Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device with which it is possible to suppress degradation of image quality during video display or three-dimensional display without causing gradational luminance irregularities. Writing of an image to be displayed is sequentially performed from one side of a panel to the other side thereof during each frame period, and writing of a black image is sequentially performed from the one side of the panel to the other side thereof during the vertical blanking period in each frame period. A plurality of LEDs composing a backlight are divided into a plurality of segments so that a group of LEDs arrayed in a line in the direction in which scanning signal lines extend belong to the same segment. A segment lighting control circuit in a backlight control circuit controls emission intensities of the LEDs segment by segment so that the intensity of light irradiating the panel increases gradually from the one side of the panel to the other side thereof.

  • Publication number: 20150146129
Abstract: In a pixel circuit, during a period during which an organic EL element is not emitting light, transistors are in an “on” state and the organic EL element (OLED) is reversed-biased by a low-level power-supply potential and a reverse-biasing power-supply potential. A reverse-direction voltage determined by a reverse-direction current that depends on the degree to which degradation of the organic EL element has progressed is thus written to a capacitor. A data voltage is then supplied to the capacitor via another capacitor, bringing the drive voltage of a transistor (T2) that controls the current that drives the organic EL element to Vsig+Voledr. This makes it possible to minimize decreases in the emission luminance of an electrooptical element such as an organic EL element due to degradation thereof over time.

  • Publication number: 20150145789
Abstract: The present invention aims at reducing noise caused by driving of the display panel while reducing a drop in the output rate of coordinates representing an object to be drawn. A coordinate output device receives a horizontal synchronization signal of a display panel from a display panel control unit and starts to detect touch location on the touch panel after a prescribed length of time has passed from the initial rise of the horizontal synchronization signal. The coordinate output device detects coordinates representing touch location in accordance with a signal outputted from the touch panel and performs a generation process to generate coordinates based on three consecutive detected coordinates. The coordinate output device outputs coordinate data having the detected coordinates and the generated coordinates to a control unit as coordinates from a period when three of the generated coordinates were detected.

Abstract: A distance calculation unit acquires a first position information indicating a position of a part of a body of each user indicated in an image captured by an imaging device. A user information analysis unit detects an operation region where a user can operate by using a part of a body, based on the first position information, and that identifies as an operator candidate a user having the part of the body indicated by the first position information in case that the detection of the operation region was possible. The user information analysis unit, of operator candidates, identifies as an operator a user including a part of the body in the operation region, and identifies as a user who cannot perform operation a user other than a user identified as the operator of the operator candidates. Because of the above, it is possible to increase operability.
