Abstract: The wrapper is made from a sheet of semi-rigid and foldable material such as paperboard and has two surfaces which are cut-out of the sheet. The two surfaces are applied respectively against the internal face and the external face of the bottom of the utensil. The surfaces are joined to each other by means of four tongues spaced at intervals around the lateral wall of the utensil. The tongues cover the free edge of the side wall and are applied against the internal and external faces of the wall.
Abstract: The device comprises a steam-escape duct (1) terminated by a valve-seat (3, 4). A shut-off surface (71, 72), realized in a cap (65) at the bottom of an axial cavity (8) slidably mounted on the duct (1), rests, in the service conditions, on the seat (3, 4). The cap (65) is weighted such that its center of gravity is located below the seat (3, 4). The axial cavity (8) is connected to the outside by two eccentric vents (70) causing the cap (65) to rotate by reaction of the steam which traverses them as soon as the cooking-pressure is reached.The device comprises an element (73) permanently attached to the cap (65) and manually displaceable between two positions each of which determines a different lifting pressure for the cap (65) in relation to the duct (1).Use for permitting easy adaptation of the cooking pressure to the kind of food.
Abstract: Microfiches to be destroyed by heat treatment are placed within a disposable tube fitted with a sealing plug, then baked to a sufficient temperature to cause melting and discarded. The apparatus comprises an electric heating resistor and a tubular heating jacket for receiving the disposable tube, the sealing plug being forcibly engaged in the tube by means of a cap which is screwed down by hand. All negative sheets and documents having a photosensitive surface such as microfiches are destroyed economically without any contaminating waste products.
Abstract: The portable water purifier comprises a rotary filtering vessel which is surrounded by a compartment designed to collect the water filtered through the lateral wall of the filtering vessel, this vessel being rotatably mounted on its axis of revolution. It also comprises a rotary drive member whose output shaft is made fastened to the rotary filtering vessel and a flow pipe for the filtered water which communicates with the outside and with the bottom of the compartment for collecting the filtered water, and a container for the water to be filtered including means enabling the water to be passed into the rotary vessel.
Abstract: The slicer for food products comprises a circular blade 2 mounted to rotate in a support-means 1, and a base 4 comprising a surface 5 for the accommodation of the product to be sliced, the said surface running substantially parallel with axis of rotation X-X' of blade 2. Base 4 is hinged along axis Y-Y' in relation to support-means 1 and comprises, at 8, a fractioning element, such as a grater and/or shaver, rotating about an axis Z-Z' at right angles to surface 5 of base 4, the said axis being located in a plane at right angles to axis Y-Y' of base 4 and passing through axis of rotation X-X' of the blade. Fractioning element 9 is provided with means for coupling it, in rotation, to blade 2, after base 4 has been pivoted towards blade support means 1.
Abstract: The water injection device for a steam iron comprises a plunger which is capable of axial displacement over a predetermined range of travel within the orifice of a nozzle which is formed of elastic material and closely encircles the plunger. The nozzle orifice provides a communication between a water reservoir and a vaporization chamber. A longitudinal groove is formed along part of the length of the plunger. The range of travel of the plunger is such that the two ends of the groove are located on each side of the nozzle orifice in the injection position and are located on one side of the orifice in the closed position.

Abstract: The steam iron comprises a water reservoir fitted with a device for injecting water into a vaporization chamber which occupies substantially the entire space formed between the two arms of a U-shaped electric heating resistor and extends to the level of the rear edge of the sole-plate. The vaporization chamber communicates with a distribution chamber by means of recesses formed in the top edge of a partition-wall in the rear portion of the iron. Vaporization takes place on all the chamber walls and the maximum flow path is provided for the vapor, thereby minimizing scale formation.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a vessel adapted to receive a liquid, and which vessel has a drive shaft extending through the bottom of the vessel from an electric motor below the vessel to a rotary cutting or grinding blade or the like within the vessel, with a seal being provided to seal the vessel with respect to the drive shaft, has a safety device in the form of a cut-out switch which is normally held in its closed position by a plate of water-absorbent, cellulose-fibre based material disposed below the seal. Any aqueous liquid leaking from the seal will wet the plate reducing its strength and allowing the plate to bend to allow the cutout switch to move, under resilient bias to an open position, thus cutting off the supply of electrical current to the electric motor.
