  • Patent number: 7705396
Abstract: In an embodiment of the present invention, a Trench MOSFET includes a trench region provided on a semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor substrate includes a P-type semiconductor substrate, a P-type semiconductor epitaxial layer, an N-type semiconductor body region, and a P-type semiconductor source diffusion. The substrate, the epitaxial layer, the body region, and the source diffusion are adjacently formed in this order. A P-type semiconductor channel region formed of a SiGe layer is provided on a bottom surface and a side wall of the trench region. This facilitates carrier movement in the channel region, reducing ON resistance of the Trench MOSFET. Thus, a Trench MOSFET allowing reduction in the ON resistance without reducing a breakdown voltage is realized.

  • Patent number: 7707025
Abstract: A method of translating an input sentence in a source language to an output sentence in a target language uses a store comprising a plurality of example sentences. A base example sentence is chosen from the store based on a comparison of the input sentence with a plurality of example sentences, and its paired translation is used as a translation basis. A portion of the input sentence differing from a corresponding portion of the base example sentence is identified. A portion of the translation basis aligned with the base example unmatched is located. The input unmatched portion is used to select a set of subsidiary example sentences from the store. A choice of possible translations corresponding to the input unmatched portion is determined from the set of subsidiary example sentences. A translation is selected from the choice based on a predetermined selection algorithm.

  • Patent number: 7705899
Abstract: A plurality of pixel groups X(n) each comprising a plurality of pixels are set, and switched capacitor amplification parts are provided in correspondence to the pixel groups, respectively. Each of the switched capacitor amplification parts has a charge detection node to which output terminals of the transfer transistors of a corresponding pixel group X(n) are connected in common, an amplification part, a reset transistor, a first capacitance element, and a select transistor. A load part common to the switched capacitor amplification parts is provided. The load part is combined with the amplification parts of the switched capacitor amplification parts to constitute inverting amplifiers, respectively. By means of the above constitution, it is capable of obtaining a noise-reduced, high-quality image and which allows transistor count per pixel to be cut, thus allowing the pixel size to be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100097533
Abstract: In a discharge tube, a conductive ferrule is provided on an end portion of a glass tube. The ferrule includes a body that is to be mounted to the outer circumference of the glass tube and has a contact portion to be electrically conductively fixed to a relay connector (or a bearing device). Further included is a conductive portion that extends from the body so as to have elastic contact with an outer lead. The outer lead will not be under load due to the weight of the discharge tube, but the conductive portion solely has elastic contact therewith. Thus, stress concentration on the outer lead can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20100097305
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: scanning wires, provided so as to correspond to a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix manner, to which scanning signals are applied; and signal wires to which data signals are applied, wherein the scanning wires and the signal wires cross each other. TFTs, electrically connected to the scanning wires and the signal wires, each of which is provided in the vicinity of an intersection of the scanning wire and the signal wire, and the TFTs are connected to pixel electrodes. A dummy pixel driven by a dummy signal wire is provided externally adjacent to an endmost pixel column. This brings about a matrix type liquid crystal display device that equalizes capacitive conditions of all the signal wires to each other and can prevent deterioration of display quality that is brought about by a specific portion differently displayed.

  • Publication number: 20100097787
Abstract: A lamp holding apparatus for mounting a lamp to a base member includes a mounting plate having a pair of locking portions protruding to a base side. The locking portion is inserted into a mounting hole provided at the base and capable of being locked to a peripheral edge on its back side. Abutting portions, which protrude to the base side and are capable of abutting the base at the time of mounting, are provided on a bottom surface of the mounting plate that is an opposing surface to the base. The abutting portions are provided at three spots with one of the locking portions interposed therebetween. At the time of mounting, each of the abutting portions abut the base, and the mounting plate is elastically deformed so as to be warped, whereby the locking surface of the locking portion is kept in the state in which it is locked to a peripheral edge of a back side of the mounting hole by its elastic force.

  • Publication number: 20100097557
Abstract: A TFT substrate (110) of a liquid crystal display device (100) includes a common electrode (112) and a drain electrode (114) facing the common electrode (112) via an insulating layer (113) and provided with an opening (114a) for making an electric field generated between the common electrode (112) and the drain electrode (114) supplied into a liquid crystal layer (130). Since the opening (114a) for making an electric field supplied into the liquid crystal layer (130) is provided in the drain electrode (114) made from metal, the opening (114a) can be formed more finely than before. Thus, a liquid crystal display which can more surely control spray-to-bend transition can be attained.

  • Publication number: 20100097786
Abstract: A ferrule includes a body having a cylindrical shape. Elastic gripping portions are arranged on the body so as to bulge radially inwardly. The elastic gripping portions can have elastic contact with the outer circumferential surface of a glass tube. The body of the ferrule is mounted to the glass tube via the elastic gripping portions capable of elastic and radial deformation. Thereby, the variations in outer diameter of the glass tube can be absorbed, and therefore the dimensional control with high precision is not required for glass tubes at the time of manufacturing. This leads to cost reduction.

  • Publication number: 20100097922
Abstract: A method for generating sequences that are nearest to a set of sequences with minimum average cross-correlation is described. Each element of a set of sequences is projected to a nearest constellation point. The set of sequences is converted into a time domain representation. An inverse discrete Fourier Transform (IDFT) is performed on the set of sequences. A cubic metric of each sequence of the set of sequences is evaluated. A sequence is removed from the set if the cubic metric exceeds a threshold. A minimum maximum cross-correlation is obtained for the set of sequences.

  • Patent number: 7700001
Abstract: A light-emitting apparatus composed of a light source that emits primary light and a phosphor that absorbs the primary light and emits secondary light offers high brightness, low power consumption, and a long lifetime while minimizing adverse effects on the environment. The phosphor is formed of a III-V group semiconductor in the form of fine-particle crystals each having a volume of 2 800 nm3 or less. The light emitted from the fine-particle crystals depends on their volume, and therefore giving the fine-particle crystals a predetermined volume distribution makes it possible to adjust the wavelength range of the secondary light.
