  • Patent number: 7847958
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image reading section for reading an image of a book, to which an information tag is added, so as to acquire image data. Based on information stored in the information tag, the image forming apparatus controls an image forming section. The image forming apparatus further includes a tag addition determining section, an added information determining section, and a control section. The tag addition determining section determines whether or not the information tag is added to the book, and the added information determining section determines whether or not the image data contains added information indicating that the information tag is added to the book. Further, the control section controls the image forming section not to carry out image forming, both when the added information determining section determines that the added information is contained and the tag addition determining section determines that the information tag is not added to the book.

  • Patent number: 7847974
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically limiting total colorant coverage in multi-colorant rendering. Two polyhedra are defined: one contains all the colors that exceed the total colorant limit, and another is within the colorant limit that contains the results of the colorant limitation process. Data is received to identify a specified contone color, which is processed to decide whether it is inside one of the polyhedra. If the specified contone color is not within either polyhedra, the specified contone color is used in the rendering process. Alternatively, if the specified contone color is within one of the polyhedra, the value representing the specified contone color is compressed into the second polyhedra volume to obtain a resultant contone color that is used in the rendering process.

  • Patent number: 7846227
Abstract: A vehicle-mounted air purifier 1 includes a main unit incorporating an ion generator. The main unit is removably arranged within a passenger space inside a vehicle. For example, if a beverage container holder 90 is provided inside the vehicle, the main unit can be removably arranged within the passenger space when given a cylindrical shape that permits it to be held in the beverage container 90. The power from which the vehicle-mounted air purifier 1 operates can be taken from a cigarette lighter power outlet 91 provided inside the vehicle through a connection cable 92. The main unit is thus arranged directly within the passenger space, and the ions generated by the ion generator inside are fed into the passenger space with higher efficiency. The main unit is removably arranged as an independent unit. Thus, even when the ion generator breaks down or otherwise its replacement becomes necessary, the arranged ion generator can be removed readily and replaced easily.
