Patent number: 4684834Abstract: An electromagnetic motor apparatus is used for converting electrical energy into rotary motion and includes a housing having a crankshaft rotably mounted therein. A plurality of stators form cylinders and are mounted onto the housing. A plurality of armatures form the pistons and are movably mounted to slide in the stators. Each armature has an armature piston rod connected to each armature and to the crankshaft for turning the crankshaft responsive to the movement of the armatures in a timed sequence. A distributor is operatively connected to the crankshaft for distributing electrical energy applied to the distributor from the distributor to the stator windings. The distributor has at least one pair of electrical contacts moving in a liquid bath responsive to the rotation of the crankshaft to direct electrical energy to the stator in timed sequence so that electrical arcing is reduced in the distribution of the electrical energy in an electromagnetic motor.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1986Date of Patent: August 4, 1987Assignee: Robert W. Patent number: 4683861Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for venting a fuel tank of internal combustion engines or the like, wherein fuel vapors developing in the tank are received in an intermediate storage unit containing an activated carbon filter and are delivered to the induction area of the engine in dependence upon operating conditions. The delivery is accomplished by an electrically controlled tank venting valve having a pass-through opening the cross section of which is continuously changed. This is achieved by changing the pulse duty factor of the drive pulse train for this valve. The pulse duty factor may be determined in the sense of a pure control using a family of characteristic fields in dependence on rotational speed and load of the engine, or by taking into account preferably averaged Lambda values with a reduction in the cross section of the pass-through opening of the tank vent valve as the mixture becomes richer.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1986Date of Patent: August 4, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Helmut Breitkreuz, Albrecht Clement, Dieter Mayer, Claus Ruppmann, Dieter Walz, Ernst Wild, Martin Zechnall

Patent number: 4681076Abstract: The invention relates to an electronically controlled fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine wherein all dependency on the supply voltage for the electro-hydraulic components is compensated for and/or the pressure-regulator characteristic dependent upon the pumped quantity is compensated for. With respect to the dependency of the electric fuel pump on the supply voltage, this is accomplished by means of a correction factor for the basic injection signal. Below a specific voltage value which corresponds to the voltage required for maintaining the system pressure, this correction factor becomes progressively larger. The pressure regulator characteristic dependent upon the quantity of fuel pumped is taken into account in the correction in a corresponding manner.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1985Date of Patent: July 21, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Hans-Martin Muller

Patent number: 4680774Abstract: To suppress quantitizing ambiguities upon digital transmission of an analog signal, a random access memory (RAM) (13) is connected at the end terminal of a digital transmission line, and has its output connected to an adder stage (15). The adder stage adds the digital value of +1 to the output from the RAM (13). The value of the digitized data word, incremented by +1, is then compared in a subsequent interrogation cycle of the value at the input to the memory and only if the deviation is greater than .+-.1, a comparator, effecting the comparison, provides a "store" signal for transfer of the new value to the RAM (13). The D/A converters, only then, are changed to provide a changed output analog signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1986Date of Patent: July 14, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Karl-Heinz Klein, Wilfried Richter
