  • Patent number: 10325511
Abstract: This disclosure provides a method and system to convert a first digital representation of a document including a first format to a second digital representation of the document including a second format. According to an exemplary method, a preexisting printed assessment is scanned to produce an image file and an educational assessment analysis system captures an image area associated with a question, processes the captured image area to automatically assign metadata associated with an independent assessment creation process to the captured image area, which is subsequently processed to generate an assessment based on the assigned metadata which conforms with a format consistent with the independent assessment creation process.

  • Patent number: 10323176
Abstract: Methods including introducing a first particulate-free treatment fluid (first PFTF) into a subterranean formation above the fracture gradient. Alternatingly introducing a first particulate-laden treatment fluid (first PLTF) and a second particulate-laden treatment fluid (second PLTF) into the subterranean formation, wherein the first PLTF comprises nano-particles and degradable particles and the second PLTF comprises proppant particulates, and wherein the alternating introduction causes the proppant particulates in the second PLTF to agglomerate into proppant aggregates being surrounded by the first PLTF. Placing the proppant aggregates into at least one fracture, removing the hydraulic pressure to close the at least one fracture, and degrading the degradable particulates to form at least one channel between adjacent proppant aggregates.

  • Patent number: 10324217
Abstract: Method and system for improving the speed and accuracy of determining formation properties using multiple logging data are disclosed. Logging data relating to the formation of interest is obtained and used as an input. High frequency noise is then removed from the logging data and bed-boundary determination is performed using the logging data. An adaptive low pass filter is applied to the logging data and the logging data is inverted. The inverted logging data is then visually interpreted.

  • Patent number: 10325079
Abstract: A node, of a network of nodes with access to a distributed ledger, receives a request to verify the user has consented to a current version of terms (i.e., current terms) associated with a program. The node obtains, using the distributed ledger, historical consent data indicating a version of the terms to which the user has previously provided consent. The node performs a first verification procedure to determine the user has not consented to the current terms, provides an indication to a user device that the user has not consented to the current terms, and receives, from the user device, a message indicating an acceptance of the current terms. The node performs additional verification procedures to determine that the user is who consented to the current terms and updates the distributed ledger to include a record indicating that the user consented to the current terms.

  • Publication number: 20190174827
Abstract: An aerosol-generating system includes a main body, a cartridge, and a connecting component. The main body includes a main body housing enclosing a power supply. The cartridge includes a cartridge housing enclosing a reservoir of liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The cartridge is releasably connectable to the main body by the connecting component. The connecting component is fixed to the main body housing and is less stiff in at least one direction than the main body housing. The connecting component that is less stiff the main body housing and the cartridge housing can act as a shock absorber when the aerosol-generating system experiences a significant impact, such as when dropped on a surface. This reduces damage to other components of the system and, in particular, may prevent leaks of liquid resulting from damage to the liquid reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20190180313
Abstract: A rewards management system is configured to facilitate the redemption of loyalty benefits at a financial institution and apply credits, payments, debits, and/or the like associated with the loyalty benefit to transactions that are characterized by a set of predetermined rules (e.g. an item purchased during a particular transaction, the merchant from whom the transaction originated, the vendor who manufactured the item). The system provides real-time management of the loyalty account so that the loyalty benefit can be used to offset the liability associated with a particular eligible transaction. The system may also be configured to allow a user to satisfy various obligations to the financial institution (e.g. a minimum payment associated with a statement from a transactions account). As such, the system allows the loyalty account provider or the financial institution to provide a customizable rewards program that allows loyalty benefits to be used for any type of transaction.
