  • Patent number: 9805396
Abstract: Playback of a tagged audio stream at mobile communications device, or other processing device, can be controlled transparently to a user of the device by implementing multiple instances of a media player. A Spot Caching Instance of the media player can receive and cache an untagged content stream from an advertisement server. A Content Playback Instance of the media player can be used to play back and process a tagged content stream from a radio station to identify tags. When the Content Playback Instance detects a tag, it transfers control to an Ad Spot Playback Instance of the media player, which can play back part or all of the untagged content stream from cache. When playback of the untagged content stream is completed, the Ad Spot Playback Instance transfers control back to the Content Playback Instance.

  • Patent number: 9807429
Abstract: The implementation provides for controlled dynamic content replacement within media content. The media content is encoded in its original form with markers marking segments for time or condition triggered replacement. Each marker is provided a type. A request link is generated for requesting the media content. The link encodes control data for the different marker types. In response to a media content request, the server scans encoded chunks of the media content for markers. From the request link, the server obtains the control data for an identified marker type and determines whether to replace the content based on triggering of the control data. This allows advertising content to remain as part of the media content until reaching a certain number of impressions or a certain time. Thereafter, the content is dynamically replaced with temporally relevant content or other content from an ongoing campaign during real-time media content playback.

  • Patent number: 9802863
Abstract: Fast-setting Portland cement compositions for filling voids, such as mine shafts and excavated utility trenches, are described. The Portland cement compositions set quickly and are useful when traditional slow setting compositions are less desirable. The acceleration of the set time results from the addition of dry calcium chloride to the Portland cement composition. The compositions consist of Portland cement, dry calcium chloride, water and sometimes preformed cellular foam. Some compositions can include also include fly ash. The compositions may have a compressive strength of between 0 psi and 30 psi after 4 hours, a compressive strength of between 30 psi and 120 psi after 24 hours, a compressive strength of between 200 psi and 500 psi after 28 days, a penetration resistance of between 0.1 tsf and 5 tsf after 10 hours, a penetration resistance of between 0.8 tsf and 10 tsf after 24 hours, and a removability modulus of between 0.2 and 1.0 after 28 days.

  • Publication number: 20170306746
Abstract: A formation monitoring well system accurately measures formation electrical properties behind the casing to determine water-oil contact positions and/or to assess the integrity of the cement seal over the life of the well. The well system includes a casing string having one or more formation monitoring modules embedded therein, each having a toroid sensor. During operation, current is provided to the casing string, and the toroid measures the current flowing into the formation. Also, the voltage drop between the sensor and an electrode positioned between the cement layer and formation may be measured. This data may then be processed to determine the resistivities of the formation and/or cement layer, whereby the cement seal quality, water-oil contact surface position, etc. may be extracted from the results.
