  • Patent number: 10718878
Abstract: Computing device, software and method for balancing forces acting on a piston of a marine vibrator towed in a body of water. The method includes estimating with a management system located on a vessel or a controller located on a marine vibrator, a transient pressure disturbance in the body of water; computing, at the controller, a force correction for the piston of the marine vibrator, based on the transient pressure disturbance; and instructing an actuation system of the marine vibrator to apply the force correction to the piston in anticipation of an arrival of the transient pressure disturbance.

  • Patent number: 10721322
Abstract: Provided is an intelligent prefetcher for prefetching media content segments following a non-sequential naming convention. The prefetching is initiated in response to a server receiving a user request for a particular segment that is not cached. The server passes the request to an origin. The origin scans metadata of a file from which the particular segment is produced. The scanning identifies time or frame offsets for subsequent segments to be prefetched. The origin constructs the requested segment and includes in the segment header, identifiers corresponding to the offset of each subsequent segment selected for prefetching. The segment passes to the server. The server detects the modified header and generates prefetch requests based on each identifier in the modified header. The server issues the prefetch request to the origin and caches the prefetched segments returned by the origin for distribution in response to subsequent user requests for the prefetched segments.

  • Patent number: 10719666
Abstract: A method for identifying phrases in a text document having a similar discourse to a candidate phrase includes separating text in a document file into a plurality of phrases and generating a plurality of embedding vectors in a textual embedding space by inputting the plurality of phrases into an embedding engine. A mapping of each embedding vector in the textual embedding space is generated with each corresponding phrase and a document location of each corresponding phrase in the document file. A candidate phrase is received by a user and a candidate embedding vector is generated using the embedding engine. Similarity scores are computed based on the plurality of embedding space distances between the candidate phrase embedding vector location and each respective location of each embedding vector in the textual embedding space. A listing of phrases with the highest similarity scores are outputted with respective document locations in the text.

  • Patent number: 10719997
Abstract: Various embodiments provide prognostic vehicle diagnosis methodologies for monitoring the relative health of various vehicle components over time, to enable replacement of those vehicle components prior to component failure. Sensors monitoring those vehicle components transmit generated telematics data to a computing entity configured to generate a telematics data signature based on the sensor-generated data, and to compare the telematics data signature against a reference data signature to ascertain the relative health of the vehicle component. If the telematics data signature satisfies a failure threshold identified within the reference signature, the computing entity initiates a replacement process at least in part by generating an alert for a maintenance personnel.

  • Patent number: 10718749
Abstract: It can sometimes be difficult to quantify the amount of polymer present in a subterranean treatment fluid, particularly at a job site. Methods for analyzing a treatment fluid for a polymer can comprise: receiving a sample of a treatment fluid comprising a nitrogen-containing polymer; placing the sample of the treatment fluid and an aqueous base in an oilfield retort; heating the sample of the treatment fluid and the aqueous base together in the oilfield retort at least until the nitrogen-containing polymer has been substantially hydrolyzed to one or more volatile nitrogen compounds; distilling the one or more volatile nitrogen compounds from the oilfield retort; and determining a quantity of the nitrogen-containing polymer in the sample of the treatment fluid based upon a quantity of the one or more volatile nitrogen compounds distilled from the oilfield retort. Analyses of other nitrogen-containing compounds may take place similarly.

  • Patent number: 10716715
Abstract: An absorbent article has one or more fluid filter layers to inhibit electrode traces from being exposed to low volumes of fluid to reduce the number of false positives that are indicated by an RFID tag of the incontinence detection pad. An antenna inlay has a sacrificial trace portion to permit testing for proper operation of an RFID chip electrically coupled to the antenna inlay. After testing, the sacrificial trace portion is severed. A fluid barrier layer blocks fluid from reaching portions of electrode traces that are located on a backsheet outside a periphery of an absorbent core of an incontinence detection pad. The power at which an antenna transmits to wirelessly energize a passive RFID tag of an incontinence detection pad is controlled to reduce the number of false positives indicated by the RFID tag.

  • Patent number: 10718203
Abstract: Radio frequency Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (“MEMS”) tags are geometrically shaped using protective structures. The MEMS tags may be added to wellbore cement, and pumped downhole. In addition to protecting the MEMS tags from the harsh downhole environment, the protective structures produce a more rounded shape which, in turns, increases the flow efficiency of the MEMS tags. An interrogation tool may be deployed downhole to interrogate the MEMS tags, to thereby perform a variety of wellbore operations such as assessing the integrity of the cement seal.

  • Patent number: 10718204
Abstract: Given a number of temperature measurements, such as from a Distributed Temperature Sensing System (DTS), at various depths in a wellbore, a derivative of temperature with respect to depth can be calculated. A fluid boundary can then be identified where the depths below the boundary corresponds to the presence of fluid and a low fluctuation regime in the derivative of temperature with respect to depth, and the depths above the boundary correspond to the absence of fluid and a high fluctuation regime in the derivative of temperature with respect to depth.

  • Patent number: 10719945
Abstract: Current technologies detect the alertness of a user using frontal face. However, there are no techniques to track the position of face from a side angle. A method and system for face position tracking of a user and alerting the user is disclosed. The method includes capturing images using a monocular camera and identifying a user's face from the images and storing the user's face as reference face. The user's face is divided into two regions and one or more corner points are identified. A centroid is created in the two regions and the corner points are joined using virtual lines to create a dual flexible spider model. One or more new corner points are created on fulfillment of pre-defined conditions. Angle and magnitude of flow vectors is determined using one or more new corner points and alerts are given to the user based on the angle and magnitude.
