Patent number: 4664142Abstract: A pressure regulating device is proposed, which serves to regulate the fuel pressure in a fuel injection system for internal combustion engines. The pressure regulating device includes a pressure regulating valve which has a valve diaphragm fastened in a valve housing and defining a fuel chamber which communicates via an inflow opening with a fuel distributor line. Patent number: 4665399Abstract: A device for transmitting of binary data between a mobile data carrier (10) and a stationary station (11) is provided with a first resonance circuit (13) in the stationary station (11), whereby a switchable field effect transistor (25) is parallel switched to its condenser (17) by means of a switching pulse sequence, a second resonance circuit (12) in the data carrier (10) which is at least conductively coupled for a short time with the first resonance circuit (13). For the purpose of enlarging the inductively to be bridged distances between the resonance circuits (12,13) of data carrier (10) and stationary station (11) without impairing the operating safety during the data transmission the resonance circuit (13) in the stationary station (11) is designed in such a manner that its resonance frequency is about equal to the switching pulse sequence.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1985Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Edwin Fauser, Hans List, Gunter Schirmer

Patent number: 4664092Abstract: The ignition system of a five-cylinder gasoline engine utilizes two ignition coils, each serving two cylinders which are fired at instants of the firing sequence which are separated by the firing of one of the cylinders served by the other of these ignition coils. A third ignition coil fires only the remaining cylinder. The sparkplugs of two cylinders fired by the same ignition coil are connected through oppositely poled diodes. This arrangement avoids circuit closing sparks when either of the twin primary windings of the ignition coils serving two cylinders is turned on. There are thus five separate primary windings and only three separate secondary windings, and the former are turned on and off by individual electronic switching circuits triggered in sequence by individual pulse generators responsive to a magnet on a single rotary disc.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1985Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Reinhold Kaufmann

Patent number: 4664466Abstract: In an electric device, a cable-supporting element for receiving an electric supply cable is formed of two disengagably-connectable portions, of which the first portion is formed with an extension inserted into a hole of a respective shape, formed in the cover of the housing of the electric device. The first portion is then displaced relative to that hole so that a projection formed on the extension, overlaps an inner edge of the recess and engages the latter. The second portion provided with a filling piece is then set onto the first portion so that the filling piece fills, together with the remaining part of the extension, the hole. The first and second portions are then locked to each other.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1985Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Claude Bleger, Peter Bruder, Ernst Munster

Patent number: 4662337Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, which is embodied as a radial-piston/distributor pump, having an axially fixed and rotationally driven distributor, on the end of which that is remote from the drive and protrudes freely out of the distributor cylinder guiding the distributor an annular slide is disposed, which can be both rotated and axially displaced by means of adjusting drives. Both the quantity adjustment and control of the instant of injection are effected in a electrically controlled manner by relief openings provided on the distributor and control openings which are provided on the annular slide. All of the foregoing can be effected precisely on the end of the distributor which is free of moment.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1985Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Franz Eheim, deceased

Patent number: 4662338Abstract: A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines which has a valve needle loaded in the closing direction and is radially guided and supported in an axially displaceable manner within a nozzle body. The movement of the valve needle is effected in the opening and closing directions in a selectively variable manner, a spring-loaded supplementary mass which performs a dual function being disposed in the nozzle interior. In the opening direction of the valve needle, the supplementary mass is displaced along with the valve needle, while in the closing direction the two elements are separated. The supplementary mass influences the movement of the valve needle both inertially, as the result of its mass, and by effecting a speed-dependent damping, as the result of the positive displacement of a fluid from damping chambers, the whole being adapted to a constant or variable throttle disposed in the fuel inlet conduit.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1982Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Katsuoki Itoh, Iwan Komaroff

Patent number: 4662567Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve is proposed, which serves in particular to inject fuel into the intake tube of internal combustion engines operating with fuel injection systems. The fuel injection valve includes a valve housing, a core, a magnetic coil and a cylindrical armature which is connected via a rod-like connecting part having a smaller cross section than the armature with a valve closing member embodied in the form of a ball. The valve closing member cooperates with a valve seat provided in a valve seat body. The radial guidance of the armature is effected by a narrow annular disk. The valve closing member is radially guided only by the valve seat in its closed position and by a stop in its open position. Downstream of the valve seat fuel guide bores lead into a preparation bore in the form of a blind bore, which has a diameter of approximately 1 mm.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1985Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Heinrich Knapp

Patent number: 4662687Abstract: An anti-skid brake system and anti-drive-slip system having a master cylinder, at least one inherently safe closed brake circuit which includes anti-skid valves and wheel brakes, a booster cylinder associated with the master cylinder and in which a booster piston is displaceable, a pressure supply apparatus, a valve connected thereto, which is actuatable by means of a brake pedal for controlling brake pressures. A locking piston cylinder connected to the control valve, a sensing piston, which is coupled to the brake pedal and which passes into the locking piston cylinder, and a change-over valve assembly. This change-over valve assembly is embodied such that for normal braking operation, it connects the booster cylinder with the control valve. If there is a danger of skidding, or wheel lock, this change-over valve assembly disconnects the booster cylinder from the control valve and connects it to a return line in order to relieve pressure and reduce the braking pressure.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1986Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Heinz Leiber

Patent number: 4658641Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for determining the flow rate of a flowing medium such as the amount of air supplied to an internal combustion engine. The apparatus includes at least one temperature-dependent resistor arranged in the flowing medium. For this purpose, an arrangement is provided which applies a quantity dependent on at least the flow rate to the temperature-dependent resistor. The method includes the step of abruptly reducing the flow rate dependent quantity to a value such as approximately zero in the presence of a flow-rate value lying below a predeterminable threshold value. Because the reduction takes place only for a predetermined period of time, normal operation will be resumed automatically when the flow rate rises again. A hot-wire air-flow sensor is arranged in the intake pipe of an internal combustion engine and the output signals thereof are a measure of the amount of air inducted by the internal combustion engine.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1985Date of Patent: April 21, 1987Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Ulrich Drews, Josef Kleinhans
