Abstract: An exemplary method includes a media service provider system providing a browse view for display on a display screen associated with a user during a first media consumption session, detecting a selection by the user of a planning option, the selection of the planning option indicating that the user plans to consume at least one media program during a second media consumption session that is subsequent to the first media consumption session, presenting a user interface that allows the user to specify one or more parameters associated with the second media consumption session, detecting user input specifying the one or more parameters, identifying one or more media programs that are available for consumption by the user during the second media consumption session, and presenting listing information associated with the identified one or more media programs. Corresponding systems and methods are also described.

Abstract: A system and method of granting a service authorization to a service provider in a regulating or funding agency of a first organization to access one or more individual's information in a second organization, where a service authorization comprises an authorization to access information and to provide specific services from said regulating or funding agency, the request for service authorization coming from an organization from an individual, patent or guardian of the individual, or regulating or funding organization, for service to be provided to an individual whose private information is stored within the second organization. A system for approving or rejecting the service authorization requests is provided based on authorization of the service provider, as well as a system and method for recording and sharing the outcomes of all decisions with the organization. If a service authorization is approved, it may be integrated into the organization's own workflow.

Abstract: A low-polymer-load fracturing fluid may include an aqueous carrier fluid, proppant, and polymer-treated degradable fibers. The polymer-treated degradable fibers may include degradable fibers that have been at least partially treated with a crosslinkable, hydratable polymer. In some instances, a method may involve placing a low-polymer-load fracturing fluid having an initial viscosity into a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore at a rate to generate pressure above fracture gradient to form or enhance at least one fracture in the formation matrix surrounding a designated portion of the wellbore; placing the low-polymer-load fracturing fluid into the fracture and allowing the polymer to crosslink and increase the initial viscosity to a gelled viscosity; and allowing the polymer-treated degradable fibers to degrade and reduce the gelled viscosity to a broken viscosity.

A system for obtaining pricing information comprises at least one subsystem that electronically reads a price of a product using a mobile device scanning a display screen, at least one subsystem that searches for other available products and price data to compare to the electronically read price and product data, at least one subsystem that compares the price data of the other products to the electronically read price data, and at least one subsystem that presents purchase options based upon results of the comparison of the price and product data.

Abstract: Methods and systems pertaining secure transaction systems are disclosed. In one implementation, a verification token is associated with a computer and can send user authentication data as well as a secure datum to a control server. The verification token may obtain the secure datum from a validation entity. The control server can validate the secure datum and authentication data and can generate a payer authentication response.

Abstract: A device may receive sensor data from a sensor device located on a particular farm. The device may identify an alert, associated with the particular farm, based on the sensor data and using a model. The model may be created based on imagery data and numeric data relating to a group of farms. The device may determine, using the model, a recommended course of action to address the alert, and provide, to a user device associated with the particular farm, the recommended course of action.

Abstract: A directional drilling system includes a bottomhole assembly having a drill bit and a steering tool configured to adjust a drilling direction in real-time. The system also includes a first feedback loop that provides a first steering control signal to the steering tool, and a second feedback loop that provides a second steering control signal to the steering tool. The system also includes a set of sensors to measure at least one of strain and movement at one or more points along the bottom-hole assembly during drilling, wherein the first and second steering control signals are based in part on the strain or movement measurements.

Abstract: A blank assembly for forming a folded-cap container includes a first blank of sheet material that includes a pair of end panels, a pair of side panels, and a plurality of corner panels connected in series along a plurality of fold lines. Each of the end panels and side panels has a bottom edge that is substantially aligned with the respective bottom edges of the other end panels and side panels. Also, each of the four corner panels has a bottom free edge that is offset towards a central horizontal axis of the first blank from the bottom edges of the end panels and side panels. The blank assembly also includes a second blank of sheet material that includes a top panel and a lifting panel connected by a fold line. Abstract: A logging while drilling tool for measuring a geological formation surrounding a wellbore includes a tool body having one or more sensor pads. Each sensor pad is coupled to the tool body by an extendable coupling that is operable to adjust the radial position of the sensor pad by extending away from or retracting toward the tool body. One or more sensors are mounted to each sensor pads and the sensors are operable to obtain a measurement a property of the formation. The tool also includes a downhole control unit having a transmitter and receiver. The downhole control unit is operable to receive the measurement and transmit the measurement to a surface controller, wherein the transmitted measurement indicates a measurement resolution.

Abstract: Downhole nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods that utilize oleophilic nanoparticle may allow for differentiation of light oil and oil-based filtrates. For example, a method may involve drilling a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation using an oil-based drilling fluid that comprises an oil base fluid and a plurality of oleophilic nanoparticles; performing a plurality of NMR measurements at a plurality of depths of investigation (DOI) of a near-wellbore portion of the subterranean formation; and producing an invasion profile of an oil-based drilling fluid filtrate into the near-wellbore portion of the subterranean formation based on the plurality of NMR measurements.

Abstract: A method of plugging a flow passage in a well can include conveying a plug into an isolation tool in the well, and then contracting a plug seat of the isolation tool. An isolation tool for plugging a flow passage in a subterranean well can include a piston, and a longitudinally displaceable plug seat. The plug seat longitudinally displaces in response to displacement of the piston. Another method of plugging a flow passage can include conveying a plug into an isolation tool in the well, and then longitudinally displacing a plug seat of the isolation tool, thereby radially contracting the plug seat.

Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a downhole drilling tool comprises a bit body, a blade on an exterior portion of the bit body, and a gage pad on the blade. The gage pad includes a ball retainer and a ball located in the ball retainer such that an exposed portion of the ball is positioned to contact a wellbore and rotate in response to frictional engagement with the wellbore.

Abstract: An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and method for managing power flow in a grid-tied photovoltaic system, wherein the UPS provides grid-tie, backup power, voltage-frequency relay, power factor control, and load-leveling functions. The UPS includes a bi-directional power converter, a switch, and a controller. The converter converts between AC power and DC power, and includes ports which are connectable to a battery, a plurality of current-source inverters, a load, and an electric utility grid. The switch selectively connects and disconnects the converter from the grid. The controller monitors the voltage and current associated with the grid, and based thereon, controls the switch and the bi-directional power converter to manage power flow in the grid-tied photovoltaic system. The controller also manages the power factor of the current flowing into or out of the grid by introducing appropriate distortion or displacement current.

Abstract: Some embodiments increase throughput across a connection between a host and a client by initializing the congestion window for that connection dynamically using a previously settled value from a prior instance of the connection established between the same or similar endpoints. An initialization agent tracks congestion window values for previously established connections between a host and various clients. For the tracked congestion window values of each monitored connection, the initialization agent stores an address identifying the client endpoint. When establishing a new connection, the initialization agent determines if the new connection is a recurring connection. A new connection is recurring when the new connection client address is similar or related to an address identified for a previous monitored connection.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for processing insurance claims in a manner that reduces or eliminates a need for an adjuster to visit an insured person or property of the insured person. The method includes receiving a query from an insured regarding a claim and determining if the insured has a mobile device with a video camera capable of streaming video to the insurance claim processing system. If a mobile device capable of streaming video is available, the system generates an electronic invitation to a one-way streaming video session and transmits the electronic invitation to the mobile device. Upon acceptance, the system initiates the one-way video session, receives real-time streaming video, and appends received video from the real-time streaming video to a claim workfile. In alternative implementations, the system can remotely control the camera and other features of the mobile device during the one-way streaming video session.
