Abstract: A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine includes a solenoid coil which is actuable by an electrical line, a valve sleeve which forms an outer coat of the fuel injector in a discharge-side region, and a valve housing. The fuel injector further includes a plastic sleeve, which houses the solenoid coil and the electrical line. The plastic sleeve is slid over the valve sleeve in assembly. The plastic sleeve has two parts interconnected by a crosspiece, with a recess formed in a radial region adjacent to the region of the crosspiece.
Abstract: A method of controlling a braking system of a vehicle, aimed at preventing the rear axle of the vehicle from lifting under braking. More particularly, a method for controlling a braking system (19) in a vehicle (1), the vehicle comprising at least one front wheel (5) and at least one rear wheel (3), characterized in that it comprises the following steps: determining whether there exists at least one condition under which the rear wheel (3) will lift, and if it does exist, limiting and/or reducing the braking effort applied to the front wheel (5) by the vehicle braking system.
Abstract: A method and a system of determining a driving direction of a vehicle traveling at a low speed. The method includes determining whether the vehicle is in one of three states: (1) an uphill state in which the vehicle is located on an upward sloping surface, (2) a downhill state in which the vehicle is located on a downward sloping surface, and (3) a flat surface state in which the vehicle is located on a flat surface. The method also includes obtaining information from a plurality of vehicle sensors and determining a direction of movement of the vehicle based upon the determined state of the vehicle and information from the plurality of vehicle sensors.

Abstract: The invention relates to a procedure to heat up or keep warm an exhaust gas emission control assembly of a vehicle with a drive train containing one transmission. The drive train is powered by an internal combustion engine and at least one second drive unit. It is proposed that also in an operating state, which lies outside of the idle speed, a rotational speed or a torque of the internal combustion engine deviating from values for the engine rotational speed and the torque is set, which would exist during an identical driving condition without the heating-up or keeping warm of the exhaust gas emission control assembly.

Abstract: A fuel injector having an injector body and a fuel inlet communicates with a high-pressure fuel source outside the injector body and including an actuator received in a hollow chamber from which a high-pressure inlet extends to an injection valve member. Depending on the pressure in the first hydraulic chamber, fuel is injected into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine when the injection valve member lifts from a seat. The actuator acts directly upon a stepped piston which defines the first hydraulic chamber and actuates a control piston. The injection valve member is guided in the control piston.

Abstract: A vehicle wheel assembly has a vehicle wheel with a number of angularly spaced mounting bolt receiving apertures, a wheel hub with axially inboard and outboard surfaces and a plurality of radially outwardly protruding bosses interspersed with clearance spaces and a disc brake rotor having a like plurality of radially inwardly protruding bosses interspersed with clearance spaces. Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus has a high-pressure pump and a fuel-supply pump that delivers fuel from a fuel tank to the high-pressure pump. The high-pressure pump has a housing with an internal chamber that contains a drive unit for at least one pump element having a pump piston driven by the drive unit and delimiting a pump working chamber into which fuel is supplied via an inlet during an intake stroke and from which fuel is displaced via an outlet into the reservoir during a delivery stroke of the pump piston. The fuel-supply pump delivers fuel into the internal chamber via a connection that contains a check valve which opens toward the internal chamber of the housing and the inlet of the pump working chamber is connected to the internal chamber.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a power compound miter saw having miter angle as well as bevel angle adjustment capabilities, with sensing units that can measure the angular position of the miter table relative to the base as well as the bevel angle of the blade relative to the table. Such sensing units generate position signals that can be used to provide a digital display of the miter and bevel angles to a high degree of accuracy. Moreover, the embodiments utilize mechanisms which enable a user to tighten the pivot connections of the table and the base as well as the pivot connection between the table and the bevel pivot support housing without damaging the sensing units. The sensing units are configured and mounted in such a way as to not interfere with access to the nut which can be rotated to vary the amount of friction between the adjacent components.

It is suggested that the side walls (56) of one component (38) has recesses (44) which are open to the wiper strip (14), and plunge into the projections (34) in the wiper blade (12) operating position, such that both components (20, 38) are locked against each other in the longitudinal direction.
