Abstract: An automated banking machine (10) is provided. The automated banking machine may include a fascia (50) in operative connection with a frame (110). The machine may include a plurality of hardware devices which are accessible through the fascia. The hardware devices may include a cash dispenser (24), receipt printer (20), and a card reader (22). The fascia may include replaceable bezels (550,552) with apertures therein for providing access to hardware devices. The bezels may be operative to float with respect to the fascia and hardware devices to automatically align hardware devices with the bezels. In addition the hardware devices may include movable portions which are operative to automatically align with the bezels. The bezels may include ramps, ribs, or other angled surfaces which guide the hardware devices into alignment with the openings in the bezels.

Abstract: A mail collection point-of-use for and method of preventing detected hazardous materials within a mail collection point-of-use from contaminating components of subsequent mail delivery system processes. The mail collection point-of-use comprises a mail drop unit having an opening for receiving customer-deposited mail, a mail receptacle for accumulating received mail, an enclosure coupled to the mail drop unit and containing the mail receptacle and having a door that seals an opening large enough to permit removal of the mail receptacle, a detector inside the enclosure, which generates a detection signal upon detection of airborne hazardous material, and an indicator outside the enclosure for indicating the detection of hazardous material. By indicating the detection of hazardous materials within the mail collection point-of-use before removing the mail receptacle and its contaminated mail, the further spread of the hazardous materials in a mail delivery system may be prevented.

Abstract: Methods and systems for evaluating the fit of raw data to model data are disclosed. Relationships between an assessment item and a tested attribute, responses from examinees to an assessment item, mastery states for an examinee for a tested attribute, one or more parameters based on expected assessment item performance, estimates for non-tested attributes for each examinee, likelihoods that an examinee that has mastered attributes pertaining to an assessment item will answer the item correctly, likelihoods that an examinee that has not mastered an attribute for an assessment item will answer the item correctly, and/or other variables may be received. For each item and/or for each examinee, a determination of a class for the examinee and/or item may be determined. Statistics may also be generated for each examinee, each item, an examination and/or any other basis.

Abstract: An automated transaction machine including an extensions for financial services (XFS) layer is provided. An application interface portion of the XFS layer is operative to communicate with an application layer of the ATM which may include terminal applications. A hardware interface portion of the XFS layer is operative to communicate with a hardware layer of the ATM which may include hardware devices of the ATM and associated service providers. A diagnostic application is operative to determine whether problems exist in the application layer or the hardware layer of the ATM by causing a plurality of hardware devices to perform predefined operations using the XFS layer and by monitoring the operations. The diagnostic application is operative to output a determination as to whether a problem with the ATM is associated with the components of the application or hardware layers of the ATM responsive to the success or failure of the operations.

Abstract: An ATM is operative to automatically self test a display module thereof. The test determines whether the display module fails to produce an acceptable display output. A predetermined color sequence is sent to the display module for display thereof. A sensor device positioned adjacent the display module screen senses displayed colors. A machine computer determines whether the display module displayed the correct color sequence. A display module error signal is generated responsive to the display module failing to display the proper color sequence. Testing of the display module can continue repeatedly to continually update its operational status.

The performance/capability information is gathered using a querying program downloaded from the server and running on the client computer. Abstract: The invention includes a system for projecting a display onto an item or parcel using an acquisition device to capture indicia on each parcel, a tracking system, a controller or computer to select the display based on the indicia, and one or more display projectors. The system in one embodiment includes a laser projection system to paint the selected display directly onto a selected exterior surface of the corresponding parcel, for multiple parcels simultaneously.
