Abstract: Systems and methods are described for redeeming rewards at a merchant's point-of-sale. The reward redemption takes place in real time and can be accomplished without the active participation of the merchant. A single credit card with no additional information may be used with a single swipe from the consumer to access both credit and rewards accounts, such that a single authorization request is made to encompass both rewards and credit. Merchants can be fully compensated for transactions by the issuer despite the customer's choice to redeem rewards.

Abstract: An automated banking machine system operates to cause financial transfers responsive to data read from data bearing records. The system is operative to read a financial card bearing account indicia with a card reader. A user is able to perform at least one banking operation responsive to account indicia read by the card reader from the card. The banking operations include dispensing cash and accessing financial accounts. The machine is operative to produce an audio output including verbal information through a headphone port to a headphone.

Abstract: At least one quasi-identifier attribute of a plurality of ranked attributes is selected for use in anonymizing a database. Each of the ranked attributes is ranked according to that attribute's effect on a database-centric application (DCA) being tested. In an embodiment, the selected quasi-identifier attribute(s) has the least effect on the DCA. The database is anonymized based on the selected quasi-identifier attribute(s) to provide a partially-anonymized database, which may then be provided to a testing entity for use in testing the DCA. In an embodiment, during execution of the DCA, instances of database queries are captured and analyzed to identify a plurality of attributes from the database and, for each such attribute identified, the effect of the attribute on the DCA is quantified. In this manner, databases can be selectively anonymized in order to balance the requirements of data privacy against the utility of the data for testing purposes.

Abstract: A method and system for providing geographic location notifications of payment transactions is disclosed. One embodiment of the invention is directed to a method including receiving an authorization request message associated with a transaction, the transaction associated with a portable consumer device and an access device at a merchant. A geographic location of the transaction is determined. It is determined whether a notification message indicating that the transaction is occurring is required. Upon determining that the notification message is required, the notification message is sent to a notification device operated by a consumer and the notification device receives the notification message substantially simultaneously with the merchant's receipt of an authorization response message. A graphical depiction of the notification message is displayed on a map on the notification device.

Abstract: An antenna device, such as composite right and left handed (CRLH) antenna device, is formed on the substrate, including a ground electrode formed on the substrate. In an example, the antenna device includes a cell patch comprising an enclosed conductive portion formed along an exterior edge of the cell patch, leaving an interior portion of the cell patch to partially expose the substrate. A feed structure is electromagnetically coupled to the cell patch, a via line is coupled to the ground electrode, and a via couples the via line to the cell patch.

Abstract: A planar band saw blade having an outer cutting edge with a plurality of saw teeth also includes sets of secondary teeth placed in cutout portions along a centerline of the band saw blade. The secondary tooth sets provide portions within the body of the saw blade that provide additional cutting action that reinforces the primary outer cutting edge of the blade. The band saw blade may include teeth on each parallel edge and the interior tooth sets in each cutout portion alternatively point toward opposite edges.

Abstract: A variable flow resistance system for use with a subterranean well can include a flow chamber through which a fluid composition flows, the chamber having at least two inlets, and a flow resistance which varies depending on proportions of the fluid composition which flow into the chamber via the respective inlet flow paths, and an actuator which varies the proportions. The actuator may deflect the fluid composition toward one of the inlet flow paths. A method of variably controlling flow resistance in a well can include changing an orientation of a deflector relative to a passage through which a fluid composition flows, thereby influencing the fluid composition to flow toward one of multiple inlet flow paths of a flow chamber, the chamber having a flow resistance which varies depending on proportions of the fluid composition which flow into the chamber via the respective inlet flow paths.

Abstract: Anhydrous borate compounds can be used in a variety of subterranean treatment operations, where particulates of the anhydrous borate compounds slowly become soluble in an aqueous fluid after facilitating the treatment operation. Cleanup fluids can be used for affecting a more rapid removal of the anhydrous borate compounds from a subterranean formation. Methods for performing a cleanup of anhydrous borate compounds within a subterranean formation can comprise providing a cleanup fluid comprising a polyhydroxylated compound, introducing the cleanup fluid into a subterranean formation having a plurality of anhydrous borate particulates therein, and interacting the polyhydroxylated compound with the anhydrous borate particulates such that the anhydrous borate particulates become soluble in an aqueous fluid.

