Abstract: A digital demodulating apparatus comprises circuit elements constituting a tuner that performs channel select processing to an interleaved received signal, and a demodulator that demodulates the received signal; a deinterleaving section that deinterleaves the interleaved received signal; an error correcting section that corrects errors in the received signal deinterleaved by the deinterleaving section; and a circuit element controlling section that controls an operation of at least one of the circuit elements. The circuit element controlling section estimates the quantity of hypothetical errors in the received signal caused by a control of a circuit element. The circuit element controlling section judges from the estimated quantity of hypothetical errors whether the error correcting section can correct errors in the received signal caused by the control of the circuit element.

Abstract: A system and method manages Quality-of-Service (QoS) in a network by allocating resources, such as available network bandwidth. The network devices transmit and receive data traffic streams, each of which includes QoS parameters, including a priority level and bandwidth allocation. The method includes choosing which existing QoS allocations are pre-empted, notifying original requesters of pre-empted allocations, and re-establishing pre-empted allocations with appropriate modifications. If a new QoS request cannot be accommodated due to the previous allocations to lower-priority requesters, the existing lower-priority allocations are released until enough allocations are released to accommodate the new request. Once the new request is allocated, the pre-empted configurations may be reallocated.
Abstract: A plurality of display elements each includes two signal lines: S1 and S2. An electrode 4, which is one of the electrodes constituting an element capacitor Cp, is connected to the signal line S1 via a switching element TFT1, while the other electrode 5 is connected to the signal line S2 via a switching element S2. The gate electrodes of the switching elements TFT1 and TFT2 are connected to a single common scanning line G. With this structure the drive voltage applied to the element capacitor can be increased even when a TFT has a limited withstand pressure.
Abstract: A conventional contents-watching device, etc. calculate users' tastes of contents only on the basis of watching frequencies, so that variety programs that the users are less interested in but that are broadcasted every week are apt to get a higher degree of users' tastes than a soccer game of the Japanese national team that the users are highly interested in but that is broadcasted only several times per year. In order to solve the problem set forth above, the present invention proposes a contents-watching device that calculates a taste value by normalizing a watching index indicative of the number of contents-watching times or the like for every contents-attribute with an emergent index indicative of the number of contents-watching chances, acquires an contents-attribute connected with contents to be a subject for watching recommendation, and has a function to calculate watching recommendation information by using the taste value of the contents-attribute.
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) that supports multiple antenna transmission via multiple power amplifiers may operate in a reduced power amplifier (PA) mode. When operating in the reduced PA mode, a subset of the UE's power amplifiers are used to transmit uplink signals. A UE may send a preference signal to an e-Node B to request that the UE operate in the reduced PA mode.
