Abstract: An orthopedic instrument in the form of an acetabular cup extractor for reliably and efficiently extracting an acetabular cup implant from an acetabulum. The acetabular cup extractor includes a handle assembly and a quick connect coupling extending from the handle assembly. The acetabular cup extractor further includes a blade having a first quick connect for connecting with the quick connect coupling and a second quick connect. In addition, the acetabular cup extractor includes a guide configured to be received within an acetabular cup, the guide including a quick connect coupling for connecting with the second quick connect of the blade.
Abstract: A cutter for cutting an implant is provided. The cutter includes a handle; a handle coupler coupled to the handle; a drill guide coupled to the handle coupler and including at least one window; a mill extending through the handle coupler and the drill guide and disposed to rotate freely therein; and a catch cup circumscribing the drill guide to maintain chips of the implant removed by the mill.

Abstract: A surgical tool assembly having a striking assembly is disclosed. The surgical tool assembly includes a handle for attachment to a tool, and a striking assembly for attachment to the handle. The striking assembly includes a frame, an impact plate extending from the frame, and a guard attached to the frame and movable between a first position adjacent the frame and a second position. The second position may be distal to the frame, e.g., adjacent the handle.
Abstract: A locking grip extraction tool has plier handles with jaws having sharp beveled edges for moving in a direction so that an axis perpendicular to the plane of movement is oriented at an acute angle to the handles; the axis intersecting the plane of jaw movement at a point midway between the jaws. A locking link coupled to the handles is adapted to releasably lock the jaws onto an orthopedic implant. A connection rod can be threaded into a hole in one of the handles near the jaws, so that a force applying tool such as a slap hammer can be connected to the rod to apply force to remove the implant. The rod is in alignment with the axis, which alignment makes it easier to remove the implant.
Abstract: An osteotome guide is provided. The osteotome guide includes a handle, a shaft within the handle and slidable to a selected longitudinal position with respect to the handle, a tool coupler attached to a distal end of the shaft for receiving a working tool, and a lock assembly to lock the shaft into the selected longitudinal position with respect to the handle.
Abstract: A glenosphere base removal tool is provided. The tool includes a housing having an axis of rotation; a handle coupled to the housing for receiving a loosening torque from a user; a plurality of pin assemblies in the housing for engaging fastener holes of a glenosphere base, each of the pin assemblies extending substantially parallel to the axis of rotation and spaced radially from the axis of rotation by a radial distance; a cam assembly structured to adjust the radial distances of the pin assemblies; and a ratchet assembly structured to transfer the loosening torque to the pin assemblies for unscrewing the glenosphere base.
Abstract: A implant extractor for removing an implant is provided. The implant extractor includes an extractor head having a laterally extending blade, an intermediate portion adjacent to the blade, and a laterally extending strike plate adjacent to the intermediate portion, the blade including a proximal side for mating with the implant; a shaft having proximal and distal ends, the distal end of the shaft being coupled to the extractor head; and a handle coupled to the proximal end of the shaft.
Abstract: A trephine is provided. The trephine includes a hole saw sized to accommodate an implant, the hole saw having: a cylindrical body having a proximal end, a distal end and an outer surface, a plurality of circumferentially spaced cutting teeth at the distal end of the cylindrical body, and a plurality of helical grooves on the outer surface of the cylindrical body; and a quick connect coupled to the proximal end of the cylindrical body for releasably connecting to a cooperating quick connector of a tool.

Abstract: A surgical hammer that includes a handle, a shaft extending from the handle and a hammer head connected to the shaft. The hammer head includes a slot extending through the hammer head and in fluid communication with a distal end of the hammer head, a first internal cavity within the hammer head spaced laterally from the slot, and a second internal cavity within the hammer head spaced laterally from the slot.
