Further, the TEC can include a conductive bridging component positioned to pierce the encapsulation layer to contact the metal sheath and to facilitate an electrical coupling between the metal sheath and the production tubing string at a location along the length of the production tubing string.

    Abstract: This disclosure presents an apparatus to improve the position sensing of a moving mechanism, such as a fluid valve located within a borehole. The apparatus can utilize a light beam or an optical fiber to measure changes in the position sensor. The smaller and lighter apparatus can improve the accuracy of the sensing mechanism. In addition, three systems are presented. The first system utilizes a vibration sensor, such as a MEMS, and an accelerometer to calculate changes in the mechanism position of the moving mechanism. The second system utilizes a radiation source and detector combination, along with a moving radiation shield to provide more accurate position sensing than conventional techniques. In addition, a lens-based system is presented, that when combined with a radiation source, can calculate position information by detecting the diffusion or dispersal of the radiation against a radiation detector.

    Abstract: An apparatus is described for robotic control of an ultrasound imaging device. The apparatus comprises a fixed base and a movable platform with an end-effector. A plurality of passive soft links connects the platform to the base. A series of cables connect the platform to a set of motors adjacent the base. When the platform is at rest, the tension in the cables counter-balances the passive soft links pushing the platform away from the base plate. Control electronics move the motors so as to control the location and the orientation of the platform. By increasing or decreasing tension in the cables, the motors smoothly control the location and the orientation of the platform and thus the end effector. Such a robotic apparatus can be used to provide expert handling of an ultrasound imaging device remotely.

In one embodiment, bond terms, yield curve and interest rate volatility data are received for a set of bonds. Theoretical tax-neutral values of the bonds are calculated using a buy-and-hold methodology, wherein the tax-neutral value comprises the price of the at least one municipal debt offering such that its discounted after-tax value equals the price. A theoretical maximum after-tax values of the bonds are also calculated using a recursive valuation path-dependent methodology. Optimal bond management is determined using the calculated theoretical tax-neutral values and maximum after-tax values of the bonds.

In some implementations, an encryption and decryption system can protect private information of a user in documents with an artificial reality device. The encryption and decryption system can determine the portion of a document containing private information and encrypt that portion of the document. In some implementations, the encryption and decryption system can receive a document and identify the protected (e.g., encrypted) portion of the document. In some cases, the protected portion of the document can contain a security token that the encryption and decryption system can extract. The system can compare the security token to an authentication token associated with the user and determine whether the security and authentication token match. If the tokens match, the system can decrypt the protected portion of the document and display the decrypted data as a virtual object.
