Abstract: An apparatus is provided for forwarding communications automatically. The apparatus includes a processing element that receives data from a local connection point or a network element regarding the presence of a device at or near the local connection point or other location. The device is associated with a first communications terminal and transmits a signal that can be detected by the local connection point or the network element. Upon receiving the data, including an indication of the presence of the device, the apparatus may automatically forward communications from one or more communications terminals to a particular communications terminal, as specified by forwarding instructions. The forwarding instructions may be provided by a user ahead of time or included in the data received by the apparatus, and the instructions may be stored in a storage element of the apparatus. Systems, methods, and computer program products for forwarding communications automatically are also provided.
Abstract: A method comprising receiving, from a first node, a first packet at a network application server via a first local area network (LAN); receiving, from a second node, a second packet at the network application server via a second LAN; associating the first packet with a first VPN based on receiving the first packet via the first LAN; and associating the second packet with a second VPN based on reception of the second packet via the second LAN, wherein the first VPN and the second VPN include overlapping network address spaces.
Abstract: A method may include receiving a call at a portable communication device, entering a first mode when the call is directed to a first device identifier associated with the portable communication device; and entering a second mode when the call is directed to a second device identifier associated with the portable communication device, wherein the first mode provides access to a first set of applications and a first set of user data and the second mode provides a second set of applications and a second set of user data.

Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and apparatuses for receiving recording recommendations through a data network are provided. The recommendations originate from sources selected by the user. Each source may send a recommendation from his or her set top box or other computing device connected to the data network. The user may establish and send recommendation instructions used to filter and prioritize the recommendations based on the source of the recommendation. The user may send the recommendation instructions from his or her set top box or another computing device connected to the data network. Based at least partially by the recommendation instructions, the set top box of the user may receive a recommendation from a source and record at least one media program subject to the recommendation.
Abstract: A system may install a trunk between a first switch and an end office, where the trunk is a trunk home for the end office. The system may further identify Numeric Numbering exchanges (NXXs) that home to the end office. Traffic for at least one of the identified NXXs is routed to the end office through a second switch that is different than the first switch. The system also causes traffic for the identified NXXs to be routed to the first switch.

Abstract: A system for managing orders for products, including goods and services, which dynamically creates processes for providing those products has been developed. This order management system creates the processes from pre-defined tasks when the order is received. By operating in this manner, the order management system dynamically creates processes, even for new or changed products and services, and provides a foundation for the process automation and the human workflow that may be required to provision an order. The order management system may include a database, which includes a data structure that enables the functionality of the order manager and stores information relating to products, building blocks, and tasks, including the relationships among the products, building blocks, and tasks. The data structure generally includes a task entity class, a building block entity class, and an order mapping entity class.
Abstract: A method and system for facilitating the purchase of goods and services anonymously from an e-commerce website is provided. The method includes providing a plurality of transaction account numbers, each of which is associated with a monetary load value. The transaction account numbers are stored in a database having a plurality of records. Each of the records corresponds to one of the transaction account numbers. None of the records are configured to store identifying information of a purchaser of one of the transaction numbers. A request for an authorization of a purchase transaction having a purchase value is received from a remote computer terminal. The request is associated with a transaction account number. If the purchase value does not exceed the monetary value associated with the transaction account number, an authorization message is sent to the remote computer terminal granting the request.

Abstract: A communications system employing discrete multi-tone (“DMT”) modulated signals on a communications channel formed by inductively-coupled pipe. In one embodiment, the communications system includes a string of wired pipe joints that couple a transmitter to a receiver. Each pipe joint in the string possesses threaded ends configured for mechanically connecting with other pipe joints, a electrical or inductive coupler at each threaded end, and an insulated conductor that electrically connects the couplers. The transmitter and receiver communicate via DMT modulated signals transported by the wired pipe string. The system may further include multiple repeaters in the string. Each repeater may be configured to receive a DMT-modulated signal, to recover information from the DMT-modulated signal, and to retransmit the information in the form of a DMT-modulated signal.
Abstract: A guide rail support assembly includes a brace and a guide rail positioned on the brace. A hook device having a base and two hooks extending from the base and around the brace and secures the guide rail to the brace. The brace has no apertures such that the hooks extend completely around the brace without penetrating any portion of the brace. Adjustment shims are positioned adjacent the brace and a spring clip is mounted adjacent the base and the adjustment shims for securing the hook device to the brace.

Abstract: A rotary vector gear for controlling longitudinal axis offset about a central longitudinal axis is disclosed. The device uses single rotary motion through a rotary vector gear to produce hypotrochoidic offset similar to a flower petal and is capable or ready return to zero offset. The device may be used in downhole rotary steerable oil and gas drilling tools and in computer controlled milling machines for providing controlled offset.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cartridge, system, and methods that can be used for automated handling of fluids, such as blood. The cartridge can be configured to obtain a fluid sample from a sealed container, e.g., a septum sealed container. The system can be configured to handle the cartridge for operations such as obtaining a sample and/or dispensing the sample from the cartridge into, for example, a microtiter plate. The method of the invention can employ the cartridge or system of the invention.
