  • Patent number: 9122097
Abstract: A backlight system (30) includes a light emitting section (31) and an imaging optical system. The imaging optical system includes a first microlens array (MLA1) and a second microlens array (MLA2). The lenses (1A) separates the beams of light emitted from the light emitting section (31) by RGB, and causes them to be converged at a pitch same as a pitch at which the picture elements are arrayed. The lenses (2A) are provided in one-to-one correspondence to the picture elements such that the lenses (2A) have their respective focal points at positions onto which beams of light having passed through the lenses (1A) are converged. The lenses (2A) thus deflect the beams of light which have passed through the lenses (1A) in a substantially vertical direction with respect to the display surface of the liquid crystal panel.

  • Patent number: 9125194
Abstract: A radio communication system includes a plurality of mobile station apparatuses and a base statement apparatus. Each of the mobile station apparatuses selects the lowest number and the second lowest number of control channel elements (CCEs) in which downlink allocation information is detected, and obtains two combinations, to be applied to transmission antennas, of a physical resource block (PRB), a cyclic shift amount, and an orthogonal code sequence in the time domain, on the basis of values by adding the numbers of CCEs to an offset value broadcast by the base station apparatus. Each of the mobile station apparatuses spreads pilot signals using spread codes based on the two combinations, arranges the spread pilot signals in PRBs corresponding to the signals, and transmits the signals through the transmission antennas.

  • Patent number: 9123613
Abstract: An image sensor, for example for incorporation within an active matrix display, comprises an array of sensor elements 10. Each sensor element (10) comprise an amplifying transistor (M1) whose gate is connected to an integrating node (11). The integrating node (11) is connected to one plate of an integrating capacitor (C1) and to one electrode of a photodiode (D1), whose other electrode is connected to a resetting line (RST). The sensor element (10) performs a repeating sensing cycle comprising a resetting phase, an integrating phase and a reading phase. During the resetting phase, the resetting line (RST) receives a voltage which forward-biases the photodiode (D1) so as to charge the integrating node (11) to a predetermined voltage. The resetting line (RST) is then returned to a voltage for reverse-biasing the photodiode (D1) so that the integrating and reading phases may be performed.

  • Patent number: 9123280
Abstract: When first and second region-processing sections (510, 520) calculate in parallel backlight luminances required for an input image halved by a regional image division section (505) included in an area-active drive processing section (5) of a liquid crystal display device, LED data (Db1, Db2) are exchanged for each other, allowing reference to backlight luminances not calculated for one region but calculated for the other region. As a result, when an area is illuminated by surrounding backlight sources, the actual display luminance can be calculated correctly. Thus, pixel display can be provided with correct display tones across the entire screen, thereby preventing a reduction in display quality.
