    Abstract: A gyroscopic navigational installation for land and sea vehicles for provng characteristics of the trajectory of the vehicle. The installation in one embodiment includes a gimbal mounted on the vehicle and pivotable about an axis. A first gyro is rotatably supported by the gimbal about a rotational axis such that a gyro azimuth sensitivity axis is orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and a gyro rolling sensitivity axis is parallel to the vehicle longitudinal axis. A controlled accelerometer is supported by the gimbal such that an accelerometer pitching sensitivity axis is parallel to the vehicle longitudinal axis and an accelerometer rolling sensitivity axis is parallel to the gyro rotational axis. In an installation according to another embodiment, a second gyro is mounted on the gimbal such that a pitching sensitivity axis thereof is parallel to the rotational axis of the first gyro.

    Abstract: A magnetic bubble memory device comprises a common package accommodating a lurality of pairs of memory chips. In each pair, the two chips have bubble propagation patterns in confronting relation which are mirror images of each other and additionally angularly offset by 180. Electrical connecting leads between the chips and the outside of the package are carried by insulating films located between the confronting chips. Coils located in the package create a bias magnetic field which is common to all chips. The coils for driving bubbles along the patterns are also common to all chips.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of at least one surface of an article conted therein is disclosed. The treatment apparatus comprises a treatment enclosure which includes at least one inlet lock-chamber and at least one outlet lock-chamber with an article transport device extending therebetween. The treatment enclosure includes a solvent dispenser which is positioned with an outlet thereof adjacent the article transport device. Included within the apparatus is a vapor extractor for extracting air-solvent vapors from the treatment enclosure. The vapors extracted from the treatment enclosure are directed through a condenser positioned between the inlet lock-chamber and the outlet lock-chamber. Recycling ducts, communicating with the treatment enclosure and the vapor extractor, are also provided for recycling air, from which the solvent vapors have been substantially removed, toward the inlet of the inlet lock-chamber and the outlet of the outlet lock-chamber.

    Abstract: A device for continuously measuring the azimuth and slope of a drilling l includes a gyroscope and an accelerometer station disposed in a container suspended from a cable. The gyroscope and the accelerometer station are mounted on an inner frame pivotally mounted on an outer frame on an axis which is perpendicular both to the axis of rotation of the gyroscope and the axis of the drilling line. The outer frame is pivotally mounted in the container on the longitudinal axis of the container. An angular position detector measures the angular movements of the inner frame in relation to the outer frame. A first motor controlled by stabilization error information delivered by the gyroscope and corresponding to one axis of gyroscope sensitivity rotates the inner frame in relation to the outer frame, and a second motor controlled by stabilization error information delivered by the gyroscope and corresponding to a second axis of sensitivity rotates the outer frame in relation to the container.
