Abstract: A deep hole drill head support pad whose edge chamfers are formed in a continuous grinding operation so that there are no discontinuities in the angled side surface leading up to the outer surface thereof. A method of manufacturing the support pad includes generating a virtual guide metric including a curved travel path for a grinding surface around a support pad blank, and a plurality of control surfaces intersecting with the curved path at separate locations along its length, each control surface defining an angle of orientation of the grinding surface. A CNC grinding machine can interpret the virtual guide metric to change the angle of orientation of a grinding surface relative to a support pad blank as it moves between adjacent control surfaces in a continuous manner.
Abstract: An inner tube assembly releasably latchable with a core barrel of a core drilling apparatus. The inner tube assembly includes a valve housing having a fluid flow port and a position guide to control a position of the valve body within the valve housing to open and close the port in response to a fluid pressure acting on the valve body.
Abstract: A pipe coupling includes a first and second connected tubular element forming an elongated tube and being connected by a connection arrangement that biases the first tubular element against the second tubular. An annular sealing element is provided between and overlapping opposed end portions of the elements. The annular sealing element has a generally T-shaped cross-section and includes a first portion that forms a stem of the T-shaped cross section and extends in a radial direction and defines the outer periphery thereof, and a second portion formed by two opposing flanges that form the cross-bar of the T-shaped cross section and define the inner periphery thereof. At least one of the flanges presents a rounded bulge forming an outer peripheral surface of one flange. The bulge is sealed with an inner periphery of one of the tubular elements and extends continuously around the circumference of the annular sealing element.
Abstract: A roll for hot-rolling includes a body, wherein at least a part of an envelope surface of the body is made of a high speed steel that with reference to its chemical composition consists of the following elements, in weight %: 1-3 Carbon (C), 3-6 Chromium (Cr), 4.5-7 Molybdenum (Mo), 6-15 Tungsten (W), 3-14 Vanadium (V), 0-10 Cobalt (Co), 0-3 Niobium (Nb), 0-0.5 Nitrogen (N), 0.4-1 Yttrium (Y), eventualy distributed in the powder, and remainder iron (Fe) and unavoidable impurities, wherein contents of molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) satisfy the formula Mo+0.5W=2.0-10.0 weight %.

Abstract: A coated cutting tool for chip forming machining of metals includes a substrate having a surface coated with a chemical vapour deposition (CVD) coating. The coating has a layer of ?-Al2O3, wherein the ?-Al2O3 layer exhibits a texture coefficient TC(0 0 12)?7.2 and wherein the ratio of I(0 0 12)/I(0 1 14) is ?1.
Abstract: A lockable overshot assembly for use in a wireline spearhead system for lowering and retrieving inner tube assemblies and other tools and equipment from a downhole location includes a pair of lifting dogs pivotally mounted to an overshot head on the lockable overshot assembly and configured for latching a spearhead. A locking arrangement is mounted into the elongated body and engagable within the lifting dogs, such that in a locked state the lifting dogs are in latched position and in an unlocked state, allows the lifting dogs to move to the release position. The locking arrangement is a pin, which can be moved laterally to be between the latching dogs to prevent them moving to the release position.
Abstract: A milling tool has a basic body rotatable about a center axis, and including an outside, which includes a pair of opposite front and back sides, as well as a peripheral envelope surface. The body is equipped with a plurality of replaceable cutting inserts. The basic body includes an inner hollow space having an internal limiting surface, in which there collectively mouth a plurality of bores. The bores also mouth in the outside. Each cutting insert is mounted on an outer end of an ejector, which is rectilinearly movable in the individual bore and has an inner end accessible from the hollow space, and which interacts with a compressible force generator, to pull the same into the bore. By mounting the cutting inserts on ejectors, which simultaneously are accessible from a common hollow space, the cutting inserts can be replaced fast and easily, and possibly also be indexed.
Abstract: A power skiving tool includes a basic body, which is equipped with a plurality of replaceable cutting inserts, by means of which chips can be carved or peeled out of a workpiece with the purpose of forming, for instance, teeth. The individual cutting insert is formed with only one cutting edge) and has a rear end in the form of a shoulder surface, against which an adjusting mechanism is pressed for the fine adjustment of the radial position of the cutting insert in relation to the basic body. On the underside of the cutting insert, there is in addition a control means, e.g. a serration connecting surface, which interacts with the corresponding control means in the appurtenant seat in the basic body. In addition, the invention concerns a power skiving cutting insert as such.
