  • Patent number: 7855795
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission apparatus and method which realize a redial function and prevents the leakage of transmission information to the outside by inhibiting the display of the information including a destination to which retransmission is made, when it is determined that a predetermined condition is satisfied, whereby security can be enhanced. When the transmission of image data is not completed, a control section performs a retransmission process for transmitting again the image data to the same destination with the use of the redial function, and counts the number of times of the transmission. The control section determines whether the number of times of the transmission is greater than a predetermined value or not. When the number of times of the transmission is greater than the predetermined value, the control section reports a transmission error and deletes the information including the destination.

  • Patent number: 7852823
Abstract: When a transmission station having a voluntary transmission right transmits FINALL FRAME as a TXOP ending frame to HC, the HC transmits an acknowledgement frame ACK after SIFS following the reception of FINAL FRAME. Here, when the transmitting station has detected that no frame transmission is performed over the communication network from any other ESTAs in PIFS after the transmission of FINAL FRAME, FINAL FRAME is retransmitted in DIFS after the transmission of FINAL FRAME. By performing such a communication management, it is possible to accurately manage a voluntary transmission right even when the communication medium has a low reliability in a network in which one network pathway is time-shared by a plurality of communication apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 7850343
Abstract: A mercury light source tube such that a detrimental effect on its lifetime caused by gathering of mercury at peripheral portions of electrodes can be prevented or controlled, a light source device, and a display device. The mercury light source tube has a tube body in which mercury is sealed, electrodes provided to the tube body, and projections provided on an outer surface of the tube body to be integral with the tube body. The projections are placed between the electrodes or in positions at a distance from the electrodes toward the tube body center. The projections locally increase the surface area of the tube body so as to easily radiate heat to the outside, and locally decrease temperatures of the positions where the projections are placed and their peripheral portions so that mercury gathers at the low temperature portions.

  • Patent number: 7851777
Abstract: A resistance-changing function body includes an object made of a first substance and interposed between a first electrode and a second electrode, and a plurality of particles made of a second substance and arranged within the object so that an electrical resistance between the first electrode and the second electrode is changed before and after application of a specified voltage to between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first substance makes an electrical barrier against the second substance. With this constitution, by applying a specified voltage to between the first electrode and the second electrode, the electrical resistance can be changed depending on a state of the particles made of the second substance. Also, by virtue of a simple structure, a resistance-changing function body of small size is provided with low cost.

  • Patent number: 7852504
Abstract: When the image forming device receives a print job including a print condition in its header, an operation control section extracts the print condition from the header, and makes an inquiry to a server. The server extracts an order table, indicative of a priority based on the extracted print condition, from a setting table in which a priority of sheets has been set in advance in accordance with the extracted print condition, and sends the order table by return to the image forming device. In the image forming device, a tray selection section generates a tray selection signal in accordance with the received order table and a detection signal, outputted from a tray detection section, which functions as sheet storage information of a sheet feeding tray section, so as to send the tray selection signal by return to the sheet feeding tray section.
