  • Publication number: 20100048334
Abstract: A hydraulic tensioner intended for use in chain drives of internal combustion engines. The hydraulic tensioner has a pot-shaped housing in which a piston is elastically suspended against a traction element and guided for longitudinal displacement. A damping device forms a leak gap which serves to damp adjusting movements of the piston. The leak gap is defined by a bushing which is inserted into the housing and, at the same time, guides the piston. During an adjusting movement of the piston towards a pressure chamber filled with a hydraulic fluid, a fractional quantity of the hydraulic fluid is displaced via the leak gap. An adjusting movement of the piston in the opposite direction causes a re-flow of the hydraulic fluid via a one-way valve arranged in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20100038202
Abstract: A freewheel cage, which has a basic body with two annular, substantially radially extending edge disks which are connected to one another by a plurality of axially running connecting pieces which are adjacent to one another in the circumferential direction, as a result of which, intermediate spaces for at least partially holding clamp bodies are formed, and at least one means for fastening the basic body to a freewheel. The means is formed as at least one separate component is arranged on at least one of the edge disks. By this design, it is obtained that the basic body for the freewheel cage is produced with reduced expenditure, and subsequently, the means for fastening the basic body to a freewheel can, as a separate component, be produced, and arranged on the basic body for fastening to a freewheel, with likewise correspondingly reduced expenditure.

  • Publication number: 20100040318
Abstract: A clamping roller freewheel, which has an inner ring, an outer ring and clamping rollers arranged between the inner ring and outer ring. The clamping rollers interact, in each case, with one clamping ramp formed on the outer circumference of the inner ring. The clamping rollers are surrounded by an elastically expandable protective ring which is concentric with respect to the freewheel axis. Retaining lugs prevent the protective ring from being driven in rotation by the outer ring in idle running operation. In this way, the outer ring is prevented from grinding against the clamping rollers, and the clamping rollers are prevented from being driven in rotation, with the resulting wear to the clamping ramps, in idle running operation.

  • Patent number: 7658547
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial roller bearing, having an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring, and rolling bodies located between the rings. Some of the rollers are formed by individual hollow rollers of a shape memory alloy. The cross-section of the shape memory alloy rollers is deformed during the assembly of the radial roller bearing to fit the dimensions of the free space between the rims of the rings. The rollers are introduced into the radial roller bearing through the free space between the rims of the bearing rings. After introduction into the radial roller bearing and once they have reached a specific temperature, the rollers independently regain their original shape.
