Abstract: A method for manufacturing a valve spindle having a valve disc and a valve stem, the method comprising the steps of: providing a capsule, which defines at least a portion of the valve disc; arranging, in the capsule, a preformed core body that includes a core head, which constitutes an inner portion of the valve disc; arranging a preformed annular valve seat in the capsule, wherein the valve seat is arranged such that the inner circumferential side of the valve seat at least partially defines an inner space around the core head; filling the inner space with a first metallic material, forming the buffer layer, such that the core head is covered with the first material; filling the capsule with a second metallic material, forming the cladding layer; subjecting the capsule to Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) at a predetermined temperature, a predetermined isostatic pressure and for a predetermined time so that the preformed core body, the buffer layer, the cladding layer and the valve seat are bonded metallurgically

Abstract: A twist drill for drilling composite materials includes a shank; a drill body; a drill tip having a cutting edge, a chisel edge, and a secondary chisel edge, wherein the secondary chisel angle of the drill tip is 145° to 165 and the point angle is 70° to 100°; and a flute extending from the drill tip to the drill body. The flute has a constant helix, and the helix angle of the flute being selected from the range 45° to 55°. A method of drilling a composite material comprising fibers uses the twist drill of the present embodiment. Suitably, the composite material is carbon fiber reinforced plastic or glass fiber reinforced plastic, and optionally being a laminate material such that the method comprises stack drilling. Embodiments achieve a combination of good hole quality, good tool life and good hole size spread.
Abstract: An earthmoving equipment bucket corner has a first portion, a second portion and an intermediate portion between the first and second portions, all in different planes to one another. A boss or lug is provided on the leading edge of the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is angled relative to both the first and second portions, which alleviates the load stresses otherwise created in a traditional 90° corner. The first portion has a wall with a taper or bevel towards a forward edge. The second portion has a wall with a leading flared wall portion that widens the corner at the front. The intermediate portion is preferably at an included angle of around 120° to 170° with respect to the respective walls of the first and second portions.

Abstract: An elongate drill component for percussive drilling includes a female threaded end having an outer diameter (Dot), a male threaded end, and a central section between the ends having an outer diameter (Doc). The outer diameter of the female threaded end is larger than the outer diameter of the central section. A through-going flushing channel includes a central flushing channel having a diameter (Dic) and thread flushing channels having a diameter (Dit). The ratio of an elastic section modulus of a threaded joint measured when the female threaded end is connected to the male threaded end of an identical component to an elastic section modulus of the central section, St/Sc, is more than 1.5 and in that a ratio of the diameter of the central flushing channel to the outer diameter of the central section, Dic/Doc is between 0.45 and 0.95.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing of a wear resistant component including the steps of providing a form defining at least a portion of the shape of the component; providing a powder mixture comprising 30-70 vol % of a powder of tungsten carbide and 70-30 vol % of a powder of a nickel based alloy, wherein the nickel based alloy consists of, in weight %: C: 0-1.0; Cr: 0-14.0; Si: 2.5-4.5; B: 1.25-3.0; Fe: 1.0-4.5; the balance being Ni and unavoidable impurities, and wherein the powder of tungsten carbide has a particle size of 105-250 ?m and the powder of the nickel based alloy has a maximum particle size of 32 ?m; filling at least a portion of the form with the powder mixture; and subjecting the form to Hot Isostatic Pressing at a predetermined temperature, a predetermined isostatic pressure and a for a predetermined time so that the particles of the nickel-based alloy bond metallurgically to each other.
Abstract: A milling insert, including an upperside, an underside, and a reference plane parallel to the upperside and the underside. A plurality of indexable cutting edges are formed along a peripheral borderline in transitions between at least the upperside and a number of clearance surfaces. Each cutting edge includes a chip-removing main edge and a surface-wiping secondary edge, the secondary edge forming an obtuse angle with the main edge as viewed in planar view from the upperside. The main edge, from a first end of the main edge adjacent to the secondary edge, first declines toward the underside of the milling insert and then, from a lowest part, rises toward an opposite second end of the main edge. The secondary edge is inclined at an angle (?) in relation to the reference plane as viewed perpendicularly to the clearance surface of the secondary edge, such that a first end of the secondary edge connected to the main edge is situated on a lower level than the opposite, second end of the secondary edge.

Abstract: The invention relates to a milling tool for gear milling. The tool body is equipped with tangentially mounted milling inserts having four cutting edges and two holes, only one of which is utilized for a fixing screw in two of totally four index positions. By locating a screw hole in the seat of the milling insert at a distance from the radial support surface of the seat that is greater than the distance between an individual hole and a distal end of the milling insert, a clamping force is provided by means of the inherent elasticity of the fixing screw. In such a way, the milling insert is pressed against the radial support surface. By means of a transversal eccentricity, the milling insert is also pressed against a tangential support surface in the seat. By means of this construction, the two holes in differently long milling inserts can be formed with equally large distances from distal ends. Thereby, one and the same tool body can be equipped with differently long milling inserts.
