetic measurement data.

Abstract: An attenuating device for a bus of a controller area network bus system based on differential voltage signals. Abstract: Identifying key frames of a video for use in training a machine learning model is provided. Object detection is performed to identify frames of a video including target classes of objects of interest. Feature extraction is performed on the identified frames to generate raw feature vectors. The feature vectors are compressed into lower dimension vectors. The compressed feature vectors are compressed into a plurality of clusters. The clustered compressed feature vectors are filtered to identify the key frames from each of the plurality of clusters. The key frames may be provided as a representative data set of the video.

Abstract: A LIDAR device for scanning a scanning area. The LIDAR device includes a transmitting unit for generating beams and for deflecting the beams along the scanning area, and a receiving unit including at least one detector for receiving reflected beams. Individual sections of the detector are consecutively activatable at defined intervals for the detection of the reflected beams, or the reflected beams being deflectable onto individual sections of the detector by a deflector at a changing deflection angle. A control unit and a receiving unit are also provided.

Abstract: A method and a device for the mutual monitoring and/or control of a multiplicity of autonomous technical systems which are at least partially interconnected to one another via a communication network is provided. At least one of the autonomous technical systems is embodied as a monitoring autonomous technical system and monitors the operating behaviour of other autonomous technical systems. Since a specified first rule, the monitoring autonomous technical system detects an operating behavior, which is contrary to the rule, of a first autonomous technical system and generates a status message about the operating behavior which is contrary to the rule therefrom. Depending on the evaluation, a control rule is derived for the first autonomous technical system and communicated to a control module which is assigned to the first autonomous technical system. The operating behavior of the first autonomous technical system is controlled on the basis of the control rule.
