  • Patent number: 4133446
Abstract: A cover for a drinking vessel of heat-insulating material comprising a cylindrical wall with elements at its lower end which cooperate with complemental elements at the upper end of a drinking vessel to provide a detachable bayonet joint. Integral with the upper end portion of the cylindrical wall is an inclined flat wall formed with a drinking opening and a relief vent in diametric alignment. Depending from the inclined wall substantially midway between said opening and vent are a pair of spaced lugs each having a journal recess opening onto its lower edge. A lever has a pair of studs extending from its opposite side faces and received in said recesses with snap fits. Upstanding from one end of the lever is an arm which projects through the drinking opening and carries a valve member on its upper end which is of greater extent than said drinking opening and normally engages the upper surface of the inclined wall about the drinking opening.

  • Patent number: 4094433
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an enclosed cup like drinking receptacle having a cover provided with a drinking opening therein which is disposed near the peripheral portion of the cover; the drinking opening being controlled by a liquid dispensing valve and a pneumatic pressure relief valve, both carried by a common manual actuator such that both valves are moved in unison and the dispensing valve being moveable relative to its seat a short distance without breaking its seal relative to said seat and to provide for sufficient movement of the pressure relief or vent valve to vent pneumatic pressure from the interior of said receptacle and cover so as to prevent unwarrented flow of hot beverages or the like through said dispensing valve and said drinking opening and thereby allowing a person to drink through said drinking opening with the normal flow of a hot beverage or other beverage therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4090911
Abstract: An apparatus for laminating articles with plastic of the type having supply rolls, pressure rollers and pull rollers through which a web of plastic is drawn. Heat shoes heat the plastic prior to the pressure rollers to cause an adhesive side to become fluent. The heat shoes have a large heating surface and are filled with sand. A plenum chamber directs cooling air onto the bonded web between the pressure rollers and pull rollers. The upper rollers are carried by a spring biased slide while the lower rollers are journaled to the frame. An eccentric mechanism mounted in the slide lifts the slide and upper rollers for threading and cleaning. A threaded linking member is attached between the slide and the top of the frame for incrementally lifting the upper pressure roller to allow single side lamination.

  • Patent number: 4032159
Abstract: An interference compression seal comprising a delta-shaped seal of relatively soft elastomeric material adapted to be placed in a groove between relatively moving machine parts with the apex of the delta directed radially outwardly creating a line seal and a pair of somewhat triangularly shaped anti-extrusion rings of rigid synthetic resinous material respectively engaging one of the sloped or bevelled surfaces (diagonal sides) of the delta-shaped seal.

  • Patent number: 4012269
Abstract: A water bed for supporting a body thereon and which comprises upper and lower flat plastic sheets. A first rectangularly shaped continuous peripheral wall extends between and is sealed to the upper and lower sheets to form a water chamber therebetween. The first continuous wall is formed by adjoining four endwise connected segments along four rectangularly spaced corner margin. Each corner margin is formed by heat sealing two adjacent wall segments in the form of an arcuate shape with a reinforcing strip disposed over the corner margin and lap sealed to the two adjacent wall segments. The upper and lower walls extend beyond the first continuous peripheral wall and have flaps which extend in a vertically disposed direction to form a second continuous peripheral wall. These flaps are also lap sealed to each other in order to form the second continuous peripheral wall which thereby forms an air chamber surrounding the water chamber.
