Abstract: An open-cooled component for a gas turbine is provided. The component includes an outer wall that is subjected to a hot gas and at least partially defines a first cavity for a first means. The outer wall is provided with through-openings which open up into the cavity on one side and into a hot gas chamber on the other. The inventive component also includes at least one second cavity for admixing a second means, said second cavity is connected to the through-openings in a fluid-connected manner. A combustion chamber for a gas turbine, and to a gas turbine including one such component is also provided.
Abstract: An insulating resin for switch gears on the basis of glycidyl ester contains methyl nadic anhydride/hydrogenated methyl nadic anhydride as hardener and an N-substituted imidazole as accelerator. Furthermore, platelet-shaped alumina is added as a filler. The resin has a substantially elevated glass transition temperature, while at the same time having a high mechanical level and being very tracking resistant. It is suitable as a casting resin in gas-insulated transmission line systems.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for visualizing a tomographic volume data record of an object volume. In at least one embodiment of the method, the gradient magnitude is additionally determined for each voxel of the volume data record and an at least two-dimensional transfer function is provided which assigns a color value and an opacity value to each combination of gradient value and scalar of the voxel. Here, at least the opacity value and the color value are modulated by the gradient value. The transfer function is applied to the previously determined gradient values and scalar values and the volume data record is displayed with the respective color and opacity values of the voxels by way of a volume rendering technique. The method permits an improved recognizability of structures, in particular in volume data records from medical imaging.

Abstract: A machine tool with a main positioning device for positioning a main support element in a translational linear direction within a main region of displacement is provided. A main machining device and an accessory machining device are arranged on the main support element. The machining devices have pivoting devices for pivoting the machining heads in a rotatory basic pivoting direction. Every accessory pivoting device is connected to the main support element via a respective supplementary accessory positioning device for positioning the respective accessory machining head in the translational linear direction relative to the main support element within a respective supplementary accessory region of displacement.
Abstract: An electrically commuted reversible synchronous motor is activated in a calibration journey using an externally forced rotating field, during which an electrical angle of a rotating field and a mechanical angle of the rotor are measured simultaneously at a reference position by an external sensor. These items are stored associated with one another as a measurement series of value pairs. The electrical angle of the rotating field and the mechanical angle of the rotor are also detected simultaneously after direction reversal of the rotating field. These are stored as a second measurement series of value pairs. The angle difference between the electrical angle and the mechanical angle are calculated from value pairs of both measurement series. The correction value for taking the actual incorrect angle into consideration is calculated from the two angle differences by averaging.
Abstract: In a device and method to install a coil in a circuit, the coil is installed on a substrate and the inductance value of the coil installed on the substrate is adjusted with a test circuit board. The substrate is then installed in the circuit. This enables an efficient installation of the coil.
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas turbine engine rotor disc with a plurality of cooling passages having an essentially radial orientation relative to an axis of rotation of the rotor disc, each cooling passage having an inlet and an outlet and being included relative to a rotor disc surface and a cut-out arranged at the passage at an outlet end of the passage. Each cooling passage terminating in a slot is arranged in the periphery of the rotor disc. Each slot is sized and configured to receive a glade root.
Abstract: A method for the start-up of a lighting system having lamps and a central control system, wherein each lamp has an identification code independently of its position and a position code assigned by a control device, has the following steps: a) Separating the lamps into two groups by putting one group in a first state and the other group in a second state, b) selecting one of the lamps and entering its state into the operating device selecting the group of lamps that has the same state as the selected lamp for further steps, while the other group is no longer considered, d) when the selected group does not only have the selected lamp, the steps a)-d) are carried out again e) assigning the position code to the remaining lamp, to bring the code directly into relation with the identification code, f) carrying out the steps a)-e) for further lamps.

Abstract: A sorting system for sorting flat objects, particularly mail items, and a method for sorting such objects. The sorting system has a discharge device and an arrangement having at least two output devices. The output devices are arranged one behind the other as viewed in a longitudinal axis. The discharge device is designed to discharge each flat object to be sorted into one of the output devices in each case in such a way that the objects discharged into the same output device form a stack. Each output device has a bottom. The bottom of each output device rises with respect to the horizontal as viewed in a rising direction. Abstract: A circuit for switching a PIN diode has a PIN diode and an inductor (in particular a coil) as well as a direct voltage source and a group of switches, wherein in a first switch setting of the group of switches the PIN diode can be fed with current from the direct voltage source in its admission direction; and in a further switch setting the PIN diode and the inductor are separated from the direct voltage source and are arranged in a closed current loop such that the inductor can generate a discharge current upon transitioning to the further switch setting, which discharge current is directed to the PIN diode opposite to the current generated by the direct voltage source (DC).
Abstract: In a method to control the movement of an endoscopy capsule in a hollow organ of a patient using a magnet system, a movement signal of the endoscopy capsule in the hollow organ is detected, that represents the time curve of the spatial position. The movement signal is evaluated to identify a periodic signal component thereof, and the frequency of this periodic signal component is identified. The magnet system is operated to exert a force on the endoscopy capsule in the hollow organ that is periodic with the frequency of the periodic signal component, and that is directed opposite to the movement signal.

Abstract: In the method for closed-loop control of at least two converters in an energy transmission and/or distribution system, each rectifier regulator and each inverter regulator provides a differential DC voltage from the difference between a given set DC voltage and the relevant received measured DC voltage, and also provides a differential DC current from a differential DC current from the difference between a set DC current and the corresponding received measured DC current. Each converter is a self-commutated converter with power semiconductors. The rectifier regulation of the provided converter is regulated such that the sum of the product of the differential voltages and the value of given set DC current at the corresponding rectifier and the differential current is a minimum. The inverter regulation regulates the corresponding inverter such that the sum between the differential voltage and the differential current is a minimum.

Abstract: A scintillator arrangement for detecting X-ray radiation includes a plurality of pixels separated from one another by reflectors and made of a scintillator ceramic, doped in particular by cerium, for converting the X-ray radiation into visible light. In at least one embodiment, the reflectors are designed for absorbing light with a wavelength range which corresponds to a selected emission band of the scintillator ceramic. Thus, the concentration of cerium in the scintillator ceramic can be reduced and this leads to an increased light yield.
Abstract: When a request is sent by a switching unit, relating to the use of at least one subset of a codec mode configuration for the establishment of a transcoder-free operation connection by a radio network controller, it is checked whether the at least one requested subset is supported by the radio network controller. If the at least one subset of at least one codec mode configuration is supported, a transcoder-free operation connection to the switching unit and to the communication terminal is established by the radio network controller. Furthermore, a message relating to the at least one subset of the codec mode configuration to be used is signalled from the radio network controller to the communication terminal for the transmission of data.

Abstract: A switch includes a handle for activation and deactivation and an actuating device. The actuating device includes a motor drive, which tensions a spring held in a tensioned state by latching by way of a gear. Two spring pairs are provided for activation and deactivation. The two bridges are arranged, with the spring pairs thereof nested within each other and displaceable with respect to each other. The bridges facing each other are pressed apart from one another to tension the spring pairs, and an actuation element is arranged on the one bridge for activation and an actuation element is arranged on the other bridge for deactivation.