Abstract: A system and method for managing media advertising enterprise data including a process for learning enterprise data matching. An EDM (Enterprise Data Management) application module can be configured to include a set of rules at an enterprise level to manage disparate and disconnected records associated with an entity. A number of unmatched and enterprise entities that matches with respect to an active entity can be returned based on a fuzzy logic associated with various matching options stored in an EDM database. A matching process can then be performed to accurately match similar records regardless of manual input, location, and format of the records in a distributed system. Each unmatched record can then be assigned with a parent enterprise entity. Such an optimization mechanism can interactively manage and report records at the enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating consistent management of a repeatable procurement process within an organization is disclosed. The system enables various members of the organization to follow a set of defined core processes to engage stakeholders by understanding the stakeholder's business and building a trusted advisor relationship. Further, the core processes define an analysis stage that includes an opportunity assessment, development of a strategic plan, development of a commodity profile, and finalizing a sourcing plan. Sourcing includes obtaining sponsorship, assembling a sourcing team, selecting suppliers for an RFP, and selecting a supplier based on a proposal. The core process for performing negotiations and contracting includes developing a negotiation strategy, performing the negotiation, selecting suppliers, and obtaining funding.

Abstract: Methods of consolidating proppant particulates in a subterranean formation comprising providing a proppant slurry comprising a carrier fluid, proppant particulates, and a curable resin composition. The curable resin composition comprises a solid curable resin particulate, a curing agent, and a silane coupling agent. The proppant slurry is introduced into a fracture within a subterranean formation and thereafter solid curable resin particulate softens so as to coat the proppant particulates and then is cured so as to consolidate the proppant particulates into a permeable proppant pack.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for inspecting and monitoring an inner surface of a pipeline. One system includes a pig arranged within the pipeline, one or more optical computing devices arranged on the pig adjacent the inner surface of the pipeline for monitoring at least one substance present on the inner surface. The optical computing devices include at least one integrated computational element configured to optically interact with the at least one substance and thereby generate optically interacted light, and at least one detector arranged to receive the optically interacted light and generate an output signal corresponding to a characteristic of the at least one substance. A signal processor is communicably coupled to the at least one detector of each optical computing device for receiving the output signal of each optical computing device and determining the characteristic of the at least one substance.

Abstract: Exposed pipe joints formed of adjacent lengths of corrosion protective coated pipe sections have a protective sheet of synthetic resin material wound about the joint between the adjacent segments of coated pipe. The synthetic resin sheet is deployed from a reel on a coating applicator machine. The pipe joint and adjacent coated pipe sections are initially heated. The sheet of synthetic resin is then wrapped in successive layers over the joint. Pressure is also applied to the sheet material as it is being wrapped. The sheet layers are heated after being applied onto the joint. Wrapping and heating continues during deployment of the sheet material from the reel, and the resin sheet is cylindrically wound over the joint in successive layers until the desired coating thickness is obtained. The successive layers of wrapped sheet material fuse to form an integral protective coating over the pipe joint and the adjacent coated pipe sections.

For example, method may involve containing a cement slurry within a flow path, the cement slurry having a chemical reaction occurring therein; and optically interacting the cement slurry with an integrated computational element, thereby generating an output signal corresponding to a characteristic of the chemical reaction.

Abstract: Methods of treating a subterranean formation including introducing a fracturing fluid into the subterranean formation at a pressure sufficient to create or enhance at least one fracture therein; providing a treatment fluid comprising a base fluid, proppant particulates, a crosslinking agent, and a stress-activated resin comprising a stress-activated moiety, wherein the stress-activated resin does not substantially react with the crosslinking agent until placed under stress; introducing the treatment fluid into the at least one fracture of the subterranean formation; removing the pressure in the subterranean formation such that the fracture closes on the treatment fluid and applies a stress to the stress-activated resin; and crosslinking the resin with the crosslinking agent, thereby forming a resinous proppant pack therein.
