  • Patent number: 10730226
Abstract: A method for preparing a pyroelectric polymer film based on a combined process of solution casting and uniaxial stretching is disclosed. The pyroelectric polymer film is firstly prepared by solution casting, afterwards, the casted film is subjected to uniaxial stretching when the film is in a semi-cured state (wet film). Thus a larger stretching ratio (>10) at a lower temperature (even at room temperature) is realized. Without undergoing a further poling process, the as-stretched film does have a fairly, good pyroelectric performance. Moreover, the surface of the stretched film is smoother and has fewer surface defects.

  • Patent number: 10735887
Abstract: A spatial audio processing system operable to enable audio signals to be spatially extracted from, or transmitted to, discrete locations within an acoustic space. Embodiments of the present disclosure enable an array of transducers being installed in an acoustic space to combine their signals via inverting physical and environmental models that are measured, learned, tracked, calculated, or estimated. The models may be combined with a whitening filter to establish a cooperative or non-cooperative information-bearing channel between the array and one or more discrete, targeted physical locations in the acoustic space by applying the inverted models with whitening filter to the received or transmitted acoustical signals. The spatial audio processing system may utilize a model of the combination of direct and indirect reflections in the acoustic space to receive or transmit acoustic information, regardless of ambient noise levels, reverberation, and positioning of physical interferers.

  • Patent number: 10735765
Abstract: A panoramic video stream is compressed. Sinusoidal projection is performed on spherical input images to generate pseudo-cylindrical projection images. A lower-left region and a lower-right region of the image are cut and moved to upper corners of the rectangular bounding box around the pseudo-cylindrical projection image. These upper corners are non-effective areas of default dark pixels with no image pixels. A bottom one-third of the rows of pixels from the image that contained the moved regions are deleted, compressing the image by 33%. Default dark pixels in interface regions between the moved regions and the pseudo-cylindrical projection image are linear interpolated to provide gradual changes in pixel values across the remaining formerly non-effective regions, preventing encoding artifacts caused by abrupt changes in pixel values. Functions may be implemented using lookup tables.

  • Patent number: 10734239
Abstract: Directed self-assembly (DSA) using block copolymers (BCPs) is emerging as a viable alternative to photolithography for creating features 10 nm and smaller. Block copolymers with balanced surface energy between the polymer blocks, tunable ?, and tunable glass transition temperatures (Tg) have been formulated. The block copolymers can achieve perpendicular orientation by simple thermal annealing due to the surface energy balance between the polymer blocks, which allows avoiding solvent annealing or top-coat. The ? value can be tuned up to achieve L0 as low as 12 nm for lamellar-structured BCPs and hole/pillar size as small as 6 nm for cylinder-structured BCPs. The Tg of the BCPs can also be tuned to lower than those of PS-b-PMMA standards. The enhanced polymer chain mobility resulting from the decreased Tg of the block copolymer may help with improving the kinetics of BCP self-assembly during the thermal annealing.

  • Patent number: 10730010
Abstract: The invention is a device and method for purifying sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide in flue gas with an electrolysis-chemical advanced oxidation enhanced ammonia method. The device includes a thermal activation reactor, ammonium hydroxide storage tank, absorption tower, electrolytic bath and crystallization separator. The method takes raw material part of an ammonium sulfate solution that is a reaction product of ammonia and sulfur oxide in flue gas, and an ammonium persulfate solution prepared by electrolysis of an electrolytic bath as an oxidant to enhance the efficiency of purifying sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide in the flue gas with an ammonia method. A thermal activation reactor activates an ammonium persulfate containing solution to generate a strong oxidizing SO4.?, so that NOx and SO2 in the flue gas may be more efficiently converted into a product having higher solubleness for enhanced removal of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide in the flue gas.

  • Patent number: 10734638
Abstract: An immobilized selenium body, made from carbon and selenium and optionally sulfur, makes selenium more stable, requiring a higher temperature or an increase in kinetic energy for selenium to escape from the immobilized selenium body and enter a gas system, as compared to selenium alone. Immobilized selenium localized in a carbon skeleton can be utilized in a rechargeable battery. Immobilization of the selenium can impart compression stress on both the carbon skeleton and the selenium. Such compression stress enhances the electrical conductivity in the carbon skeleton and among the selenium particles and creates an interface for electrons to be delivered and or harvested in use of the battery. A rechargeable battery made from immobilized selenium can be charged or discharged at a faster rate over conventional batteries and can demonstrate excellent cycling stability.
