  • Patent number: 7924169
Abstract: Device for fastening a sensor on containers with a flexible container wall, in particular mixing bags, comprising a sensor support which is fitted with a sensor, bears against an inner wall of the container wall at least with a rear subsurface averted from the sensor, and is guided with a central piece through an opening in the container wall in which the sensor support is fixed on the container wall by a clamping part which can be connected to the central piece, in which the container wall is clamped between the rear subsurface of the sensor support and on a bearing surface, facing an outer wall of the container, of the clamping part, and in which the rear subsurface bears sealingly against the inner wall of the container wall. The sensor support can also have an electronic or optical transmit unit which is connected to the sensor, in which case the transmit unit communicates in a wireless fashion with a receive unit arranged outside the container.

  • Patent number: 7906737
Abstract: An electronic scale having a measuring sensor (1 . . . 16), a digital signal processing unit (18), a digital display (19) and an inclinometer (40). The inclinometer derives a signal for the tilt of the scale from the difference of at least two signals. The digital signal processing unit (18) is provided with an additional circuit component or program routine that adds the two signals and, by way of this cumulative signal, corrects the vibration-distorted signal of the measuring sensor (1 . . . 16). A plurality of inclinometers enables the simultaneous detection of momentary gravitational acceleration. For example, in an electric bubble level, the gas bubble moves out of place when tilted and the diameter of the gas bubble changes when the gravitational acceleration changes. The scale thus provides an additional signal for correcting the influence of disturbances with minimum complexity.

  • Patent number: 7847202
Abstract: A top-pan scale with a scale pan which is supported on at least one force transducer (7) of a force measurement system (5) and with a corner load sensor which outputs a signal if the weighing goods are positioned eccentrically on the scale pan. The corner load sensor (10) has a flat underside via which it can be placed on, or attached to, the scale pan or a bottom pan of the scale. The corner load sensor also has a flat upper side on which a scale pan (4) can be placed or attached. The corner load sensor (10) is connected to a positionally fixed electronic processor (22) via a force-feedback-free connection (21). Embodiments of the corner load sensor can therefore be used for a wide variety of scale designs and can be retrofitted easily.

  • Patent number: 7839320
Abstract: Measurement amplification methods and devices for detecting a monopolar input signal (UE) by integrating A/D conversion. Before being digitized, the input signal (UE) is inverted according to the so-called Chopper principle and converted into a bipolar intermediate signal (UZ). A reference voltage (Uref) used in A/D conversion undergoes polarity changes synchronized with the polarity changes of the intermediate signal (UZ). Offset and drift are eliminated by totaling an even number of individual measurements.

  • Publication number: 20100271624
Abstract: A weighing scale, e.g. a top-pan scale, having a scale pan (01, 02) supported on a force transducer, and a corner load sensor (03, 04, 06, 08, 09) measuring the tilting of the scale pan (01, 02) relative to the force transducer. The corner load sensor includes a light beam source (03, 04, 06) emitting a first light beam and a second light beam. The first light beam and the second light beam are directed toward a reflecting surface on an underside of an arrangement that includes the scale pan (01, 02). The first light beam and the second light beam are respectively inclined relative to the reflecting surface of the untilted scale pan (01). The corner load sensor (03, 04, 06, 08, 09) of the scale also includes a first optical sensor (08) measuring the first light beam reflected by the reflecting surface. If no corner load exists, a predetermined proportion (12) of the reflected first light beam is directed to the first optical sensor (08).

  • Patent number: 7818891
Abstract: An inclination sensor is provided having a level that has a liquid and a gas bubble under a covering glass in a housing. A light source is arranged above the covering glass. The inclination sensor can be used to determine a direction and degree of an inclination with high accuracy and which is suitable for automatically aligning an apparatus provided with the inclination sensor. An arrangement is provided that has at least two light receivers arranged above the covering glass such that the light that is emitted from the light source and, in the case of a centered gas bubble, is scattered on the surface of the covering glass coming in contact with the gas bubble can be detected by the at least two light receivers. Different quantities of light can be detected by the light receivers when the gas bubble is not centered, and the light source and the light receivers are arranged on a chip substrate.

  • Patent number: 7789293
Abstract: A device for dosing a number of constituents according to a given formula with a scale (1) containing a formula memory. The scale (1) is equipped with a transponder read unit (2), the given formula is storable in a transponder (4) and transmittable to the formula memory with the transponder read unit (2) and the transponder read unit (2) additionally monitors the dosed constituents during the dosing process. The storage containers (6) for the individual constituents are each provided with transponders (7), so that the individual constituents can be identified by the transponder read unit (2). This enables a simple and reliable transmission of the formula data to the formula memory of the scale and monitoring of the dosing process. Furthermore, the scale can be operated in a generally contact-free manner.

  • Publication number: 20100175774
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for metering media (2) and comprises at least one storage vessel (3), a measuring vessel (14) and a target vessel (14) that are interconnected to give one unit. By the exertion of force on the media (2) to be metered they can communicate between the storage vessel (3) and the measuring vessel (4) and can then be transferred to the target vessel (14). The metering volume is determined by the geometry of the measuring vessel (4). The target vessel (14) can be separated from the measuring vessel (4) by severing (welding, gluing, cutting) the connection between (14) and (4). The invention also relates to a method for metering media using the device (1) according to the invention. The device is suitable as a disposable unit and for the sterile metering of media in a non-sterile environment.

  • Patent number: 7753247
Abstract: A surgical stapling device for applying staples in a layer of tissue. A staple magazine is arranged in a device body and contains a plurality of spring loaded, stacked staples. A triggering element moves from a ready position to an actuation position causing an upper die to pick up a staple at an outlet of the staple magazine, to bend the staple feet inwards, and to fold, on an anvil engaging between the staple feet, the ends of a staple cross bar so as to form staple legs. A flat, spring-loaded tongue ejector element extends beneath the anvil. The ejector element is displaced against its direction of transport when the triggering element is moved from a readiness position into the actuation position, and is displaced in its direction of transport when the triggering element returns to the ready position so as to push the applied staple from the anvil.

  • Publication number: 20100170400
Abstract: The invention relates to a waste gas system for bioreactors having a hydrophobic sterile filter, arranged at the end, and a heat exchanger which protects the sterile filter against blocking by liquid media. The gas outflow duct for discharging waste gas from a bioreactor vessel is divided in a cooling zone of the heat exchanger into a multiplicity of subducts and is extended in a heating zone of the heat exchanger to a calming zone. Due to the multiplicity of subducts, a considerably larger surface area for the removal of heat from the waste gas is available, with the result that in the case of laminar flow of the waste gas through the subducts a high effectiveness of the separation of liquids from the waste gas can be achieved.
