  • Publication number: 20080158129
Abstract: In an embodiment, a sampling signal to each data signal line is generated by using an output signal outputted from each flip-flop, and a precharge signal by which the data signal line to which the sampling signal is to be outputted is precharged is generated by using an output signal outputted from an output terminal of the flip-flop. Further, by providing a NOR circuit, an active period of the precharge signal and an active period of the sampling signal are prevented from overlapping each other. With this, in an embodiment of a display device driving circuit, including a precharge circuit, which causes a precharge power supply to precharge signal supply lines, the number of shift registers and the size of a circuit can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080156266
Abstract: A clearance between a metal electrode and a sidewall portion (sidewall) of an approximately U-shaped dielectric is adjusted by, for example, partially inserting a heat insulator, a heat shield or an insulating material. Temperature difference in the Z direction (vertical direction) of the sidewall portion of approximately U-shaped dielectric is made smaller than temperature difference between front and rear sides at the bottom (bottom portion) of approximately U-shaped dielectric, to reduce warp in the Z direction of the sidewall portion of approximately U-shaped dielectric. This curbs warp in the Z direction of the bottom portion of approximately U-shaped dielectric coupled to the sidewall portion. The warp in the Z direction, which would be generated if the temperature difference only between the front and rear surfaces at the bottom were considered, can be curbed by utilizing the sidewall portion of approximately U-shaped dielectric.

  • Patent number: 7394813
Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing an acknowledgement mechanism for transmission of a real-time data stream from a sending system to a receiving system are disclosed. An exemplary method implemented in a sending system involves establishing a connection with a receiving system for transmitting a real-time data stream to the receiving system. The method also involves transmitting a current segment of the real-time data stream to the receiving system. If an acknowledgement of the current segment is not received from the receiving system during a predetermined time period, the method also involves discontinuing any retransmission attempts for the current segment and transmitting a next segment to the receiving system.

  • Patent number: 7394771
Abstract: In optical two-way communication using a single optical fiber, part of the light transmitted from an apparatus is received as stray light by the apparatus itself. This occasionally hampers accurate detection of disconnection from the partner apparatus and of the start of data communication by the partner apparatus after the establishment of connection. To overcome this, the timing with which an apparatus transmits a tone signal after the establishment of connection is compared with the timing with which the apparatus receives a tone signal from the partner apparatus, and the two apparatuses use different sets of data transmission properties (for example, different wavelengths) to accurately detect disconnection. Moreover, based on the properties of the received light and the characteristics of the receiving amplifier, repetition of the same code for longer than a predetermined period is detected to accurately detect disconnection.
