    Abstract: The invention relates to a composition containing a catalyst suitable for producing ethylene and other C2+ hydrocarbons at high selectivity while improving both methane conversion and product yield. Particularly, the catalyst contains mixed metal oxides having at least one alkali earth metal and at least one rare earth metal along with an alkali metal promoter in the form of an alkali metal or in the form of an alkali metal tungstate. The invention further provides a method for preparing such a composition, using a calcination process to calcine the alkali metal promoters together with mixed metal oxides. Additionally, the invention further describes a process for producing C2+ hydrocarbons, using such a composition.

    Abstract: A polyethylene composition having increased environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR) is comprised of a polymer blend of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) and a polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer. The polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer is present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 0.5 wt. % to 15 wt. % by total weight of the polymer blend. In a method of forming a polyethylene composition having increased ESCR, a HDPE is modified by combining the HDPE with a polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer in a polymer blend, the polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer being present in an amount of from 0.5 wt. % to 15 wt. % by total weight of the polymer blend. The polymer blend can be formed into an article of manufacture, such as a bottle cap.

An application of the composition to a stain including a deposit of a cosmetic material at a white polyester-cotton blend fabric to provide a stained polyester-cotton blend fabric exhibits an increased stain removal measured as reflectance observed at 460 nm by at least about 35% compared to a reflectance observed at the stained polyester-cotton blend fabric prior to the application. A treatment including the composition applied to the stained polyester-cotton blend fabric provides a reflectance at the stained polyester-cotton blend fabric that is greater than a reflectance observed at a white polyester-cotton blend fabric stained with a deposit of a cosmetic material and that has been treated with either the glycerin ethoxylate alone or that has been treated with the linear alkyl benzene sulfonate alone.
