  • Patent number: 9177517
Abstract: A sum of the number of frames constituting a scanning period and the number of frames constituting a pause period is an even number. A polarity of a POL signal in each frame in each of the scanning period and the pause period is reversed every frame. Further, the polarity of the POL signal is reversed at a timing when switching from the scanning period to the pause period is carried out, and is maintained at a timing when switching from the pause period to the scanning period is carried out. Alternatively, the polarity of the POL signal is maintained at a timing when switching from the scanning period to the pause period is carried out, and is reversed at a timing when switching from the pause period to the scanning period is carried out.

  • Patent number: 9177527
Abstract: A multiple primary color display device includes a plurality of pixels located in a matrix including a plurality of rows and columns. The pixels are each formed of at least four sub pixels for displaying different primary colors, which can be sorted into n number of virtual pixels, and use each of the n number of virtual pixels as a minimum color display unit for providing display. The sub pixels which form each of the virtual pixels include a sub pixel common to another of the virtual pixels. When a line having a width corresponding to the n number of virtual pixels is displayed, two sub pixels which are located at both of two ends, in a width direction, of the line and display a certain identical primary color to each other have a luminance lower than the original luminance that the two sub pixels.

  • Patent number: 9176433
Abstract: An image forming apparatus prevents link members for monochrome and for color from coming off while suppressing an increase in rotatory torque and a deficiency of clutch capacity for transmitting a driving force to a cam shaft. Coming-off protection sections for preventing the coming off of a second link member which is the link member for color is provided in a cam section for monochrome. In other words, it is not necessary to provide a coming-off protection section in a second cam section which is a cam section for color requiring a large rotatory torque. This eliminates the need for a coming-off protection section of the cam section for color to act on the link member for color when a cam is turned by a driving source.

  • Patent number: 9179087
Abstract: An AV device is provided that can automatically perform OSD display setting of other AV devices at a time based on local ODS display setting even when a plurality of AV devices are connected. The AV device (depicted as TV 1) includes a connection means (depicted as an HDMI connector 21 and an HDMI connector 22) for making connection with external AV devices 3 and 4 capable of performing OSD display, an OSD processing portion 23 for performing OSD display on a display 17, and a system controller 20 for controlling the entire system. The OSD processing portion 23 generates ODS display setting data 23a from the display setting such as a character color and size in OSD display received from a user using a TV remote controller 2 or the like and stores it. The system controller 20 transmits the OSD display setting data 23a for the TV 1 stored here to the external AV devices 3 and 4 via the HDMI connectors 21 and 22.

  • Patent number: 9178600
Abstract: A packet data transmission system comprises primary stations (PS) having signal transmitting and receiving means and antennas (PA1 to PA4) for propagating downlink signals and receiving uplink signals and a plurality of secondary stations (SS) able to roam within the coverage areas of the primary stations. Each secondary station (SS1) has signal transmitting and receiving means, a predetermined number of antennas (SA1 to SA4), and means for monitoring its radio environment. Information about the radio environment is relayed as an uplink signal to the respective primary station which modifies its mode of transmission of packet data signals. The secondary station in response to the modified mode of transmission of the downlink signals adapts its receiver resources to process the packet data signals and effect cancellation of any interference.

  • Patent number: 9176607
Abstract: When a handwritten image is input using a handwriting input device while an image based on any general data stored in a storage unit is being displayed on a display unit, the input/output apparatus displays a handwritten image in addition to the displayed image, and creates handwritten data including data specifying information specifying general data which is a basis for the displayed image. The input/output apparatus terminates the display of the handwritten image when the display of the image superposed by the handwritten image is terminated, and displays the image based on the data specified by the data specifying information included in the handwritten data when the handwritten image is displayed. This allows the association between the displayed image and the handwritten image to be saved and to easily be reproduced.

  • Patent number: 9178577
Abstract: A radio communication system comprises a communication channel for the transmission of data packets (302) from a primary station having a plurality of antennas to a secondary station having at least one antenna. The channel comprises a plurality of paths, and the primary station transmits a plurality of packets substantially simultaneously. Each of the plurality of packets is transmitted via a different subset of the plurality of paths, for example by arranging for each packet to be transmitted via a different antenna or antenna beam. The secondary station receives the plurality of data packets, determines whether each packet is received correctly and signals this determination (typically as an acknowledgement (304) or a negative acknowledgement (306)) to the primary station for each of the plurality of packets. The signaling may be by any convenient means, for example transmitting each acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement via a different subset of available uplink paths.

  • Patent number: 9178125
Abstract: A light-emitting apparatus of the present invention has (i) a semiconductor device which emits light toward a higher position than a substrate and (ii) a plurality of external connection terminals, and includes: a light-reflecting layer, provided on the substrate, which reflects the light emitted by the semiconductor device; and a covering layer which covers at least the light-reflecting layer and which transmits the light reflected by the light-reflecting layer. Further, the semiconductor device is provided on the covering layer, and is electrically connected to the external connection terminals via connecting portions, and the semiconductor device and the connecting portions are sealed with a sealing resin so as to be covered. Therefore, the light-emitting apparatus has increased efficiency with which light is taken out, and can prevent a reflecting layer from being altered, deteriorating, and decreasing in reflectance.
