Publication number: 20200057422Abstract: Some appliances, normally supplied by a mains supply, comprise an emergency supply by batteries able to take over from the mains supply. The batteries used by the emergency supply are generally protected by a fuse. These appliances may consume energy greater than what could be supplied by the batteries of the emergency supply. When there is a break in the mains electrical supply, it's preferable to limit the current consumed by the appliance to not damage the fuse protecting said batteries. However, the fuses are hardware modules having a reaction time of a few hundreds of milliseconds. If one does not want to damage the fuse, one could reduce the current consumption of the appliance within a time less than the reaction time of the fuse. A system and method herein instantaneously reduces the electrical consumption of an appliance in the event of a break in the mains supply.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2017Publication date: February 20, 2020Applicant: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventors: Jean-Philippe NEGELE, Anthony REUCHE, Massinissa LALAM

Publication number: 20200052915Abstract: An equipment can function according to a plurality of operating modes that include a deep standby mode in which the energy consumption is minimum, an active mode in which the energy consumption is maximum and a light standby mode in which the energy consumption is intermediate between deep standby and active mode, a change from the deep standby mode to the active mode being slower than a change from the light standby mode to the active mode. The method enables an electricity meter supervising an electricity network to which an item of equipment is connected to control the change of said equipment to light standby mode. To do this, the meter implements a procedure for the detection of human presence based on an analysis of the electrical consumption in the electricity network and activates the light standby mode of the equipment when a user is detected.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2017Publication date: February 13, 2020Applicant: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventors: Florent DUCHON, Jerome BERGER

Patent number: 10530508Abstract: A method for scanning a frequency band for producing a service plan. The method parallelises the scanning by dividing the analysis into two steps: an exploration step for the purpose of detecting channels or frequencies carrying services; and an analysis step for extracting detected channels from program information in order to supply a service plan. Each of the steps is performed by multiple task instances. These tasks share the band to be explored and synchronise, for one same step, via semaphores and, for an inter-step communication, according to a producer/consumer principle.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2017Date of Patent: January 7, 2020Assignee: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventor: Romain Déjardin

Patent number: 10499329Abstract: A device has a first radio interface for implementing a first wireless communication network and a second radio interface for implementing a second wireless communication network, said networks having separate identifiers. When no client is connected to the second wireless communication network, the device: deactivates (303) the second radio interface; implements (304) a third wireless communication network via said first radio interface, the third wireless communication network having the same identifier as the second wireless communication network. Once a client device connects to the third wireless communication network, the device reactivates the second radio interface, re-implements (306) the second wireless communication network; and cuts off (307) the third wireless communication network and switches said client device to the second wireless communication network.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2014Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventor: Nicolas Dangy-Caye

Patent number: 10476690Abstract: In a communication network, a client has a plurality of network interfaces connecting it to a server able to deliver data streams on multicast groups. The client obtains a first request for subscription to a multicast group allowing to obtain a data stream. The client replaces the first subscription request with a plurality of second requests for subscription to a plurality of multicast subgroups able to supply data sub-streams which, once combined, allow to reconstruct the data stream. Each second subscription request is transmitted over a network interface with which the request was associated, so as to favour use of each available network interface. The client receives, over each network interface, a data sub-stream corresponding to the second subscription request transmitted over said network interface and reconstructs the data stream from the data sub-streams.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2015Date of Patent: November 12, 2019Assignee: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventors: Antonie Rocquelay, Laurent Alarcon

Publication number: 20190320477Abstract: A gateway manages a first secure wireless local network and a second secure wireless local network. The gateway interconnects the second secure wireless local network and a wide-area network so that each device paired with the second secure wireless local network can access services offered by the wide-area network. The gateway detects an attempt at first pairing, with the first secure wireless local network, using first authentication data. The gateway checks with a provisioning server that the first pairing is performed by a device associated with the same user as the gateway, and checks that the first authentication data correspond to expected authentication data. In the case of a positive check, the gateway transmits, via the first secure wireless local network, second authentication data as well as a network identifier of the second secure wireless local network, with a view to pairing with the second secure wireless local network.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2017Publication date: October 17, 2019Applicant: SAGEMCOM BROADBAND SASInventor: Nicolas KORBER
