The metal sheet is formed in such a manner that it has a first and second recess (11, 20) on the friction lining side, wherein the metal sheet has at least a second recess (20) on the friction lining side, wherein the first and second recesses (11, 20) have a differing depth. The first and second recesses on the friction lining side are each formed as an elevation on the side of the actuation means.

Abstract: A system for conducting commercial transactions between buyers and sellers is disclosed. The system includes a transaction processing system for facilitating payment for transactions between buyers and the sellers. In addition to the buyer and the seller, the transaction processing system also interacts with issuers and acquirers. The transaction processing system monitors and manages payment information relating to transactions conducted between buyers and sellers. Using such information, the transaction processing system further offers a number of additional financing services including, for example, buyer payment assurance, buyer bank payment assurance, buyer bank payable discounting, buyer bank payable discount aggregation, seller/receivable financing and seller bank receivable discount aggregation.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a method of cementing in a subterranean formation comprises: introducing a cement composition into the subterranean formation, wherein the cement composition comprises: cement; water; and calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) seeds, wherein a test cement composition consisting essentially of: the cement; the water; and the C-S-H seeds, and in the same proportions as in the cement composition, develops a compressive strength of at least 1,200 psi (8.3 MPa) when tested at 24 hours, a temperature of 60° F. (15.6° C.), and a pressure of 3,000 psi (20.7 MPa); and allowing the cement composition to set. According to another embodiment, the C-S-H seeds are mesoscopic particles, nanoparticles, or combinations thereof, and wherein the C-S-H seeds are in a concentration in the range of about 1% to about 5% by weight of the cement.

Abstract: This invention relates to a jar used to dislodge tools stuck in a well. The jar includes two housing portions movable with respect to each other. A release collet forms a portion of one of the housings. A release sleeve is carried by a mandrel and is located within the release collet. After a given amount of movement of the housing with respect to the mandrel, the release mechanism is activated and the two housing sections rapidly move with respect to each other. A hammer portion of the mandrel then strikes an anvil in the anvil housing, thus applying an upward force to the tool lodged in the well.

Abstract: Method and system are disclosed for providing multiple installations of a software application. The method/system creates an installation template from a single correct or “golden” installation of the software application and uses the installation template to produce additional installations of the software application. In one embodiment, any references to a specific host or computing system in the files or directories of the installed software application are replaced with a temporary variable in the installation template. The installation template may then be stored on a designated server and uploaded to any computing system needing a new installation of the software application. Once uploaded, the variable is replaced with system-specific references to complete the new installations. Since the installations are produced from the installation template and not from floppy disks or CD-ROMs, the process takes significantly less time.

Abstract: A portable terminal operates to cause financial transfers responsive to data read from data bearing records in the form of user cards. The user cards include credit and/or debit cards. Data corresponding to the card data is stored in at least one memory of the terminal. The terminal includes a wireless communication device. The terminal operates to wirelessly communicate data corresponding to card data to one or more remote computers to cause financial transfers to or from selected accounts. The terminal also operates to provide outputs corresponding to account balances and to receive data corresponding to receipts.

Another method of treating a well can include contacting multiple reactive components of a well treatment stimulant with each other in the well, thereby dispersing a well treatment substance about a well screen assembly.

Abstract: A method for operating a fluid dispensation system is provided. The method includes receiving a first control signal indicating that a fluid dispensation device within the fluid dispensation system is active, and determining a fluid additive quantity based upon the identity of the fluid dispensation device. The method also includes activating a fluid additive injection system, where the fluid additive injection system injects the fluid additive into the fluid dispensation system in response to the activation. The method further includes receiving a second control signal from the fluid additive injection system when the fluid additive quantity for the zone has been injected into the fluid dispensation system, and deactivating the fluid additive dispensation system in response to the second control signal.

The interactive visual environment may manipulate requirement statements based on textual input, as well as through text generation.

Abstract: An automated banking machine operates responsive to data bearing records. The automated banking machine includes a card reader that reads card data from a user card. The read card data corresponds to a financial account and is used to authorize the machine user to carry out a transaction on the financial account. The automated banking machine includes a display and a printer to produce records of a financial transaction carried out with the card reader. The automated banking machine also includes a validator arrangement including a currency note validator which reads data from a currency note in determining validity of the note. The note validator, while remaining supported by the machine, is slidable to extend outside of the machine where it can be pivoted to an orientation at which it can be serviced.

Abstract: Methods and systems are for evaluating an imager that produces bi-chrome images from a scanner or a digital imaging device. A method includes generating an image with a hand-held imaging device. The image from the hand-held imaging device has pixels of a first color and a second color. The image is analyzed to determine information about particles of the first and second color contained in the image, each particle comprising contiguous pixels of the same color. The particle information includes information on first and second color particle size and count. The image is determined to be acceptable or unacceptable based on predetermined objective criteria and the particle information.

Abstract: A system and method of generating a contact list based on a geographic definition and, in certain embodiments, other screening criteria. In an embodiment, a geographic definition, specifying a geographic area, is received. The geographic definition is translated into at least one linkage key. A contact list, comprising a plurality of records associated with the geographic area, is then generated from one or more databases using the at least one linkage key as an index into the one or more databases.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to process vehicle or driver behavior data are described herein. In some examples, the behavior data is used by a premium calculating engine to derive a premium for a vehicle insurance policy using the data. The behavior data may be associated with a single driver, or may be associated with all drivers of a vehicle without regard to the actual drivers, in some examples. Data received from the vehicle may also include vehicle performance data, in further examples. Additionally, a method of underwriting a dynamic vehicle insurance policy is described, in one example.
