Abstract: A network includes an account status system for checking the status of checking accounts used to make payments, and a payment account monitoring system that includes linking files that store, for individual credit card accounts, the account numbers for checking accounts used to pay the credit card accounts. The monitoring system periodically retrieves checking account numbers from the linking files and checks the account numbers at the status system. If a negative status is indicated at the status system, an alert is provided to the credit card company.
Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for the autonomous wireless communication between a service provider device and a customer device. The customer device may notify the service provider device whether the customer has work to be performed by the service provider. The service provider device may provide information to the customer about work to be performed by the service provider. In one embodiment, a shipping service is notified autonomously about items that a customer has for pick up and shipment. The shipping service is also capable of wirelessly transferring information to a customer device about items to be delivered to that customer.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for monitoring one or more quality control activities to be performed during development of a software application. The system may receive information related to sub-applications. The sub-application may correspond to a module of the software application. The system may create groups of quality control activities. The quality control activities may need to be performed during different stages of development of the software application. The system may allow assigning quality control managers related to the quality control activities. The quality control manager may thus monitor the quality control activities to be performed for a successful integration of the software application.

Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamically determining the flow of screens to be presented in a user interface (UI) of an application executing on a computing device, based at least partly on a detected presence of a user device (e.g., a portable computing device) in a particular geographic area. Area designation data is transmitted to, and stored on, a user device. The area designation data can describe a geofenced area and/or beacon signals. In response to determining that the user device is in the geographic area indicated by the area designation data, the user device may transmit an alert signal that causes an interface flow to be dynamically determined and executed for an application executing on the computing device that is separate from the user device.

Abstract: An anchor comprises a substantially non-conducting housing including a series of collet apertures; flexible strands; collets; and a water bed engaging part. Each collet is adapted to engage one of the flexible strands and secure it in a respective one of the collet apertures of the housing. The anchor formed such that when it is in use the water bed engaging part can be located on the bed of a body of water with the strands extending upwards for use in securing an item at or near the surface of the water, the strands being able to expand and contract lengthwise to resist breaking due to pulling of the item.

Abstract: Embodiments of a reusable stackable shipping box are provided herein. The reusable stackable shipping box may be reused and cleaned without causing harm to the integrity of the box. In addition, the box is slightly tapered in shape such that the box may be stacked upon and within other boxes for ease in shipping and organization.
Abstract: A method for detecting computer issues includes identifying a target computer system. A first set of data for a first time period relating an operating metric from the target computer system are received. The operating metric is stored. A second set of data for a second time period relating to the operating metric is received. The first and second sets of data are compared. A difference between the two sets of data is identified. If the difference between the two sets of data is within a range a warning notification is displayed in a graphical user interface. An input is received in the graphical user interface in response to the warning notification being displayed.

Abstract: A method for designing an integrated computational element (ICE) includes generating an array of discrete data points and plotting the discrete data points across a predetermined wavelength region. A line shape is then generated that connects to and is constrained by the array of discrete data points, and thereby generates a first transmission function. The discrete data points are then iteratively modified based on one or more performance criteria to generate a second transmission function. A model transmission function corresponding to a model ICE design is then fitted to the second transmission function to identifying a predictive ICE design configured to detect a desired characteristic of interest.

Abstract: A method of borehole correction for water-based mud includes conveying an induction logging tool along a borehole through a formation, obtaining one or more formation measurements using the tool, obtaining a water-based mud conductivity, performing an oil-based mud inversion on the formation measurements to determine an inverted formation conductivity, calculating a corrected formation conductivity using the water-based mud conductivity and the inverted formation conductivity, and displaying a log based at least in part on the corrected formation conductivity.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and computer program products for determining fracture and stress characterization using layer thickness variation over an azimuthally anisotropic medium, which may include one or more of the following functions: acquiring seismic data by recording reflected seismic waves in at least two directions; sorting of the seismic data so that offset is zero at a center and increases radially from a single common-point (CMP) gather for a plurality of data points; generating a multi-dimensional volume by juxtaposing a set of common-offset sections by one of their common-depth point (CDP) and CMP locations; selecting reflectors for each layer in the one of the multi-dimensional volume; computing layer parameters including effective anisotropy and interval anisotropy for each layer in the multi-dimensional volume based on a geometry of the reflectors selected for each layer in the multi-dimensional volume; and applying the layer parameters to an earth model.
Abstract: A well system can include a completion string adjacent to a target formation and a service tool extending within the completion string. When the service tool is in an aligned position with respect to the completion string, the service tool can prevent fluid communication between the target formation and a return conduit to facilitate fluid slurry injection. In such an alignment, a reader of the service tool is positioned within a threshold distance of a tag of the completion string to receive an indicator from the tag. From the tag, the reader receives confirmation that the service tool and the completion string are properly aligned. A pulser of the service tool transmits a signal to a surface location to convey the confirmation. A user may then pump the fluid slurry through an internal fluid flow passage of the service tool to the target formation.
Abstract: As assembly for a pressure-restrictor plate for a partially loaded perforating gun is provided. The assembly can include a charge tube positioned in a loaded-gun section of a partially loaded perforating gun. The assembly can also include a pressure-restrictor plate positioned in a blank-gun section of the partially loaded perforating gun and adjacent to the charge tube. The assembly can further include a rod for securing the pressure-restrictor plate in a position, the rod having a first end that is coupled to the pressure-restrictor plate and a second end that is coupled to an end plate positioned within the partially loaded perforating gun.
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for determining the status and renewing a vehicle registration and/or inspection while a vehicle is located in proximity to a fuel dispensing apparatus. Data communication is established between the fuel dispensing apparatus and a vehicle located in proximity to the fuel dispensing apparatus. Data is received from the vehicle located in proximity to the fuel dispensing apparatus providing one or more identification characteristics of the vehicle. Analysis is performed using the one or more identification characteristics to determine a status of a vehicle registration and/or inspection for the vehicle located in proximity to the fuel dispensing apparatus.
