Abstract: Sensors are regularly used to understand physical processing by computing systems and measuring physical quantities using principles of Physics which are then calibrated to yield the value and unit of interest. Some works have tried to generalize analytics across domains. However, they do not consider the problem of selecting sensors for a given application or having sensors as a service bouquet for application developer. Embodiments herein provide a method and system for recommending sensors for an application using elements of service-oriented-architecture and design (SOAD). Herein, the system contains a catalog of services which contain sensors and associated pipelines. These pipelines are used by the application developer along with calibration and fusion models through an Integrated Development and Prototyping Environment (IDPE).
Abstract: In some embodiments, transaction data associated with a user may be processed based on one or more criteria indicative of a trip to determine transactions related to the trip. Based on a comparison between geolocation data associated with stored images and location data associated with the transactions, a visual representation derived from the images may be generated, where the visual representation indicates correlations between the images and the transactions determined to be related to the trip. Display instructions for displaying the visual representation on a client device of the user may be provided to the client device.

Abstract: Research work in the literature on imputation of mobility data for missing records of a subject's location trajectory has been specifically revolved around usage of historical data. Thus, performances drop when missing records or imputation mobility data for unknown subject with very little or no historical data has to be predicted. A method and system for training an ensemble classifier for imputation of mobility data of unknown subject based on cohort of the unknown subject is disclosed. The method and system disclosed herein exploits the knowledge that semantic trajectories of different individuals has considerable similarity when individuals belong to the same cohort. This concept is used by the method to predict the behavior of all the individuals in a cohort using ensemble classifier, also referred to as imputation model, trained on the semantic location data of a fraction of total individuals in the cohort with a certain accuracy.
Abstract: In some aspects, a computing system may identify a feature that can be used to distinguish between data that is more likely to be representative of the target population. A computing system may identify a feature in a dataset where a first value of the feature is associated with a higher likelihood that a corresponding sample is not a member of the target population. Due to the differences between samples that have the first value and samples that have the second value, the computing system may determine that samples with the first value are less likely to be members of the target population or samples with the second value are more likely to be members of the target population. The computing system may determine that a training dataset should be generated using samples that have the second value.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for direct device-to-device asset transfer. A first user device (e.g., mobile device, smart device, etc.) may send a second user device (e.g., mobile device, smart device, etc.), via a first communication protocol, a portion of allocation information that allocates transaction item to a user of the second user device based on an indication that the second user device is in proximity to the first user device. The first user device may receive an asset from an account associated with the second user device via a second communication protocol based on an indication that the portion of the allocation information that allocates the item associated with the transaction to the user of the second user device is confirmed by the second user device. A value of the asset may correspond to a value indicated by the portion of the allocation information.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for performing a sealing operation. A sealing element is introduced into a wellbore having a temperature. The sealing element comprises a material having a positive coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and a material having a negative CTE. The sealing element is expanded to contact an adjacent surface. The material having a negative CTE expands when the wellbore temperature is decreasing and the expansion of the negative CTE material maintains contact of the sealing element with the adjacent surface while the wellbore temperature is decreasing.

Abstract: A method of controlling a hot wire anemometer (HWA) of a non-nicotine e-vaping device includes controlling, by a first PID controller, a level of power applied by the non-nicotine e-vaping device to the HWA based on a temperature of a heated element of the HWA and a temperature setpoint; generating a puff detection signal indicating whether or not a puff is currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device; and while the puff detection signal indicates that a puff is not currently occurring with respect to the non-nicotine e-vaping device, detecting, by a second PID controller, a change in an ambient temperature of the HWA, and controlling, by the second PID controller, the temperature setpoint such that the temperature setpoint changes in response to the detected change in the ambient temperature of the HWA.

Abstract: In some aspects, a computing system may authenticate a user before blockchain functions may be performed and provide obstacles to prevent brute force attacks in decentralized computing systems or other distributed computing system environments. The computing system may use a smart contract to assist with authenticating a user. As authentication attempts fail, the computing system may increase a network usage cost associated with authentication. By doing so, the security of a computing system may be improved by making it cost-prohibitive for malicious actors to perform brute force attacks. Further, a computing system may use a variety of biometric information that may provide additional verification and security when authentication is performed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a profile-based model selector are described. In some aspects, the system receives an input dataset and a corresponding input data profile and determines a similarity metric for the input data profile with respect to each of a plurality of data profiles. Based on the similarity metric for the input data profile being highest with respect to a first data profile, the system processes the input dataset using a first model associated with the first data profile. Based on determining that performance of the first model when applied to the input dataset is above a threshold, the system verifies a separating hyperplane is placed such that the first data profile and the input data profile are included in a first profile domain and a second data profile is included in a second profile domain.

Abstract: A sealing element for wellbore operations can include an energizing end with a sloped surface and a perpendicular surface, a stationary end with a sloped surface and a perpendicular surface, and an engagement surface located between the energizing end and the stationary end. An energizing sleeve can include a sloped surface that engages with and moves along the sloped surface of the energizing end to cause the engagement surface to engage with the inside of a tool housing, casing, or tubing string to create a seal. A stationary tool component can about the stationary end, so the sealing element is energized. The sealing element can be used in a packer assembly, as an anchoring device, in lieu of O-rings, to allow opening or closing of flow ports, or in other downhole tools.
