Abstract: Methods, data structures, and systems for tracking network events that occur across multiple platforms are disclosed. Entities may enter into business agreements for products and services to be conducted across different platforms and register the terms of those agreements with a tracking computer. The tracking computer can monitor network events and determine settlement amounts to be distributed between the entities involved in a given network event based on the terms of one or more agreements that may be stored in a database.

Abstract: An apparatus, computer-implemented method and program product to arrange and fund a funeral or other memorial service. A program receives user input requesting information associated with funeral products, services and homes. The program associates the user input with a budgetary, profile, home locator, or step-based parameter. Each parameter logically links to an information field stored within the database. A central web server retrieves information associated with the parameter for inclusion within a funeral plan.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for producing guar gum, the method comprising the steps of: (a) sizing husk from guar seed into larger pieces and smaller pieces, (b) washing the larger pieces, (c) soaking the larger pieces, and (d) flaking the larger pieces to obtain guar gum. The invention also provides a method for processing undehusked guar splits, the method comprising the steps of: (a) dehusking undehusked guar splits to obtain dehusked guar splits and husk, and (b) sizing the husk into larger pieces and smaller pieces.

Abstract: A cement sample testing apparatus including a first pressure zone; a second pressure zone; and a pressure control system. The pressure control system can be in fluid communication with the first pressure zone and the second pressure zone, operable to raise the first pressure zone to a first pressure above ambient pressure, and operable to raise the second pressure zone to a second pressure above ambient pressure. A method for determining mechanical properties for a sample cement composition can include applying a first pressure condition to a first portion of the sample cement composition; applying a second pressure condition raised to a second portion of the sample cement composition; and determining one or more mechanical properties of the sample cement composition based at least in part on the pressure conditions present at the failure of the sample cement composition.

Abstract: A method and system for tracking goods, etc., food products, which involves identifying the received goods at a specified location and thereafter assigning an encoded readable code to each of the goods which can be only accessed by authorized personnel responsible for handling the goods on through to and including shipment, e.g., to customers. A host computer includes a database for encoding received identification data and thereafter encoding same to provide the readable codes. The method and system also allows the customer/recipient to access the codes to discern whether he/she has received the correct goods he purchased.

Abstract: An endless treadmill belt includes a bottom-ply fabric that at least partially forms a bottom surface of the belt, and the bottom surface of the belt is for sliding across a treadmill deck. The bottom-ply fabric includes textured synthetic yarns that at least partially form the bottom surface of the belt. A solid lubricant composition is impregnated in the bottom-ply fabric. The solid lubricant composition is a mixture that includes higher and lower viscosity lubricants and a binder.

Abstract: A system for actuating a downhole tool disposed within a work string comprising a support suspending the work string into a well bore, a launching apparatus positioned at a location remote from the work string, a tortuous path connected between the launching apparatus and the work string, and a mechanical plug that launches from the launching apparatus, traverses the tortuous path, enters the work string, and actuates the downhole tool.

Abstract: A modular in-wall medical services outlet system comprising separate standardized vertical units that can be shipped separately and assembled on site to form a consolidated horizontal system. The system includes a self-aligning feature that allows the units to be leveled as a single whole and eliminates the need to level each unit separately. The alignment system may be combined with connectors which secure the units to each other. Racks of medical service outlets are included. The racks may be horizontally aligned, vertically aligned, or both. Substantially continuous trim and cover plate assemblies extend entirely across the face of the system around the outlets giving the system the appearance of an in-wall horizontal unit. The trim is attachable to the wall structure, receives the wall board, supports the service outlets, and provides horizontal equipment tracks. The frame provides the system with load bearing capacity to support equipment in the horizontal tracks.

Abstract: Various method embodiments comprise testing a plurality of RFID tags forming at least a portion of a first web to identify defective RFID tags and verified RFID tags, cutting the first web between a rotary die and an anvil to remove at least the verified RFID tags from the first web, rotating the anvil to transfer the verified RFID tags cut from the first web away from the first web, placing the verified RFID tags from the anvil onto a second web to form a third web having a first major surface, preventing the defective RFID tags from being placed from the anvil on the second web, and re-testing the RFID tags forming at least a portion of the third web. Abstract: A hinge and support system for supporting cargo in a freight compartment is provided. The system includes a hinge member, associated with a deck panel, which has at least one flexible projection. The hinge member mates with a support member having a pocket for which the hinge member's flexible projections can be snapped into and retained within so as to allow pivotal movement of the hinge member with respect to the support member. The hinge member is also movably supported by the deck panel so that the hinge member can move relative to the deck panel when the deck panel is deployed. The support member includes one ledge which engages the deck panel when deployed and a second ledge which engages the panel when stowed upright so as to substantially isolate the hinge member from the weight of the deck panel and items placed on it. The hinge structure can be utilized in other contexts.

Abstract: A fiber optic connector may include a first cover with an integral restraining mechanism and a second cover with a reciprocal restraining mechanism. A fiber optic cable having a ferrule at a terminating end may be placed within the fiber optic connector. A dust cap may be placed on the terminating end of the fiber optic cable. The integral restraining mechanism and the reciprocal restraining mechanism may detachably mate and enclose the terminating end of the fiber optic cable within the fiber optic connector. The fiber optic connector may include one or more gaskets to assist in sealing the connector.

Abstract: A non-rectangular or asymmetrically shaped credit card or phone card with an associated case or holder. The card has a configuration that complements the configuration of the case so that the card is easily removed from the holder for access, yet is maintained inside the case in a covered position and is protected from abuse. The case is designed to be light-weight and easily carried and to serve as a device to carry the card in a safe and convenient manner outside of a wallet or purse. Alternatively, the card may be in an I-shape or square shape configuration.

Abstract: A subscriber profile access management system provides technical solutions to providing a single point of access to telecommunications subscriber profile information. As the products and services offered by the service provider grow, and given the many different access mechanisms through which a subscriber connects to services, the single point of access eliminates the inefficient proliferation of custom interfaces between the many support systems and applications which need access to subscriber profile information. The single point of access provides a universal and personalized access to telecommunications services. Access may be made to the subscriber profile regardless of the particular type of access mechanism (e.g., WiFi, or DSL access), while the personalized access allows services to be customized based upon static and dynamically maintained information in the subscriber profile.

A distribution device is configured to selectively receive a media signal from the content processing device, and to selectively provide one or more command signals to the content processing device. A computer is configured to selectively receive the media signal from the distribution device, and to selectively provide commands to the distribution device. The distribution device is further configured to provide the received one or more commands to the content processing device via the one or more command signals.

The data is aggregated to obtain an aggregate number of times that each of the one or more media programs has been accessed within the given time period. An indication of popularity for each of the one or more media programs may be determined from the data.

Abstract: An approach is provided for managing bandwidth utilization. A networking device (e.g., router) corresponding to a customer is audited to determine utilization of a communication link serving the customer. A determination is made whether bandwidth, allocated to the customer, of the communication link is under-utilized. A notification is generated to inform the customer of the under-utilization based on the determination. Further, a determination can be made whether the allocated bandwidth of the communication link is over-utilized, in which case, the notification includes an indication of one or more sources of traffic through the networking device.

Abstract: An online card-present transaction system facilitates card-present type transactions with a merchant over a public network. A host system is configured to accept authentication data from a user via an authentication device. The host system, after authenticating a user is configured to retrieve the user's account information from a user database system and translate a user account number into a temporary transaction number. The temporary transaction number is then transmitted directly from the host system to the merchant, thereby eliminating the need for the user to send to the merchant over the internet, the user's transaction account number.
