Abstract: A carton for retaining, suspending, and dispensing rolls of wound web material and a method of manufacturing same are disclosed. The carton is a trunk to which a lid is hinged to allow the lid to be opened and closed and thereby allow access to the roll of wound web material. Retainers are provided at first and second ends to positively hold the roll within the carton for dispersal of the film. The retainers may also suspend the roll off of the bottom wall of the carton to avoid adhesion of the multiple layers of wound web of material, particularly materials employing pressure sensitive adhesives. A carton includes guide surfaces to facilitate automated assembly of the carton.

Abstract: Methods for forming a thermoplastic film with an attached closure strip are disclosed. The thermoplastic film can then be used to produce zippered reclosable plastic bags. The methods include providing a thermoplastic film web having a sealing surface and providing a closure strip having a binding surface, both being maintained in a non-melted condition at room temperature. A heated thermoplastic binder layer is then extruded and positioned between the sealing surface of the film web and the binding surface of the closure strip very quickly after extrusion. The hot freshly extruded binder layer transfers enough heat to the closure strip and to the film web to melt the binding surface of the closure strip and sealing surface of the film web. Pressure is then applied to the film web and the closure strip to seal the closure strip to the film web. An apparatus for practicing the method at high speed is also disclosed.

Abstract: A recloseable multibag freezer bag including an inner liner bag and an outer support bag. The inner liner bag is a thermoplastic with a thickness of less than 2 mil and a specified secant modulus, has a mouth through which the interior of the inner liner bag is accessible, and is joined by a mouth seal to the throat of the support bag along the entire length of the mouth of the liner bag substantially enclosing an air space between facing walls of the inner liner bag and outer support bag. The outer support bag is a thermoplastic, and has a mouth and a throat. A recloseable mouth seal is affixed to its mouth to provide recloseable access to the interior of the liner bag through the outer bag while maintaining the enclosed air space between the inner and outer bags.

The bag includes first and second sidewalls, each having a top, a bottom and two opposing side edges, the first and second sidewalls being attached together along the respective bottom and side edges; an inwardly folded top pleat positioned across the first sidewall; a reclosable fastener having at least two cooperating closure members, one closure member being positioned proximate to the top of the first sidewall above the pleat, the other closure member being positioned proximate to the top of the second sidewall, such that when the bag is filled and closed, the reclosable fastener is offset.

Abstract: A carton includes a first wall, a second wall transverse to the first wall, a weakened section in the first wall defining a framed removable portion and a framed opening in the second wall. A sheet of non-opaque material may cover at least a portion of the framed opening in the second wall.

Abstract: A reclosable fastener assembly includes first and second elongated closure elements that are engageable to form a seal. A slider is slidable relative to the closure elements between an open position and a closed position and is adapted (i) to engage the closure elements to one another when moved across the closure elements toward the closed position and (ii) to disengage the closure elements from one another when moved across the closure elements toward the open position. The slider carries a first partial indicator. A second partial indicator is located relative to the closure elements so as to complement the first partial indicator to form a visual indicator when the slider is in the closed position.

Abstract: An apparatus for and method of stacking flexible articles of a non-uniform thickness involves the use of a stacking table including separately movable first and second support surfaces. An actuator moves the stacking table through a range of motion relative to a stationary cam plate. A cam follower is mechanically coupled to the second support surface and engages the cam surface when the stacking table is moved through at least part of the range of motion. When the actuator moves the stacking table and the cam follower engages the cam surface, the second surface is displaced relative to the first support surface. Preferably, the cam plate is repositionable to vary a distance by which the second support surface is displaced relative to the first support surface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a freezer bag comprising a multi-layered bag having at least one liner film and an outer support bag. The liner film(s) have a first sidewall and a second sidewall attached along respective lateral edges forming edge seals, each sidewall having a top edge, the outer support bag having two sidewalls attached together along respective lateral edges forming edge seals, each sidewall having top edges defining the opening to the multi-layered bag and the support bag having a folded edge defining the bottom of the multi-layered bag, the top edge of at least one liner film being attached to an inner surface of the respective sidewall of the support bag wherein the liner film(s) are thermoplastic.

Abstract: Disclosed are plastic storage bags for storing clothing, linens and other items. The storage bag has sidewalls defining a cavity having a mouth opening at the top. A closure mechanism extends along the mouth for opening and closing the bag. A thin, side panel or flap is joined to one of the sidewalls along its top and sides to define an inverted pocket sized to contain a clothes hanger. The inverted pocket has a bottom opening for inserting the clothes hanger into the pocket and a top opening sized of lesser extent for receiving a hook of the clothes hanger without allowing the clothes hanger to pass through the top opening.

Abstract: A multicompartment reclosable thermoplastic bag having at least two compartments is disclosed. Each compartment has a top, a bottom, side edges, and two opposing sidewalls joined at the side edges and the bottom. Each compartment has a closure across the top thereof, which are arranged back-to-back and aligned such that the center points of each closure are less than ½ inch (1.27 cm) away from each other. The compartments are attached together proximate the tops of the compartments, and the bottoms of the compartments are free from being attached to each other. A process for making the bag is also disclosed.
