Abstract: Described herein are systems and techniques for improving operation of a gas chromatograph or a computer that identifies compounds that correspond to peaks in a graph of gas chromatograph data (chromatogram). Each of the peaks included in the chromatogram may be associated with retention times that are measured amounts of time that correspond to how long it took for respective compounds included in a sample to move through the gas chromatograph. Measured retention times may be compared to standard retention times to identify retention time shifts. These retention times shifts may correspond to a function that may be used to predict retention times of other compounds that could be included in the sample. When a measured retention time that is associated with an unclassified peak in the chromatogram matches a predicted retention time of a specific compound to a threshold level, the unclassified peak may be identified the specific compound.

Abstract: A system for contactless operation of an aircraft lavatory door comprises a controller operatively connected to control an actuator for opening and closing a lavatory door. A gesture sensing system is operatively connected to the controller for sending gesture data to the controller indicative of a user gesturing for the actuator to actuate. A mmWave radar sensing system is operatively connected to the controller to indicate user presence. The controller includes machine readable instructions configured to verify gesture input from the gesture sensing system using input from the mmWave radar sensing system before controlling the actuator to open or close the lavatory door.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for remote monitoring of wind turbines for extraction and transformation of wind turbine data into a uniform consolidated datamart, irrespective of make and model of wind turbines. The system connects a cluster of wind turbines or individual turbines to a cloud network and transmits a plurality of operating parameter data to on-premise or a remote cloud-based processing and database unit for further processing and analysis. The system operates on data acquisition from wind turbines and controls the operations of wind turbines using SCADA applications and GSM modem to provide faster data acquisition and data aggregation to give real time insights into wind turbine or wind farm performance and operational levels.

Abstract: The challenge in managing power grid networks lies not only in dealing with the uncertainty of power demand and generation, or the uncertain events, but also with the huge action space even in a moderately-sized grid. In most such scenarios, the grid operator relies on his/her own experience or at best, some of the potential heuristics whose scope is limited to mitigating only a certain type of uncertainties. The present disclosure provides a heuristic-guided RL framework, for robust control of power networks subjected to production and demand uncertainty, as well as adversarial attacks. Using a careful action selection process, in combination with line reconnection and recovery heuristics, equips the present disclosure to outperform conventional approaches on several challenge datasets even with reduced action space. The present disclosure not only diversifies its actions across substations, but also learns to identify important action sequences to protect the network against targeted adversarial attacks.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a payment card comprising two discrete or more payment accounts associated with primary account numbers (PANs). Each PAN comprises a magnetic strip, EMV chip, CCV, and contactless payment circuit. The contactless payment circuits wirelessly transmit PAN information to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal enabling an end-user engage in a payment transaction with a merchant. The payment card further comprises two switches, a first switch on a first side of the payment card associated with a first contactless payment circuit and a second switch on a second side of the payment card associated with a second contactless payment circuit. The first switch and second switch are configured to detect a user input by an end-user and dynamically activate the first contactless payment circuit associated with the first PAN or the second contactless payment circuit associated with the second PAN.

An aerosol-generating device may include a device body with a lid configured to open to permit an insertion of the capsule and configured to close to engage the capsule within the device body.

Abstract: Techniques to transmit encoded data along a transmission medium and decode the transmitted data along the transmission medium are provided. Some techniques include logic to encode data transmitted along a transmission medium, such as a fiberoptic line or cable, where the encoding is pursuant to a conversion between a first and second colorspace. The logic may further be configured to decode the data once it is received at a node along the fiberoptic line, where the colorspace conversion provides the basis, key, or cipher for preforming the decoding operation. The logic may be further configured to alter the encryption and decryption basis, key, or cypher by altering the colorspace scheme defining the encoding (and by extension the decoding) during transmission, including a transmission that takes place after a previous transmission governed by the previously defined (and subsequently altered) colorspace conversion scheme. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to method and system to calculate net carbon sequestration for agriculture using remote sensing data. Climate change is one of the factor in sustainable development on the earth and has sparked numerous initiatives to reduce earth's carbon footprint. The disclosed method processes remote sensing data comprising one or more input images indicating one or more characteristics of at least one agriculture crop of a geographical region. The method calculates a carbon footprint value of at least one agriculture crop by obtaining a plurality of carbon values associated with the geographical region. A net carbon flux of least one agriculture crop is calculated based on the carbon footprint value, a data maturity index, and a difficulty level. The method enables growers and carbon credit purchasers to correctly determine the carbon footprint of a geographical region to accurately predict the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions reducing environmental degradation.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to method and system of electric vehicle route planning for multi-service delivery and on-route energy replenishment. Last mile delivery is a critical component of supply chains that impacts both customer experience and delivery cost. The method disclosed processes a received user request comprising a current location of the user, one or more required services, and a time window rendered between each of the required services and for the user request a graph is generated. Further, the trained learning agent generates a route map indicating a plurality of waypoint locations for the electric vehicle to visit each node in accordance with minimized trip cost of fleet and time duration where each node has a state action pair for the electric vehicle. The learning agent learns continuously during the interaction with the delivery environment and obtains feedback for every associated action.

Abstract: A method includes a system for improving machine-learning-based resource allocation by calibrating resource-related sentiments used to configure a dialogue generation model and updating a prior sentiment based on a response to a generated dialogue item, including a set of processors. Embodiments may also include a non-transitory, machine-readable media storing program instructions that, when executed by the set of processors, performs operations including retrieving a historical record associated with a user and a first natural language input provided by the user for a resource. Embodiments may also include determining, with a first machine learning model, an intermediate sentiment score based on the first natural language input. Embodiments may also include modifying, with the first machine learning model, the intermediate sentiment score based on the historical record to produce a new sentiment score.

Also provided are methods and compositions for producing modified tobacco plants and tobacco products therefrom comprising reduced TSNAs.

Abstract: A system includes a vehicle system including one or more sensors that to monitor one or more properties related to an operation of a vehicle. The system also includes a processor that receives expected vehicle usage information from an applicant, a database, publicly available sources, or the like and receive a set of data including the one or more properties from the vehicle system. The set of data is associated with the expected vehicle usage information. The processor may then determine a premium base rate based at least in part on the set of data and a risk associated with the applicant and determine a vehicle rate based at least in part on the set of data and a risk associated with the vehicle. The processor may then display a visualization including the premium base rate and the vehicle rate on a display.
