Abstract: A method of locating a coal-rock main fracture by an electromagnetic radiation from a precursor of a coal-rock dynamic disaster is provided. At least four groups of three-component electromagnetic sensors are arranged in the underground tunnels, and each group of sensors includes three directive antennas for receiving electromagnetic signals orthogonal to each other. The electromagnetic signals are collected by a monitoring host. The signals are ensured to be received by different sensors synchronously via an atomic clock. The direction of the magnetic field line is determined by performing a vector superposition on strengths of the three-component electromagnetic signals of each group of sensors. The planes of electromagnetic wave propagation perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field line are determined accordingly. The location of the coal-rock fracture is determined by the intersection point of the planes of electromagnetic wave propagation determined by the multiple groups of sensors.

Abstract: The present invention provides a gold mine cyanide tailing disposal method using paste technology belonging to the technical field of mining. The disposal method firstly performs a harmless decyanation treatment on a cyanide tailing slurry obtained from a mineral processing plant, and then performs a resource treatment where a cyanide tailing slurry is subjected to a thickening to obtain a higher concentration. When a backfill is needed, a paste is produced by adding a cementing material after a homogenized stirring of a two-stage horizontal agitator pumped to an underground mining site for filling by a plunger pump. The cementing material is to solidify an underflow and prevent cyanide from being filtered out. When a backfill is not needed, the paste is directly delivered to an open storage area for storing by the plunger pump.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that may provide audio information about an environment around a wearable device. Such audio information may be correlated with other biometric data to provide physiological information, e.g. regarding a wearer of the wearable device. For example, an illustrative method includes receiving an audio signal via a microphone of a wearable device and rectifying the audio signal with a peak detector. The method further includes amplifying the rectified signal with a logarithmic amplifier and causing an analog to digital converter (ADC) to sample the logarithmic signal. The method also includes causing the ADC to convert the sampled logarithmic signal to a digital output and storing the digital output in a memory of the wearable device. In some embodiments, the method includes transmitting the digital output to a computing device, which may correlate the digital output with other biometric data.

A back-gate voltage varies a height and a top-gate voltage varies a width of the Schottky barrier. The FET can be programmed to work in two operating modes-tunnelling (providing low power consumption) and thermionic mode (providing high performance). The FET can also be programmed to combine the tunnelling and thermionic mode in a single operating cycle, yielding high performance with low power consumption.
Abstract: A method for determining a grouping of segments within a market. The method includes forming a bias mitigated square matrix from a square matrix populated with second choice data, and forming a compressed matrix from the bias mitigated square matrix. Each different segment is initially associated with a row of the square matrix and a column of the square matrix. The method also includes determining a matrix consistency score for the compressed matrix, forming at least one additional compressed matrix from the bias mitigated square matrix, and determining matrix consistency scores for each additional compressed matrix. The method further includes determining which matrix consistency score is best.
Abstract: An EWOD device includes a first and second substrate assemblies, and a spacer that spaces apart the first substrate assembly from the second substrate assembly to define a channel between them. The spacer defines fluid input ports that are in fluid communication with the channel, and the spacer is configured for directing fluid from the fluid input ports into the channel. The spacer has a combed spacer configuration to define the fluid input ports, including alternating teeth that extend into the channel from a base region, and the teeth isolate adjacent fluid input ports from each other. The spacer may contact only a portion of the first and second substrate assemblies to form a spacerless region within the EWOD device, and the spacer includes regions that are in contact with both the first and second substrate assemblies and extend into the channel to define a cell-gap of the channel.
