Abstract: A well system can include a flow control device which regulates flow of a fluid from an interior of the device outwardly through an exit port, and a deflector which outwardly overlies the exit port and provides fluid communication between the exit port and an annulus formed radially between the deflector and a wellbore lining. The deflector can diffuse the flow of the fluid prior to impingement on the wellbore lining. A flow control assembly can include a flow control device which regulates flow of a fluid from an interior of the device outwardly through an exit port, and a deflector which outwardly overlies the exit port, the deflector including at least one opening, and the opening being circumferentially offset relative to the exit port. A form of an interior surface of the deflector and/or an exterior surface of the flow control device can diffuse the flow of the fluid.

Abstract: A method of characterizing and counting violations of a threshold by an operating parameter of an aircraft engine of an aircraft includes detecting, by the aircraft, a violation of the threshold by the operating parameter while the aircraft engine is in operation. The method also includes, on detecting the violation, automatically transmitting from the aircraft to a ground system a warning message about the violation. Further, the method includes, on the basis of the warning message, automatically determining a severity level for the violation. In addition, the method includes incrementing a counter representing a number of occasions the operating parameter of the aircraft engine has presented a violation corresponding to the severity level.
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating payment for online purchases is disclosed. The system allows consumers/customers who shop online to select, at the time of checkout, direct payment from an account as the payment option. An electronic bill (ebill), independent of any confidential financial information pertaining to the consumer, is automatically displayed and emailed to the consumer. The consumer pays the ebill at their bank the same way they pay their utility bill, which then results in a payment confirmation sent from the bank to the payee. Payment information from the bank is sent to the system to update the purchase transactions. Once the payment information is processed, the consumer and merchant accounts are balanced and both receive automatic notification of the payment.
Abstract: An electrical discharge assembly for processing a workpiece having a cooling passage with first and second portions includes a first electrode having a first shape for machining the first portion of the cooling passage and a second electrode having a second shape for machining the second portion of the cooling passage. In a method for repairing cooling passages in a workpiece, a first electrode having a first shape is positioned in a cooling passage. The first electrode is electrically powered to machine a first portion of the cooling passage. A second electrode having a second shape is positioned in the cooling passage. The second electrode is electrically powered to machine a second portion of the cooling passage.

Abstract: An expansion cone assembly (200) for setting a liner hanger. The expansion cone assembly (200) includes a cone mandrel (202) having an outer frustoconical surface (220), a lead cone (206) slidably disposed around the cone mandrel (200) having a frustoconical surface (228) with a maximum outer diameter (230) and a collapsible cone (204) slidably disposed at least partially around the outer frustoconical surface (220) of the cone mandrel (202). In an expansion configuration, the outer frustoconical surface (220) radially props the collapsible cone (204) such that it has a first maximum outer diameter (232) that is greater than the maximum outer diameter (230) of the lead cone (206). In a retrieval configuration, the collapsible cone (204) axially shifts relative to the outer frustoconical surface (220) such that it has a second maximum outer diameter (234) that is no more than the maximum outer diameter (230) of the lead cone (206).
Abstract: A lift system for mounting on a vehicle comprising a platform, the platform comprising a main platform and a platform extension slidable relative to the main platform. A handrail is pivotably mounted on the platform and movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The lift system also comprises handrail deployment means arranged to be actuated by movement of the platform extension to raise the handrail from the stowed position to the deployed position.
Abstract: Control mechanisms, computer software and methods for driving vibrational source arrays underwater. An incoherent acquisition scheme drives individual source elements simultaneously and incoherently while a coherent acquisition scheme drives high-frequency individual source elements simultaneously and incoherently and low-frequency individual source elements simultaneously and coherently. Thus, denser coverage and an increased energy input is achieved for the source arrays.
Abstract: A system for unstrapping and unsleeving a tray is provided. The system comprises a tray-transport configured to transport a tray in the system, a strap cutter configured to cut a strap on the tray, a strap-removal portion configured to remove the strap cut by the strap cutter, and an unsleeving station configured to remove a sleeve from the tray. The unsleeving station is configured to remove the sleeve from the tray after the strap-removal portion removes the cut strap.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to updating routing patterns in an enterprise network. In some implementations, a method for routing sessions includes identifying information associated with call sessions in an enterprise network. The information includes costs to an enterprise for using carrier services during the call sessions. Routing patterns for call sessions are dynamically updated through at least a portion of the enterprise network based, at least in part, on the costs associated with the call sessions.
Abstract: Alkali metal ions may lead to the production of insoluble materials during the course of stimulating a subterranean formation, particularly when acidizing a siliceous formation or a formation containing a siliceous material. Alkali metal ions may be sequestered using an alkali metal complexing agent in order to reduce their propensity toward forming insoluble materials in a subterranean formation. Methods for stimulating a subterranean formation can comprise: providing a treatment fluid that comprises an alkali metal complexing agent comprising a cyclic polyether having between 3 and 6 ether oxygen atoms present therein, and hydrofluoric acid, a hydrofluoric acid-generating compound, or any combination thereof; and introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation.

Abstract: A system and a method for identification of alphanumeric characters present in a series in an image are disclosed. The system and method captures the image and further processes it for binarization by computing a pattern of the image. The generated binarized images are then filtered for removing unwanted components. Candidate images are identified out of the filtered binarized images. All the obtained candidate images are combined to generate a final candidate image which is further segmented in order to recognize a valid alphanumeric character present in the series.
