  • Publication number: 20100077975
Abstract: A switchable bucket tappet for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine, which has a bucket basic body with a ring-like base. A hollow-cylindrical projection protrudes from an inner edge of the base, and in the bore of the projection an inner body extends. Two coupler pistons lie opposite one another and, to achieve a full valve stroke, engage in sections with a driver surface of the bucket basic body which run in a radial hole of the inner body. A zero valve stroke is achieved when the coupler piston is displaced completely into the radial hole of the inner body, which is baseless and free of contact with a cam. The projection has a window-like aperture, with the underside acting as the driver surface for an upper side of the coupler piston during coupling. The region of the base is an approximately symmetrical and continuously thin-walled formation.

  • Patent number: 7686717
Abstract: A tensioner for a traction drive includes a cylinder arranged in a housing at a distance to a housing wall to thereby define an interior space which contains hydraulic fluid. A piston is received in the cylinder for back-and-forth movement and bounds a pressure chamber containing hydraulic fluid. The piston has a cylinder-distal end which is operatively connected to a spring-biased tension roller supported on a traction member. Formed between the piston and the cylinder is a leakage gap, and a reservoir for hydraulic fluid is provided in an area of the leakage gap to prevent ingress of air into the pressure chamber, when the traction drive is at a rest.

  • Publication number: 20100061672
Abstract: A bearing assembly for a shaft or similar that is axially guided with precision in a housing. The shaft is stressed to differing degrees and/or for different periods of time in the two axial directions. The bearing assembly has a single-row angular contact ball bearing and a single-row cylindrical roller bearing. The angular contact ball bearing is designed to receive the greater main axial load that is exerted during operation, whilst the smaller axial force that acts in opposition is absorbed by the cylindrical roller bearing in addition to the radial forces. The quantity of equipment required to absorb the small axial force that in general is only exerted periodically can be kept to a minimum. In addition, a predefined axial play is pre-set in the unit and a defined lateral ring overhang is set between the inner and outer ring.

  • Publication number: 20100061675
Abstract: A radial anti-friction bearing, which has an outer and inner bearing race with an inner and outer raceway and cylinder rollers that roll on the raceways between the bearing races and which are held at equal distances to each other in the peripheral direction by a bearing cage. To prevent slip, the cylinder rollers are replaced by hollow rollers, which have a larger outside diameter and lower modulus of elasticity. The dimensions of the bearing races, cylinder rollers and hollow rollers are configured such that both the cylinder and hollow rollers initially have a defined radial bearing clearance in the non-installed state of the radial anti-friction bearing, and the pretension necessary for the continuous drive of the bearing cage is adjusted on the hollow rollers only once the radial anti-friction bearing has been installed, while simultaneously reducing the radial bearing clearance at the cylinder rollers.

  • Publication number: 20100054650
Abstract: A radial roller bearing for storing shafts in wind turbine transmissions, which has an external bearing ring with an inner runway, an internal bearing ring arranged coaxial thereto provided with an external runway, and a plurality of roller bodies that displace on the runways between the bearing rings held at regular intervals by a bearing cage. To prevent slip, the roller bodies are replaced by hollow rollers that have a greater diameter and a smaller elasticity module than the roller bodies ensuring, when the radial roller bearing is in the load-free state, permanent contact with the bearing rings, a permanent drive of the bearing cage and that the roller bodies have kinematic rotation. The hollow rollers have a higher bending strength, and their internal cover surface has a maximum surface roughness of Rz?25 ?m preventing localized peaks of tension, without any disaggregation in the axial direction.
