Abstract: A method and system for cementing a tubular and mud motor in a wellbore utilizing burst disks above the mud motor. The burst disks rupture to permit the cement to flow through the burst disks and bypass the mud motor. All of the burst disks reliably rupture at a predetermined and known threshold pressure so as to permit cement to be pumped at a desired rate through all of the ruptured burst disks. Each burst disk is provided with a cover for maintaining a chamber of a known pressure between the cap and the burst disk. All of the burst disks predictably and reliably rupture at the rated pressure.

Abstract: Chimeric flaviviruses that are avirulent and immunogenic are provided. The chimeric viruses are constructed to contain amino acid mutations in the nonstructural viral proteins of a flavivirus. Chimeric viruses containing the attenuation-mutated nonstructural genes of the virus are used as a backbone into which the structural genes of a second flavivirus strain are inserted. These chimeric viruses elicit pronounced immunogenicity yet lack the accompanying clinical symptoms of viral disease. The attenuated chimeric viruses are effective as immunogens or vaccines and may be combined in a pharmaceutical composition to confer simultaneous immunity against several strains of pathogenic flaviviruses.

Abstract: A device, medium and method for de-blending seismic data associated with a subsurface of the earth. The method includes a step of receiving seismic data “d” recorded with one or more land receivers, wherein the seismic data includes shot recordings generated by plural sources that are simultaneously actuated; a step of forming either a continuous receiver trace or trace segments from the received seismic data; a step of selecting plural overlapping spatial blocks that cover the surface shot locations; a step of assigning the shot recordings to the plural overlapping spatial blocks; a step of applying a mathematical technique to the recordings to determine de-blended data; and a step of generating an image of the subsurface based on the de-blended data.

Abstract: The computer apparatus and methods of the preferred embodiment uses computer technology in a unique way to motivate children to devote more time to educational and cultural enrichment. In the preferred embodiment, educational material is provided at a child's local computer under control of a central computer system connected to it over a computer network. On completing a particular educational task, the child is rewarded with a certain number of points. Points that the child accumulates are stored centrally, and at least some of the points can be redeemed towards the purchase of goods and services offered through the system of the preferred embodiment by its commercial participants. The purchasing transactions are also administered by the central computer. Parents, preferably, use the system to support their children's purchasing activity financially and to select content available for presentation to the child.

Abstract: A number inventory system is disclosed. The number inventory system manages the relationships between SIM cards, IMSI numbers, and MSISDN for a mobile telecommunications service provider. The number inventory system provides the software and hardware for receiving SIM card inventory data, including associated IMSI numbers, and efficiently stores the SIM card inventory data in a database. The number inventory system further provides for the opening of a range of available MSISDN. SIM cards, IMSI and MSISDN may be assigned to customer orders, and the number inventory system manages the associations between IMSI numbers and MSISDN and monitors the status of SIM cards, IMSI numbers and MSISDN. The number inventory system may also manage an MSISDN classification system for identifying MSISDN numbers having various desirable sequence characteristics.

Abstract: Methods and systems for facilitating distribution of application functionality across a multi-tier client-server architecture are provided. According to one embodiment, a method is provided for instantiating a DataMap. A data store interface reads a set of definitions and instructions from a datastore that describe the structure of the DataMap. The data store interface interprets the set of definitions and instructions to instantiate the DataMap. According to another embodiment, a method is provided for indexing into a DataMap. A data store interface receives an expression. The data store interface parses the expression to identify a set of keys suitable for indexing into the DataMap and corresponding DataPoints.

Abstract: A system and method for associating payments with spending vehicles so that an individual who is entitled to receive periodic or special payments such as social security checks receives in place of the payment a spending vehicle such as a discount card, rebate, or coupon for use with purchases of the sponsor's products or services. Sponsors include companies and organizations interested in offering purchase incentives to their customers. An individual who wishes to receive a spending vehicle rather than the regular payment selects the spending vehicle he or she would like to receive. The individual then assigns his or her right to receive the payment to a third party. The third party then arranges to give a spending vehicle to the individual and to transfer the individual's payment to the sponsor of the spending vehicle. The third party may take a portion of the payment as compensation for the service.

Abstract: Streaming voice signals, such as might be received at a contact center or similar operation, are analyzed to detect the occurrence of one or more unprompted, predetermined utterances. The predetermined utterances preferably constitute a vocabulary of words and/or phrases having particular meaning within the context in which they are uttered. Detection of one or more of the predetermined utterances during a call causes a determination of response-determinative significance of the detected utterance(s). Based on the response-determinative significance of the detected utterance(s), a responsive action may be further determined. Additionally, long term storage of the call corresponding to the detected utterance may also be initiated. Conversely, calls in which no predetermined utterances are detected may be deleted from short term storage.

Abstract: There is provided a method and system of determining efficient routing of a mail piece in a delivery system for delivering mail pieces. The system determines whether or not the mail piece requires urgent delivery. The system determines a weight of the mail piece. Also, the system determines, based on the urgency determination and the weight determination, a most cost-effective place in which to introduce the mail piece into the delivery system.

Abstract: This relates to transferring funds from a payer to a payee in a electronic payment system. The electronic payment system includes a payment processor and an accounts database. The payment processor receives a payment request from the payer. The payment request includes information to identify the payee and a payment amount. An accounts database is accessed to determine if the accounts database includes an account associated with the payee. Based on a determination that the accounts database includes an account associated with the payee, an electronic message is sent from the payment processor to the payee, to notify the payee of the payment request. The accounts database is accessed to determine if the payee is identified as having a trusted relationship with the payer.

Associated with the upper part of the index sleeve is a valve seat assembly, positioned to abut the index sleeve and moveable therewith, said valve seat assembly being configured to receive a plug or ball, and in one unpressurised configuration, is located in a wider chamber that permits fluid flow around the assembly.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention detect and/or deter individuals who may be collecting or intending to collect unemployment insurance (UI) benefits and simultaneously receive pay from an employer. Embodiments identify, during either initial screening of a UI applicant or on an ongoing basis for current recipients, those individuals who would seek to defraud UI programs by receiving improper payments. Methods include locating account information in databases from one or more (preferably, a plurality) of financial service organizations pertaining to deposit (or other) accounts for an individual applying for benefits, analyzing deposit transactions into those accounts, determining whether the individual is likely to be receiving deposits from employment or wages, and providing information to an entity such as a government agency regarding likely employment deposits for the individual.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for providing one or more sentiment classifiers from training data using supervised classification techniques based on features extracted from the training data. Training data includes a plurality of units such as, but not limited to, documents, paragraphs, sentences, and clauses. A feature extraction component extracts a plurality of features from the training data, and a feature value determination component determines a value for each extracted feature based on a frequency at which each feature occurs in the training data. On the other hand, a class labeling component labels each unit of the training data according to a plurality of sentiment classes to provide labeled training data. Thereafter, a sentiment classifier generation component provides a least one sentiment classifier based on the value of each extracted feature and the labeled training data using a supervised classification technique.

Abstract: Described herein are recombinant RVF viruses comprising deletions in one or more viral virulence genes, such as NSs and NSm. The recombinant RVF viruses, generated using a plasmid-based reverse genetics system, can be used as vaccines to prevent infection of RVF virus in livestock and humans. As described herein, the recombinant RVF viruses grow to high titers, provide protective immunity following a single injection and allow for the differentiation between vaccinated animals and animals infected with wild-type RVF virus.

Abstract: Functionalized chondroitin sulfate, cross-linked polymer matrices comprising functionalized chondroitin sulfate, and methods of making and using the same are provided.
