Abstract: An implant extractor assembly that includes a handle, and a mount connectable to the handle. The mount includes a main body, a quick connect about a proximal end of the main body, and an L-shaped connector about a distal end of the main body. The L-shaped connector includes a through hole having a longitudinal axis transverse to a longitudinal axis of the main body.
Abstract: A surgical extractor including a second arm having a proximal end and a distal end, and a first arm having a proximal end for attachment to an extraction device. The first arm additionally has a distal end for attachment to a first modular jaw. The first arm further includes a transverse opening having fastener structure configured to releasably retain an extraction impactor or an extraction device connector. The surgical extractor additionally includes a link pivotably connected to the first and second arms, the link having a distal end for attachment to a second modular jaw.
Abstract: A handle for a surgical tool including a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end with a gripping handle affixed to the proximal end of the shaft. A bushing is attached to the distal end of the shaft, the bushing including a plurality of flexible members circumferentially spaced apart. The handle further includes a sleeve circumscribing the shaft and the bushing. The sleeve is moveable between a first position substantially covering an entirety of the bushing and a second position spaced from a most distal end of the bushing.

Abstract: An implant extractor for use in orthopedic surgeries. The implant extractor provides a line of force substantially parallel to an implant to be extracted. The implant extractor includes a curved body having a curved jaw track configured to slidingly receive a correspondingly curved jaw for clamping a trunnion of an implant, e.g., a hip stem implant. A push rod urges the curved jaw into clamping engagement with the trunnion under the influence of a cam handle having a continuously curved cam surface.

Abstract: An orthopedic screw extractor device including a shaft, an end portion about a first end of the shaft for securing to a handle, and a screw extracting tip about a second end of the shaft opposite the first end. The screw extracting tip further includes a generally frustoconical shape having a side at an angle of about 5 to 15 degrees relative to a longitudinal axis of the screw extracting tip. The screw extracting tip further includes first, second and third screw threads and first, second and third flutes circumferentially spaced about the screw extracting tip and extending across an entire length of the screw extracting tip. Each of the screw threads has a lead of about 0.07 to 0.12 inches, a pitch of about 0.02 to 0.04 inches, a thread angle of about 40 to 50 degrees, and a depth of about 0.01 to 0.02 inches.
Abstract: An orthopedic instrument in the form of an acetabular cup extractor system for reliably and efficiently extracting an acetabular cup implant from an acetabulum. The system includes a handle assembly, an extractor attachable to a distal end of the handle, and a dome guide assembly having a hemi-spherical dome for engaging the extractor and a centering body extending distally from the hemi-spherical dome for engaging an acetabular implant. The extractor includes a curved, concave guide and a curved blade. The curved, concave guide is sized and shaped to substantially matingly engage with and cover a substantial portion of the hemi-spherical dome. As a result of such an arrangement, a uniform cut is achieved by the curved blade thereby resulting in a minimum of bone being extracted from the acetabulum around the acetabular cup implant during a surgical procedure.
Abstract: A handle assembly for a surgical tool including a handle having a distal end, and a first retaining mechanism attached to the distal end of the handle. The retaining mechanism includes a first retaining housing having a first central cavity for receiving a surgical tool, and a first locking mechanism moveable between first and second positions relative to the housing, the locking mechanism including a through hole for receiving the surgical tool. The handle assembly further includes a second retaining mechanism attached to a proximal end of the handle. The second retaining mechanism includes a second retaining housing having a second central cavity for receiving a handle extension, and a second locking mechanism moveable between first and second positions relative to the second retaining housing, the second locking mechanism having a through hole for receiving the handle extension.

The screw extracting tip further includes first, second and third screw threads and first, second and third flutes circumferentially spaced about the screw extracting tip and extending across an entire length of the screw extracting tip. Abstract: An implant extractor tool including first and second pivotably connected arms having jaws at their distal ends adapted to engage an implant. The tool further includes an adjustment mechanism having an adjuster and a biasing member biasing one of the first and second arms, and an actuator operatively engageable with the adjustment mechanism. The actuator is movable between a first position locking the adjustment mechanism in a fixed position and a second position spaced from the adjustment mechanism permitting movement of the adjustment mechanism relative to the actuator. The implant extraction tool can be operated using one hand to engage an implant to be extracted.
