  • Patent number: 7393415
Abstract: To suppress generation of a joint when detaching an applicator roll and cylindrical substrate from each other in a simple control to form a coating film having a uniform thickness efficiently on the cylindrical substrate is provided. A coating liquid is supplied from a pan to an applicator roll via a metalling roll, the applicator roll supplied with the coating liquid and a cylindrical substrate provided so as to be close to or in contact with the applicator roll are rotated. The coating liquid is transferred from the applicator roll to the cylindrical substrate, and the cylindrical substrate is rotated in a predetermined number. Thereafter, such control is carried out that the circumferential speed V1 of one of the applicator roll and the cylindrical substrate is higher than the circumferential speed V2 of the other when detaching the applicator roll and the cylindrical substrate from each other.

  • Patent number: 7395028
Abstract: A satellite antenna switching apparatus has LNB ports to which LNBs are connected, receiver ports to which receivers that exchange signals with the LNBs are connected, cascade ports to which another switching apparatus is cascade-connected, and impedance circuits that function as means for detecting the signals exchanged between the LNBs and receivers. The impedance circuits provide impedances according to the connection states of the cascade ports, and are electrically disconnected from the signal paths when another switching apparatus is cascade-connected to the cascade ports. With this configuration, the satellite antenna switching apparatus suffers from less attenuation of the exchanged signals even in a cascade connection of a plurality of stages of switching apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20080151337
Abstract: For controlling a wavelength of laser light of a wavelength-variable laser (step S0), an optical system or a hologram recording medium is moved (step S1) to attain a state in which a light beam enters a wavelength control pattern. Reference light that is the laser light is applied to the wavelength control pattern (step S2). Then, a light receiving element observes reproduction light from the wavelength control pattern (step S3). A wavelength of the reference light that is the laser light is minutely changed. A quantity of the reproduction light changes with the wavelength. The quantity of the reproduction light is monitored to obtain a specific wavelength ?0 (a rotation angle of a diffraction grating 52) maximizing the quantity of the reproduction light (step S4). The wavelength of the laser light of the wavelength-variable laser light source is adjusted (step S5).

  • Publication number: 20080150924
Abstract: There are provided: a first logic operation circuit which performs a logic operation using a high-amplitude logic signal; a transmission system having a load capacitance; and a low-voltage signal generator which is a step-down level shifter transforming an incoming high-amplitude logic signal from the first logic operation circuit to a low-amplitude logic signal having a lower amplitude than the high-amplitude logic signal for output to the transmission system. In the configuration, the first logic operation circuit operates based on a high-amplitude logic signal, and is therefore free from malfunctions and performs operations at high speed. Further, the transmission system introducing a load capacitance transmits a low-amplitude logic signal and therefore restrains increases in electric power consumption and occurrence of unnecessary radiation.

  • Publication number: 20080150424
Abstract: A display element included in a display device is provided with a TFT circuit portion and a pixel aperture portion to which an organic EL element material is applied and which emits light in accordance with a current from the TFT circuit portion, as well as a scanning signal line electrode, a data signal line electrode and a power source line electrode. The resistance Re of the power source line electrode can be reduced, because the electrode width at a portion where the power source line electrode is in contact with the pixel aperture portion is larger than the electrode width at other portions. The resistance ratio Rx/Re between the electrode resistance Re and a combined resistance Rx of a current path from the power source line electrode through the pixel aperture portion is at least 105. Thus, a display element and a display device are realized, which have little luminance variation within the display screen, which have a high numerical aperture, a high light emission efficiency and a long lifetime.

  • Patent number: 7391398
Abstract: An liquid crystal display (LCD) device uses a method for displaying halftone without causing luminance differences among pixels when an FRC technique is used, and without causing stripe-shaped luminance variations when a flicker component is eliminated spatially. The LCD device includes a data splitter, a pixel location detecting circuit, a frame number determining circuit, an applied timing memory circuit, an applied voltage determining circuit, a summation process circuit, and a timing adjusting circuit. The LCD device determines driving voltages such that for each of a high voltage or a low voltage during these 2N frames, the number of applying positive voltages is the same as the number of applying negative voltages where a unit period is 2N frames for multi-gray-level display of (1+N) levels. The LCD device can improve image quality since the average luminance of each pixel is made uniform.

  • Patent number: 7391010
Abstract: The photoelectric encoder of the present invention has a light-emitting device and light-receiving devices arranged in one direction in a region that light from the light-emitting device can reach. When a moving object that alternately has a light-on portion that produces a state in which light is incident on the light-receiving device and a light-off portion that produces a state in which light is not incident on the light-receiving device passes at a prescribed movement frequency in the one direction, an output of each of the light-receiving devices takes a value corresponding to the incidence or nonincidence of light on the light-receiving device. A logical operating section carries out operation of the logical values expressed by the outputs of the light-receiving devices to form an output signal that has a frequency different from the movement frequency.

Abstract: In an encryption storage apparatus (data storage apparatus) (1), when entered an allocation request signal (a1), a key management section (7) outputs a generation request signal (b) to a random number generation section (3). The random number generation section (3) generates a pseudorandom number as an encryption key (c) at the entering timing of the generation request signal (b), and the key management section (7) causes a volatile key storage section (4) to store the encryption key (c) and returns a corresponding key number (a2) to a user side. When the user enters an encryption instructing signal (a3) and the key number (a2) to the key management section (7), the key management section (7) reads out the corresponding encryption key (c), and an encryption section (5) converts entered data (d1) into encrypted data (d2) and stores the encrypted data (d2) in a nonvolatile storage section (2).

  • Patent number: 7390725
Abstract: Transistors fabricated on SSOI (Strained Silicon On Insulator) substrate, which comprises a strained silicon layer disposed directly on an insulator layer, have enhanced device performance due to the strain-induced band modification of the strained silicon device channel and the limited silicon volume because of the insulator layer. The present invention discloses SSOI substrate fabrication processes comprising various novel approaches. One is the use of a thin relaxed SiGe layer as the strain-induced seed layer to facilitate integration and reduce processing cost. Another is the formation of split implant microcracks deep in the silicon substrate to reduce the number of threading dislocations reaching the strained silicon layer. And lastly is a two step annealing/thinning process for the strained silicon/SiGe multilayer film transfer without blister or flaking formation.

  • Patent number: 7392007
Abstract: A cleaning blade for removing residual toner left on the surface of an intermediate transfer belt after the second transfer is supported integrally with movement of a tension roller. In the case where the tension roller moves to make a tension of the intermediate transfer belt constant, then, following this, the cleaning blade moves. Thus, the contact state of the cleaning blade with respect to the surface of the intermediate transfer belt is kept constant, and thus cleaning of the intermediate transfer belt can be performed stably.
