  • Patent number: 5138778
Abstract: A non-scaling electric steam iron has a heating sole plate (1), a steam chamber (3), a water reservoir (5), a feed device (6) for supplying water to the steam chamber, and a demineralizing cartridge (7) placed in the water circuit which connects the reservoir (5) to the steam chamber (3). The demineralizing cartridge (7) is placed in a removable manner between the primary plain-water reservoir (5) and a secondary demineralized-water reservoir (25) which communicates with the water feed device (6). The cartridge (7) communicates with the Primary reservoir (5) and the secondary reservoir (25) by the use of valves (27a,27b) which prevent any outflow of water when the cartridge is removed from the iron.

  • Patent number: 4995312
Abstract: A plastic skirt (3) surrounding a metal pan (1) is employed for external heat-insulation of electrically-heated cooking appliances and in particular deep fryers. The skirt (3) is of plastic material which does not continuously withstand the temperature of the pan wall (1a, 1b) and is separated from this wall by an air space (4) of sufficient width to limit the temperature of the skirt (3). The skirt is completely free with respect to the pan (1) with the exception of a ring (5) which joins the top edge (3a) of the skirt to the top edge (1c) of the pan and to which this latter is attached. The ring (5) is of heat-insulating material which affords continuous resistance to the temperature of the top edge (1c) of the pan (1).

  • Patent number: 4962299
Abstract: For the purpose of effecting the thermal control of a heating apparatus the temperature is allowed to rise to a value lower than a predetermined maximum temperature (TM), whereupon, after stopping the heating, the temperature is allowed to rise through thermal inertia until the aforesaid maximum temperature (TM) is substantially reached, the difference (E) between said maximum temperature and the temperature (TC) at which heating is stopped being determined in dependence on the profile of the temperature rise curve during the heating period.Utilization in particular in cooking utensils.

  • Patent number: 4913338
Abstract: A process for producing a heating plate involves fastening a tubular heating element (1) to a plate (2) made of metal or metal alloy. A plate (2) made of rolled metal or metal alloy is used, and cold-stamped in this plate is a shoulder (3), the contour of which corresponds substantially to the contour of the tubular heating element (1). The tubular heating element (1) is placed against the shoulder (3) and fastened to the plate by soldering. The thickness of the central part of the plate (2) is sufficient to withstand the thermal stresses which it must undergo. The process is especially useful for producing a heating sole of a steam-operated smoothing iron.

  • Patent number: 4912300
Abstract: The control device (25) comprises a thermostat (15) interconnected between a supply source (S) and a heating resistor (4) which comprises two heating elements (41, 42), one of which (42) is supplied only during one of the heating regimes. A temperature limiter (18) is interconnected between the source (S) and the heating element (42). This temperature limiter is sensitive to the heat produced by a resistor (17) having a high resistance value so as to cut-off the supply of said heating element (42) at the time of initial opening of the switch (15a) of the thermostat (15). The device (25) is particularly applicable to electric convectors having a natural convection regime and a blowing regime.
