  • Patent number: 4165947
Abstract: A cutting tool that has a body with an insert receiving a pocket at an extremity thereof and an insert on a support body which has surfaces complementary to support surfaces of the tool body and seated in the pocket. A cylindrical locking member is received in a bore that extends parallel to the pocket and a locking screw extends through the support body and through an open ended slot that joins the pocket and the bore and threadedly engages the locking member in such a manner that when the locking screw is tightened the insert and support member are locked into the tool body pocket and when the screw is loosened the insert, the support body, the locking screw, and the locking member can be removed from the tool body by sliding the same from the open ended slot.

  • Patent number: 4158522
Abstract: A tool shaft is detachably fastened in a tool holder by means of a plurality of gaskets which are each sandwiched between a pair of press rings. The tool shaft extends through the press rings and gaskets. A screw is provided for compressing the gaskets between the press rings. The gaskets are disposed in recesses of larger volume. The gaskets are nonsymmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the tool shaft. When compressed, the gaskets force the tool shaft laterally against the rings to prevent radial misalignment of the tool shaft.

  • Patent number: 4155149
Abstract: A file comprises a handle and a tool connected to the handle. The tool comprises a body and a sleeve encompassing the body. The sleeve is formed of grinding material and includes an exterior grinding surface. Portions of the sleeve are disposed in recessed portions of the body and are fixed therein by tongue portions of the body which are deformed against the sleeve. The file is manufactured by positioning circumferential ends of the sleeve in a longitudinal recess on opposite sides of a ridge extending outwardly from the recess. The tongue portions extend from the ridge and overlie the recess. The tongues are deformed toward the recess and against the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4149821
Abstract: A rotary drill comprises a shank, two axially extending chip removal recesses, and at least two radially oriented cutting inserts. One insert is peripherally located and is arranged adjacent one of the chip removal recesses. The edge of the peripheral insert extends radially so as to form the wall of the hole to be drilled. Another insert is located radially inwardly of the peripheral insert and is arranged adjacent the other chip removal recess. The inserts extend axially to generally the same extent. The inner insert is offset from a 180 degree relationship with the peripheral insert by an angle, which angle is of such magnitude that the drill is radially balanced.

  • Patent number: 4144777
Abstract: The circular saw blade of the invention is composed of different materials and consists of three concentric zones, -- an inner zone, intermediate zone and an outer zone, -- welded together. The material of the outer zone is a high-speed steel, the outer and intermediate zones are joined together by, for instance, electron beam welding, while the intermediate and inner zones are joined together by a welding method other than electron beam welding. The present invention relates to the saw art, and is concerned with the provision of an improved circular saw blade.

  • Patent number: 4136918
Abstract: The electric plug of the present invention including a base plate, a yoke, a case movable over said yoke and a pair of flat contact pins of American type and also a pair of round pins of European type. The flat contact pins are fixed in the base plate of the plug, while the round contact pins are located in that part of the plug consisting essentially of yoke and case. When the case is drawn upwardly over the yoke, the two components can be tilted as a unit about journals in the base plate so as to expose the flat contact pins for use. When the case is pushed down over the yoke, the round contact pins are exposed for use.

  • Patent number: 4130371
Abstract: The rotary cutter tool assembly, including cutting insert, of the present invention is adapted to perform a finishing operation within a tube in such manner that tube wall thickness is ensured. To this end, the novel insert is provided with a guiding surface adjacent to the cutting edge of the insert, which guiding surface is displaced towards the central portion of the insert at a distance corresponding to the desired depth of cut. The insert is secured to the rotatable cutter head in such relation that said guiding surface precedes the cutting edge in the direction of rotation of the cutter head.
