Abstract: A gas fire-extinguishing apparatus according to an embodiment of the invention is configured such that a silencer is disposed on an ejection head which ejects fire-extinguishing gas supplied from a fire-extinguishing gas supply source via a conduit pipe, a diverging pipe and a branch pipe. The configuration suppresses ejection sound caused by an ejection flow of the fire-extinguishing gas.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a fracturing tool anchor adapted for use with a work string in a wellbore. In one embodiment, the anchor has a housing with a central passage and an uphole and downhole end. The housing has a plurality of ports positioned circumferentially around the housing and along the length of the housing. The ports each contain an engagement member, such as a piston, and a return spring. The engagement member is adapted to extend radially outward when the anchor is pressure activated, to engage the wall of the casing or wellbore. The present application is also directed to a fracturing tool anchor that does not need to be pressure activated and utilizes slips as the engagement members.

Abstract: An interrogating and processing system and method is described. A wireless communication device interrogates an information source, having a barcode or tag, and wirelessly transmits data indicative of the information source. The interrogator can be built into or adjunct to the wireless communication device. An automated processing subsystem receives the transmitted data and identifies an item corresponding to the data. A fulfillment subsystem effects delivery of the item to a destination. There can be a coupon code scanning and processing system and method. A wireless computing device having an interrogator reads a coupon code. An automated processing subsystem receives the corresponding data and provides a benefit associated with the coupon. The benefit can be a discount on a product or service. Alternatively, at least a portion of the coupon including a code is displayed on a screen of the computing device for processing at a point of sale terminal.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclosed herein include systems and methods for sending merchant alert messages. The merchant can specify criteria indicating the types of customers for which he desires to receive alerts. Merchant alert messages can be sent based on characteristics of a customer, including the customer's proximity to the merchant. The merchant can use the alert message to provide better service to the customer or prevent the customer from engaging in transactions, depending on the contents of the merchant alert message.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for assigning a difficulty score to a speech sample. Speech recognition is performed on a digitized version of the speech sample using an acoustic model to generate word hypotheses for the speech sample. Time alignment is performed between the speech sample and the word hypotheses to associate the word hypotheses with corresponding sounds of the speech sample. A first difficulty measure is determined based on the word hypotheses, and a second difficulty measure is determined based on acoustic features of the speech sample. A difficulty score for the speech sample is generated based on the first difficulty measure and the second difficulty measure.

Abstract: Compliance with retail display regulations that retailers are subject to within a plurality of jurisdictions is managed. Retail display regulations may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. To facilitate compliance, retail display regulations for a plurality of jurisdictions are centrally maintained. The regulations may then be used to dynamically generate retail display materials for locations across a plurality of jurisdictions with different regulatory schemes. The central storage and/or maintenance of the retail display regulations may facilitate compliance with disparate regulatory schemes that retailers are subject to based in part of retail location. Central storage of the retail display regulations may facilitate certification of compliance by regulating entities associated with the jurisdictions.

Abstract: A treatment to temporarily block highly permeable areas in a wellbore having a temperature of less than 160° F. A diverting agent, a catalyzer, and a viscosifier are mixed together and pumped in the wellbore where the treatment flows in the most highly permeable areas. The diverting agent then begins to block those areas as the well is treated finally causing the fluid to divert to other now more highly permeable areas of the wellbore. After less than 48 the diverting agent degrades sufficiently to restore the permeablility of the wellbore.
